I like what you said about Sam Sulek. While my content is a little bit more produced than what people are saying Sam's is like, my editing is really simple with not too many fancy effects going on.
Biggest Takeaways is implementation of AI to save time. Also, I never wanted to kick off the channel because I didn't have a studio and the best lighting or polishing tools. I want this to be a labor of love to solve problems, not necessarily a money making stream.
Woooo Hoooo!!! “Not having all the flash, not needing the perfect intro or thumbnail, not needing to outdo your last insane video, no cuts, the anti trend, stripped down opposite, raw and authentic.” FINALLY MY TIME HAS ARRIVED!!!! I’m 77. I’m an old man. Hear me roar!
Kinda weird. I started doing long and then added shorts and things seemed to get worse so I stopped doing shorts and then views got better. Started incorporating shorts again and videos are still doing good again, sometimes better.
Another sound advice. And I’m not trying to impose. I’ve learned a ton from this channel. From my experience, the key to financial success in content creation lies in producing long-form videos, while shorts are the golden ticket for rapidly boosting your subscriber count and gaining widespread attention. Remarkably, I’ve gained 40,000 subscribers in just the past two weeks through my shorts. However, it’s crucial to remember that passion is the true driving force behind sustained success, surpassing fleeting motivation. Strategize thoughtfully, allow yourself time to recharge, and whether you’re creating long or short content, always aim for conciseness and directness in your clips. This approach ensures your content remains engaging and impactful.
You are amazing! This video is full of valuable tips and insights that are so relevant and helpful. Particularly delighted with the return to authentic, real human conversation and connection versus Hollywood-scale theatrics. I want to tap into the huge confidence gap and micro-pivot. Without confidence, agility or adaptability is futile. (Both EQ skills BTW) Huge thanks! Keep up your great work!
Only just found this, but I am happy that finally there is a video that isn't just throwing buzzwords out and being vague. You explained everything nicely and to the point, thank you! 💖
I’ve bought two courses for personal branding and RUclips, and the information on todays video is better than most paid content! I will be implementing this information immediately on my new channel…thank you Think Media 🥇
Same. I bought a course and have found some free content that has been even more helpful. It’s so hard to know who to really purchase information from. I really would more information on becoming a UGC Creator but I afford to waste any more funds on useless courses.
I love your message “never normal” which is why I created a channel for mental health . I have ADHD and want to start another channel . I also get caught up with all the post production and designing thumbnails on that I get tired . I am good at being authentic and raw but I also have imposter syndrome . I see a huge trend for mental health issue
1.) My predictions for 2024: Content creation will grow globally and profitably, creators will adapt to AI and use it for the right reasons, and cybersecurity will be in higher demand. That's all I have for now but there is much more though we are halfway through the year. 2.) All the trends you listed are relevant for this year and the years to come. As for me, I'm seeing more lifestyle trends on RUclips. I love that people openly document their lives and are authentic. I look forward to seeing that more. 3.) I'm pondering on whether I should start posting RUclips shorts consistently. It's officially been a year since I posted my first video and ever since then, I've been focused on videos alone. I just don't want to kill or negatively trigger the algorithm. There are many things I struggle with as a new content creator, but that's one idea that's sitting in the back of my mind.
Thank you very much! Very helpful video. I started my youtube channel for personal use then I thought maybe it will be useful for someone, someday... 😊
Thanks Sean and team. You have a way of presenting information that simplifies a highly complex and agile environment (such as RUclips content creation), that is inspiring and educational. Well done again
I’m a high school teacher, I think I’m going to tap into viewers wanting more real and authentic content. Lots of “top 5 teaching hacks” etc out there, and often it’s superficial gimmicks. I’m going to focus on building relationships with my audience by providing longer videos packed with genuine and practical advice for new and beginning teachers. I’ll be using AI to transform my long form content into short form to reach different audiences, but always be leading with authenticity. Mostly, I’m looking forward to building few, deep connections, rather than getting thousands of superficial ones.
Love all this. As a new influencer this info is encouraging. Any trends in new influencers/content creators doing collaborations to build stronger community/networking?
This has been one of the most valuable peice of content to come out of think media going into 2024. Small nuggets with a huge impact. I bought your course in the digital sale in December and I’m working through it. Amazing and potentially life changing for time. Thank you guys
My biggest take away is to do my course I got from you last year. AND you are amazingly knowledgeable articulate and encouraging. Thank you Sean Cannell. Rhymes with RUclips channel 😂😊❤
If you have a podcast, that makes it easier to be multi format. It's still better with a team, but one piece of content can be used for long form, podcast, live and shorts.
I was thinking about that too. I'm experimenting adding Chapters to my videos when they are 12 minutes or longer. It definitely makes it easier on REPLAY for getting to a certain point 🙏🏽
I've heard some "RUclips Gurus" say that chapters actually hurt your retention, but I think that when you're doing a list (like in this video), it can actually help! What do you think,@@Stevonjbiz ?
Yes, please bring on more UGC creation with other UGC experts. I would love to hear more about how a new creator who works with brands used in my protocols, and use UGC in my strategy. thank you for the great work!! I am a new subscriber. Love it
Video a long form podcast, broadcast and cut sound bites the way mainstream media used to - to tempt the audience or tease them into clicking for more info. Cut the longer form into shorter form teasers or ads for itself. Recut longer videos with entertaining .gifs etc. So it doesn't get boring to watch.
Hey Sean, I love the way you over deliver. I'm going to steal this idea for my next video. 7 POWERFUL ways will turn into 10 Powerful ways 😂. Thanks for the inspiration 🙏🏽
I think my biggest challenge may be my own doing. Long before I joined VRA, I had settled on mixing two niches technology and tools. I thought because I’ve known a lot of people who like to tinker with both, that would translate to an audience on RUclips who are that way. Growth has been slow for me, but I finally hit 1k, now I’m working on getting watch time up aomI can get in the partner program. I think my focus now just has to be creating the best value I can for my viewers and interact with them in the comments. I love the idea of more authentic videos. That’s generally my preference as a viewer.
This isn’t my main channel but I’d recommend monetizing before you get into the RUclips partner program if I were in your field I would hope on Amazon or other places that sell the product you like and start making videos with affiliate links
I feel like shorts will spike your sub count but eventually kill your channels long form content because those that watch shorts don’t necessarily watch the long form content because when the algorithm recommends your long form videos to your subs from shorts and they don’t watch, they don’t recommend your video to others which happened to me.
I hate the longer videos. If they aren't an actual movie, I scroll past anything over an hour. Some things I won't click on if they are over 20 or 30 minutes.
I actually jumped on some of these trends last year. I create long form and short form content already and recently tried my first live event. I've been toying with the idea of doing a live event for a while, but I had some safety concerns, which I am still investigating.
Great insights on the upcoming RUclips trends, Sean! For entrepreneurs looking to leverage these trends, remember that RUclips's algorithm favors viewer engagement. So beyond just creating content, prompt your viewers to interact by asking questions and encouraging comments to boost your video's visibility. Keep it authentic, and your audience will grow with you.
Hi Sean. UGC Content and strategy is incredibly important. Pls do go more independent on this as it will also get companies such as myself to follow through on this
Oh come on! One minute RUclips is pushing shorts. NOW they are pushing long content?!? They run this place like a drunk drives a car…all over the road. Pick a lane RUclips and stay in it!!!
The fast paced mr beast type of editing is also not the future. If you want to stand out anyways. If you want to compete with the large channels that have people working for them then the retention rate style is for you
You tube tests algorithm and changes it all the time. Best thing is to do what you are passionate about. If your attitude is miserable that's the results you will get. If you are passionate about both shorts and long form then do both.
I’m about to start new, does it make sense to use two cameras at same time to capture wide and vertical for RUclips and tiktok? Just wondering what makes sense
Really interested in finding out more about UGC. We've just launched our channel with 0 subs and are looking to build our community. We have started to create adverts for our clients (yet to publish theses) but want to move into creating UGC adverts...
1:27 Despite RUclips shorts getting 70,000,000,000,000 everyday, they are absolutely not my thing. 😅 Pass. ✋🏾 7:15 Disclosure requirements and strict labels on Artificial Intelligence will be an absolute must in these AI-Obsessed times. 🔦 8:25 I really hope so. 😐 No need for people to copy everything the #1 most Subscribed RUclipsr does. 😬 9:07 Sam Sullek, yoooooo! 💪🏾 First I heard Roberto Blake talking about him, and now you are, too, LOL! 😂🤣 21:20 LOL at the Pacific Northwest stereotype! 😆 Pacific people are also pretty big on the electric cars. ⚡ 27:52 "The election year is going to be very interesting" A lot of countries in Year 2024 are holding elections. 😐 Indeed this year is going to be PACKED! 📦 29:55 "It's always good to have a long-term vision, but the path to get there will not be a straight line" Harsh truth... 🤕

