As a mother of two daughters, I am thankful you are bringing attention to this. Women have a vital role in ministry, but not in a pastoral, leadership role. Would you agree this conversation overlaps the discussion on a woman’s vital role in the home? It’d be overwhelming to be in charge of my home and also need to preach to the church. I couldn’t do both well, something would have to give.
Thanks @rachele.471! I would agree, the conversation does overlap with the vital role of women in the home. The Apostle Paul does indeed elevate and honor the role of women in both the church and home. We will discuss more about that in the next episode!
Since a woman could be a pastor in the Old Covenant, a woman can be a pastor in the New Covenant. Simple really. I suggest my short and free essay on Deborah. Men and women are perfectly equal spiritually. She was a pastor, according to the scriptures. This is how the Judges are described in Chronicles, by God. By the way, Deborah was married and a mother.
Chaps, that was a very good, useful discussion. However, I didn't hear the actual discussion I thought I was going to hear... the details of debate on the contentious passages. But I appreciate the grace in the discussion around the debate.
Apologies, I've just heard your closing remarks and in those you've committed to doing exactly what I'm saying this particular video lacked. I'd very much like to check this next video out!
Thanks for the kind feedback! There was so much good content, that we did not want to cut any of it out, but instead decided to have two episodes, and that seemed to be the natural spot to end the first and begin the second. Next Thursday, the second part will become available. Have a blessed Resurrection celebration!
Hello @JesusSavesLA. Thanks for your perspective. However, I would respectfully disagree. I think Dr. Schreiner's approach is going to be much more persuasive than someone who is more "forceful" and puts his "chest out" with "bass in his voice." Schreiner is making the biblical arguments, and letting them stand on their own - which they will and do.
This looks like it will be a great broadcast!
It was a great discussion!
Great content!
@JPMartinezBlog thanks for the kind feedback!

@8784-l3b how does one get a copy of your essay? Thank you

I want Dr. Schreiner to be forceful and state the truth of male headship with his chest out and some bass in his voice. He's coming off a little...🍦
