Just received mine, and I really love it. The standard package already was so much fun, but this is a great addition to the Retro Shooter. The only disadvantage compared to the standard supplied pistols is that it is more difficult to aim without turning on the crosshairs. But for some games the machine gun is just perfect. I'm 60 now. I grew up as a teenager in the late 70's and in my 20's in the 80's. I spent a lot of money playing in arcades. I have been into emulation since MAME started. It still seems odd how you can play these amazing arcade games for nothing. I have one of those cheap TV box systems with 20K games. I think I spend more time in the arcade games section than any other. I am surprised none of the companies are not sued. But that's China I suppose.
I've been working on mame development for ~25 years so far. Many of those games came from me hehe! They don't get sued because most of the arcade companies don't exist now and those that do don't have any control over their games as many were licensed for a limited amount of time and those licenses expired and the company that gave the license is long gone. Some of them even release retro game packs officially and they are using the same roms that emulators use because they lost or threw away everything 20 years ago lol. The emulators can't be sued because they don't ship the games with the emulators. As for China, well it's China... no one is going to try to sue some faceless chinese company for bundling everything together and selling it for what equates to 3/10th of a cent per game.
Dude! I haven't seen one of your videos in months. I was going through the cheap to the cheap, cheap withdrawals. I thought you stopped making these, which made me sad. Glad to see you still doing your thing. Addendum- That light gun looks nuts. It's like a cross between an HKMP5 and a G3! The damn thing even has a selector switch. Oh the pistols are Glocks with laser sights or they look like it. Freaking sold! ;)
Operation Wolf 2 was called Operation Thunderbolt. It is in the Pandoras Box build I got the with Retroshooter Pistols so I assume it is in fact bundled with the MX24. Infact, looking at the video it is in there as game 5125.
Pro, Gold or Platinum are all fairly priced for what you get. If you bought all these items separately you would pay less... but... ...to set this up yourself takes days for even experienced old school emulator pirates like myself. Maybe weeks for people that don't know what they are doing.
Are you able to turn off the solenoid completely? And also, I can plug this into the power hub and then into my PC directly? Or does it have to go into that box and then the PC?
I have the Lethal Enforcers I & II with the g*ns on the Genesis/MD. It was so much fun. We'd play through for hours since you could just keep continuing when 1 or the other player lost all of their "stars". I still have CRT around that I use to play those and the GunCon games on a PS1. Those GunCon games were very underrated, yeah, it was expensive getting those controllers but for multiple games it wasn't a bad deal. I was always a fan of the sh**ters in the arcades and those brought that experience home. I am seriously looking into package...Thanks!

I installed my original Retro Shooter kit in a Arcade1up cabinet that was originally powered by a wii system with “House If The Dead” theme. All cables are out of sight except the normal gun cables and worked out beautifully!

Heey hey, Als je alles wilt is een PC met Teknoparrot wel the way to go. Voor basig games tot PS1, Dreamcast is de base console prima van Retro Shooter.
There is no Sega Genesis light gun games? What would make this gun even better if they added additional reload button in the mag like in the Terminator Salvation Gun. I'm thinking of hacking it with a Dremel and then adding and wiring a cherry switch and a spring and 3D printing a new mag that will slide in there. But I'll see it if it's doable once I get it.
I'm sure it's much more fun than the overpriced Arcade 1UP machines. Maybe the same price when you purchase it all, but the one you showed just looks more fun!
Has anyone tested how well this works with two guns or more? There's a lot of 2-player lightgun games out there and a handful of 3-player and 4-player lightgun games too.
Edit: everything came in and it does work on my 85 inch. I just move the sensors slightly in and it still works flawlessly. I figured they would have issues detecting. I was hunting bucks until 3 in the morning. Lol
In your previous gun review... you stated that those guns had Solenoids... and people in the comments stated, that it was a Motor drive system, instead. It might be a good idea, to actually show photos of the internal mechanisms... or... to actually take the guns apart. I cant imagine them being that hard to re-assemble. It would be good to see what kind of Mechanisms are in them... as well as what parts they chose to use. For example.. are the Triggers using a Microswitch? A Roller-Style Microswitch? A Leaf Switch? A Contact Pad switch? Etc. Obviously... do the tests first, before taking them apart, "Just in Case". A long time ago, I had bought a gun that had a motor drive feedback system... and it was weak-feeling, compared to the arcade solenoid powered guns. So, if these are actually solenoids, and using the same type as the arcade guns... it seems like these would be a great solution. My only complaint, if I heard you correctly... is that they didnt hook up programatically controller feedback, for use in Terminator 2. Mame has the capability to output the proper speed control signals.. but I believe you currently have to use another piece of software called "Mame Hooker", to be able to get the actual feedback to the Devices.
The switches are all microswitches nowadays. Well everything is micrswitches since the early 80's. That particular gun is a near perfect copy of the one used with Sega's Ghost Squad. I have the original arcade one here and it uses a 24v solenoid to hit a piece of metal that bumps against the shoulder support. The copy will be the same because it wouldn't make sense to change the design. But yeah would be good to see the insides of it. Pity because he opens those crappy android boxes but not the impressive controllers.
The link to the mx24 kit shows you the mx24 you can buy, but the IR sensors aren't included and you can't select them. Tbh their website is a mess, several different links to get to the product, you have to add the sensors and pay an extra $30 as well, together with the $57 for shipping.
6:40 Wow that's a near 100% copy of the proper gun from Sega's Ghost Squad. I really need to get me one of those. It requires a bit of luck to get them into the country though. It depends on who's taking the shift at customs hq. If you're unlucky it's a guy with a man cave who doesn't have one of these then suddenly from no where he gets a free one at your expense claiming they 'confiscated' it due to import rules... which actually means... Thanks, I'll enjoy it in my man cave at home :-/
@@theretroshooter This is Australia. There are VERY strict gun laws here. Basically no one has guns except special people with a large property / farm and a reason to need a gun. Even black Sindens are confiscated here. Blue and red ones are allowed but only after the Sinden guy made some changes to the design. Basically politicians and lawmakers here think anyone and their dog will try to use a plastic gun to rob a bank... they are THAT stupid lol

