Lightgun default settings are single fire recoil, pull the trigger once and there will be a recoil. To enable rapid/automatic recoil, press and hold the 4 way joystick middle button for 3 seconds, you can hold the trigger and have the recoil all the time. To turn off recoil, press and hold the trigger before pluging in the lightgun USB cable to the port, if the lightgun is already plugged in press and hold trigger before powering on the console. To enable the recoil again, unplug the lightgun and plug it back in or power off and on the console without holding the trigger.
Any tips for calibrating the guns? The crosshair seems to drift when aiming near the edges of my screen although I'm aiming straight at the targets when calibrating. Thx
I bought the cheapest package just with the hub and guns (no controllers). Never owned a PC, only consoles and an arcade machine. Always wanted a light gun set up but wanted something simple so when i found out about these i bought them straight away. For anyone wondering i think they a great. Spent all day playing it with little to no issues other than having to re calibrate the guns every now and then which takes a minute or so to do. I have no other experiences to put them against though, so for people who own more expensive set ups it might not be for them. If you are like me and want something easy to set up to play on every now and then i 100% recommend them!
Damn, would love something like this if I could play some of my all-time favs such as Jurassic park, house of the dead, time crisis, and virtua cop smoothly.
So can you just plug and play this into your AT legends cabinet? This would seem like the ideal solution to have an all in one arcade cabinet. I currently have an old SF2 cabinet running a pandoras box EX and I have this retroshooter on an LCD in my office. Would much rather have it "built in" on an arcade cabinet. Was thinking this should be doable on the ATgames
This is a better deal than getting the 1up Time Crisis. This also only has the first Time Crisis but has another special edition of Time Crisis and three Point Blank games, Lethal Enforcers 1 and 2, Area 51 and Maximum Force, House of the Dead 2 but not 1 or 3, and more. I could use this in my 1up T2 or a modded cabinet with Big Buck sides and 19" monitor, with wood bezel that fits 3/4 width which I might theme to HOTD2.
I received mine a couple of weeks ago. As far as the Panoras Box goes it's better than others Ive tried, mainly because you can switch it to 4:3 and it remembers the setting for each game. The games are decently categorized considering there are 5000. Almost 2000 of those are NES and Genesis, but most of the rest are arcade. All the games I've tried have run smoothly. I haven't even gotten around to setting up the guns, but they feel well built. Seemed like a good deal to me.
Aahhh man, this brings back bittersweet memories. I had the PS1 Time Crisis port, and it came with the red gun. That was about my second-favorite game at the time. Eventually, it just... got lost. I suspect a "friend" stole it, but I dunno... seeing one again...😮💨
seems like a cool little device! if they could knock $40 bucks off or something and have just the two guns and pedals I'd seriously consider getting one, I just don't need all those extra pads the mrs. and I do own the atgames legends joysticks so we're good on that! would definitely be the dream to own one to play one of her favorites in the arcade, AREA 51!
As soon as I saw Jurassic Park on there I was sold! Sure it's only 80plus shooters on it, but still you'd had paid more than that for ONE of these games back in the arcades back in the day. Can you imagine how much that JP game would have cost brand new? I remember being blown away by that game upon release in my local cinema. Been wanting to own it over since. Now all I need to complete my retro gaming life is a set up like this purely for racing games, home and arcade!!!! Now THAT would be my dream setup. I know you can do that yourself, but I havent got the time nor patience lol. So here's hoping someone out there wil eventually do it!
Model 2 Emulator runs the arcade version decent enough, though I don't know if it's compatible with this Pandora's Box thing. I play it with Sinden Lightguns on my PC
Very good review. This is how a review should be done. Other youtubers review a product and dont show the product. All we see is their damn face the whole time. Great job. Keep it up.
Very interested in hearing what your experience is like with these guns using the PC hub. I need a good economical gun solution to use with my own build.
Omg no way! This is awesome ! Arcade 1up are making time crisis home arcade with the guns. However it will be like $750+ and that’s too much. This basic set like you recommended I think is perfect. But wanted to know : Do the guns recoil ? Can you load more gun game roms to the console?
Did you find the documentation? The QR code that came on the card pulls up all of the instructions. Talks about the dip switches on the bottom (designates player 1 and 2). Tells you how to adjust recoil/rapid fire…turn off/on etc. the instructions are helpful
I really like this always been a big fan of light gun games glad something like this was made! I agree I wish arcade versions were included, I hope there's a way to add games
If this had some kind of homebrew scene where people were actively porting arcade shooters to this thing it would absolutely be a home run, but does anyone know if that is a thing? Or is it just basic console emulation and not a proprietary software running these games?
It's emulation only, and they're usually an Android box (usually Allwinner or possibly Rockchip processor) with a custom main activity which replaces the launcher, which is shell and emulator all in one, cobbled together from bits of open source emulators. Traditionally Final Burn Alpha does a lot of heavy lifting in Pandoras, but you also find pieces of MAME in there plus some other emulators.
you can add whatever game you want up to dreamcast/naomi/psp if you have the pandora box 10th.. but not extra lightgun games, btw if you buy guns with the extra hub you can use them on pc also with teknoparot /retrobat /coin ops etc

Might try this with my launch box pc setup. I’m sure the sinden is nicer but it’s more expensive and I never card about the white box around the image. Maybe it’s just me but it takes away a little bit of the experience
As far as I know, switches like that (dip switch) are either set up to be used as a group of individual switches, (on/off x3), or the software interprets them as a number in binary. The max number of settings you can get with 3 binary digits is 7. I'm not an engineer, but I strongly suspect you won't break anything by fiddling with them, since you know how they were set originally so you can go back, and they're clearly accessible by the end-user.
I've never used a pandoras box, is it possible to swap out console ported games and install the arcade versions instead? I see it has a removable sd card so maybe?
hi, I installed new psx games for lightgun on my retro shooter pandora box but I noticed that the line of sight only moves with the analogue. have you ever solved this problem?
What size tv would you suggest. I had my Pandora on a larger tv and is was lagging, not sure if it was the tv or what. Older smaller tv it works great.
