What a top man John is! His generosity is mind blowing. Hope he realises he is helping not only you but all of your subscribers too as we know we can look forward to future videos created using the drone.
First, to John: you are awesome - I don’t want to speak for all the other subscribers, but from me, thank you for the gift - love Ian’s channel and this is an incredible contribution to an incredible creator. Second, I love my 18-55 lens. It’s the little lens that can, super sharp, fast if needed, light, great focal range. Only wish it had 2mm more on the wide end, some of the time. It’s my zero lens, when I get home I reset to this lens before the next outing. Thanks Ian for all the great content!
Amazing to hear your story Ian. Good things happen to good people, I love your channel and I can see why John has been so kind and generous. Keep up the fantastic work and look forward to seeing some drone footage! Big shout out to John, incredible gesture that will bring a lot of joy to many. 👏🙏
John top bloke what an amazing gesture. You know RUclips really is a wonderful community our audiences really care and support what we are doing I recently saw another channel who lost there campervan to fire recently and some one started and ran a crowdfunding campaign to raise enough money so they can buy again and keep the adventure going. Just don’t see this anywhere. Thank you RUclips followers everywhere. Looking forward to your drone videos Ian
Heart warming to know that there are people around who do things like this.... well done John. Anyone who has lost a piece of equipment (I have killed 2 cameras accidently & seen my filters float down a river) will know how you were feeling Ian - what a great start to 2022 for you. That looks a cracking woodland and I have quickly learnt that banging the iso up on woodland it]s not such a bad thing - its something I believe you can get away with, especially in a very deatiled (cluttered) shot. That last shot would make a great jigsaw :) Atb Alan
Great vlog Ian and lovely photos. There’s a lot of negativity in the press and on social media about us human animals. But there are so many people who show great acts of human kindness, so thanks for sharing that with us.
Thats a great film, not only for the photogrpahy content and the quality of the film-making but also that story of John's generousity. Thanks for sharing
Always a pleasure to watch your videos! The effort you put in them is clear in the end quality :) all the way from the beautiful b roll, to your analysis in composition building, then the awe of the final photo. The nature audio capture makes everything wrap together perfectly. Gets me inspired to work harder in my landscape photography. And hats off to John, beautiful act of kindness :) Happy New Year to all!
Ian, you thank all of us but in reality it is those of us that are viewers that owe thanks to you for taking us along on your journeys. Your laid back personality invites us to join in. And thanks also for telling us all about the gift from John. Yes, it is hard to believe some times, but there are a lot of very kind and special people out there. Looking forward to your 2022 work.
Great shots even in those conditions. Makes me want to go out today even though it is raining where I am! And shout out to John for his generosity! That says a lot about you too, Ian. He recognized that you would be a worthy candidate for his very kind gift.
What an amazing act of generosity, John!! Ian, I know you know this but your fans do love you and the work you are doing. John just gave you the impetus to keep at it! Lovely video as usual. I always learn from you and also, the fact you used the 18-55 made me feel better. I always hesitated using it for landscapes. Thank you.
Nice job today…as always! Thanks for sharing the drone story! In these troubled times it proves there is still good in the world! Keep up the great work!
Blesses my heart to know that John appreciated all that you do and showed his support in a generous way. You are exceptional in your craft and the spirit in which you share your gifts and insights. Loved the compositions and the way that green moss just pops! Someday I'll live near some woods again.
What a generous gesture and I see from this video that you were genuinely blown away by this . I thank John for his generosity and look forward to future videos from what I consider to be a very genuine photographer and person. Atb Joe
Ian, a way to get around the problem of wind with long exposures is to take two photographs and selectively combine them. One is taken at a low iso and long exposure and the other at a higher iso and short enough shutter speed to stop the motion. I first learned of this from Adam Gibbs in one of his videos :) In most cases the areas that move are small and the increase in noise in the substituted areas isn't noticeable.
I've done a video on this particular topic a year or so ago, for my woodland shots though i prefer to keep my edits as simple as possible. The video is linked here if anyone would like to watch it ruclips.net/video/Bg2yOSaZODw/видео.html
Lovely images and video Ian, I love a mossy oak. You are a thoroughly good human and deserve acts of kindness like you received. I think it shows how much people appreciate the time and effort you put into your channel. All the best, Paul.
Really liked the first image , I do find woodland a real challenge but I do enjoy it . Great to hear your story of the kind act of a stranger really does re establish my faith in humanity especially in the current situation we all find ourselves in. Looking forward to seeing more from you in 2022 , happy new year , take care.
GREAT to see you out again Ian - what a way to start the New Year! Some wonderful woodland images! A BIG shout-out to John for the drone kit..........brilliant! See you on the next one.
Great shots Ian. "Pay it forward" comes to mind doesn't it re: John's act of kindness? The act of giving (not selling) seems quite rare these days. Certainly I prefer to give things away I'm no longer using or have a need for rather than sell them. But I know not everyone is wired that way.
A big thanks to John, a fantastic thing to do . As for the images, that final one was supurb ... looking at the video footage I thought, 'what can he produce from that mess?' ... and you demonstrated yet again that it's the ability to visualize an image that really sets good photographers apart from the ordinary. Best of luck for the year ahead.
Great video Ian in a great location. Love the images in an environment that is really challenging. A really big shout out to John for a really kind gesture. Look forward to more drone footage in the future. Thanks for sharing👍
I enjoy the videos this you produces, you puts a lot of effort into producing entertaining/educational material showing the thought into getting good composition both visual and technical.
Amazing work, Ian! I absolutely love your channel and your work. Big thanks to John and his kindness. Sharing is one of the most outstanding actions that only humans are capable of. Happy new year, mate! Keep it going! 🤘🏻
The Air 2 is a great drone, you are going to love it. It's my first drone, and it's been 100% so far. Mine has been so many interesting places that I would be bummed if I lost it for sentimental reasons! I think John deserves some prints... 🙂👍🏻
@@ian_worth The only hitch is the DJI fly app requires a 64 bit Android OS and not all Android phones run that. And, you have to get the app from DJI, not the Google Play store. If your running an iphone you should have nothing to worry about.
Ian, you did a great job again! It was relaxing, easy to follow and you achieved beautiful images! By the way your cinematic footage was also great! Thanks man, you deserve so much more attention = subscribers :-)
Thank you. Just found your channel; liked and sub'd. Question: My Fuji 18-55 is not water resistant, do you have a WR model, or is the lens just that robust?
Nice relaxing video and great photos, Ian! And yes, there sure is kindness in this world. Amazing photo at the end, it's almost from a SF-movie, from a alien planet - the different layers give also a nice depth to the back of the scenery.