@@WickedGamerCollector Yeah it needs a minimum i7 6700K to run Time Crisis in MAME at 100% speed. I know this because back in 2015 I updated my PC with a i7 6700K just for that purpose hehe!
From what I read so far 1. I am the least sure about that. I think on PC you can configure it but not on the Retro Shooter, but don't quote me on that. 2. Yes (on PC only) 3. It's not a button. All it does it transfers recoil for more immersive real gun feel.
How do I get the gun and the system in one package I'm asking because when I look the gun up without the console for some reason it costs more than buying the console with two guns so I'm thinking it might just be cheaper to buy everything in one package

I'm sure it would work with MAME too and likely Teknoparrot too. I think it's worth it. The real arcade gun just for Ghost Squad is over $1000 and to get a whole Ghost Squad cabinet would be 3-5 times that.
No way would that get past customs in Australia. Nor do i think would that bigger black gun be considered legal. Too realistic. Ill stick with my grey Sinden. No sensors all over the place and Batocera plug n play ready.
yeah a real shame here in au they have a lot of customs people with man caves... one day don't have a light gun and the next day they get one for free lol. I have 3 blue sindens I ended up removing the solenoid as it makes it too heavy to use for a long time. But the sinden has a bad design handle that hurts after playing a few minutes. pity they didn't just straight copy the guncon 1 which is a pleasure to use for hours.

lol its funny how all the games that have NO AIMING Crosshairs on the original game now have them re added in. Assuming you can turn them off? sorta changes the gameplay if 95% of the games dont use crosshairs, point and shoot vs drag an aim, changes the concept of the game
@@BanditsBest686 It's definitely not dumb. People like to cheat and that crosshair makes the game easier. It's good for training and people can turn it off if they want to later. There's a billion people on this planet.... you do know you can't control any of them and tell them what to do, right?
@@BanditsBest686 you can turn it off. If it was in the game originally like T2 then you can't turn it off. But many YT videos show the crosshair so that people can see where the gun is pointing since you are not looking down the barrel while watching the video.

Gun is based on the Ghost Squad (also used for Rambo) arcade lightgun, a very comfortable lightgun :)

I ordered the 2 MX guns. do these 4 IR sensors work on bigger tv's as well? I have an 85 in Samsung.

So Time Crisis Mame won't run so far I know of.

That's why you get FireBase with the guns. You can connect to PC and you can even play more recent arcade games with TeknoParrot!

You can add them to your SD card, the ROMs are online and if your console has updated they will play.

we have shipped a dozen to AUS already and all have made it past without a problem. This is also plug-N-play with Batocera V39 and on.

Best off just getting a free crt tv or a cheap one and use the real deal.

lol its funny how all the games that have NO AIMING Crosshairs on the original game now have them re added in. Assuming you can turn them off?
sorta changes the gameplay if 95% of the games dont use crosshairs, point and shoot vs drag an aim, changes the concept of the game
the crosshair is for legitimate use with a gamepad controller. it is added by the emulator and can be turned off.

@@BanditsBest686 It's definitely not dumb. People like to cheat and that crosshair makes the game easier. It's good for training and people can turn it off if they want to later. There's a billion people on this planet.... you do know you can't control any of them and tell them what to do, right?

@@BanditsBest686 you can turn it off. If it was in the game originally like T2 then you can't turn it off. But many YT videos show the crosshair so that people can see where the gun is pointing since you are not looking down the barrel while watching the video.
This thing is trash. It's missing to many games and has input lag
If you don't like it you can always use a PC with the guns.