Hear me roar!
Wow
This gives me goosbumps
I got my first subscriber and I can't tell you how great I felt
That's awesome
I am your 100th subscriber.
I have seen an interview of RUclips CEO. He was saying use whatever format suits your creativity. some like shorts and some like long format..
Short form seems to capture new audiences, while longer tends to nurture that relationship supporting long time viewers with meatier content.
Kinda weird. I started doing long and then added shorts and things seemed to get worse so I stopped doing shorts and then views got better. Started incorporating shorts again and videos are still doing good again, sometimes better.
Think media has been a foundation of my "growth studies"
Thank you!
Love to see comments like these! Glad you got value. Thanks for being here :)

Incredibly informative and succint. Wishing everyone Happy hunting for 2024
Hi Sean, yes I would like for you to teach us and let us know more information on the UGC content.
This is great stuff. I’ve watched/listened to this 4 times so far… I might not be done yet. Thanks! 👍
Awesome, thank you!
Awesome! Good presentation and very useful topic. Thanks a million
Always a great source of information. Would love to hear more on the "UGC" space.
Yes me to. I have been starting to look into this.

Raw and authentic - sounds like me, mainly cos technology. Learning every week.
Thanks Sean and team. You have a way of presenting information that simplifies a highly complex and agile environment (such as RUclips content creation), that is inspiring and educational. Well done again
Learning so much from your videos! Brand new to RUclips channel and have so much to learn.

Thank you for providing this content. I am one of the new content creators entering in 2024.

Great video. I really enjoyed it.
Glad to hear it!
Thanks a ton. Truly informative.
Glad you got value!!!
Sean always on point to what i wannt to do going to make a channel with all of this lol
This video is great, but I'd love to see some chapters added! I wanted to go back to relisten to a "trend", but it took ages to find it again!

I dig it. Thanks for the heads up.
Please do a video and expand on the UGC discussion that you started here.
added to the list!
The long cuts of you on the other camera side view feels kinda weird.
Thank you Sean , great content. As a small content creater l have learnt a lot

This was great information, thank you for sharing. I would agree that some more info on UGC as well as SEO would be helpful to a lot of creators.
Glad you got value from this! And thanks for letting us know you would like to see more info on UGC :)
Yes pls, would love to hear more about UGC 🙏🏽🤩
I hate the longer videos. If they aren't an actual movie, I scroll past anything over an hour. Some things I won't click on if they are over 20 or 30 minutes.

Superb work dear
