Thank you, Man! Clear instructions, quick video, organized... Just what I needed and it turned out great.
Decided to take my reels to the next level since i bought a nice camera. Just made a dope reel and was looking up export settings, you just SAVED all my hard work lol. Thanks so much!
Whatever
@@brendensmith9383lmao 😅
This is awesome. Super engaging and informative. Thanks!
Reels are king , its been 6 months that im watching this introduction , helping me to get idea for creating trailers and introductions :))
That intro was epic. Great video my dude!
Glad you liked it!
yo!!! thank you for finally being the video to help me!!!!!!!!!!
So u basically left everything on default, where is the secret? thanks for wasting my time
I always noticed how poor quality uploads to IG Story/Reels were. Thanks to you, they look great now!
This is awesome. Super engaging and informative. Thanks uuu so much !! EPICCCC !!
i see myself coming to your video constantly
Excellent, thank you!
I love you! Jeez this really saved me :D
Hey fellow content creator, just want you to know "let's do this together" is a great hook. You should keep using that if you aren't already.
Great video, thanks!
Thank you so much! You're a lifesaver :)
Thanks for this!!
Why do you set your target bitrate to 12 Mbps? If it's to do with the reel length, my IG reels are around 2-4 mins long, sometimes more or less..
Thank you 🙏🏾 this was very helpful. I shot this workout video for my friend in 60FPS 🤦🏾♂️😂 and also a few of the clips were horizontal and not vertical like the vast majority
What about a 60 second Reel that's 45MB and won't compress any further. How do you handle that? Generally I try and get my Reels to 25MB so I can gmail them to myself and download them to my iphone. Anything over that it gets tricky. What do you do for longer form, heavier Reels/Storys that you still want to have that crispy quality?
THANKES BROO FROM KUWAIT
Thank you for this informative content. Do you think there is any advantage / disadvantage to using 4:5 aspect ratio for IG reels, rather than 9:16 for vertical video?
Thank you 🙏.. great content
Thanks so much! I am having a hard time then getting the file from my computer to my phone to upload to instagram without losing quality. I have tried vimeo, google drive, dropbox, etc. but with all of them I feel like quality is lost. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks!
If I am shooting in 60 frames, would you recommend that I reduce it to 30fps? Should I be filming all of my content on my sony a7lll in 30 fps?
What if you upload a 4k video on the computer instead of a phone? Will it keep the 4k quality?
Perfect Information'
Thank you very much!
Thank you. How do you get the exported video from your hard drive to your iPhone? I can’t just plug in my iPhone through USB like I could with Android. 🤷♂️
Doesn't IG reels force you to use 30fps timebase when you upload? Shouldn't you use 30fps for your sequence?
Whenever I switch my aspect ratio to be vertical (1080 by 1920) it changes the video preview to 1080 by 680 or whatever. But in your video it didn't change it. I can't even manually change this automation. Any tips? Thanks so much!
Thanks for the video ... What about HDR ??
Thank you
Will this keep the HDR videos as HDR after export?
Thank you very much
Hey quick question. I've been exporting my vertical videos in 4K and transferring them over to my phone. The quality still seems pretty darn good to me. Wondering if it would really make a difference if I changed to a 1080 x 1920 size?
In my experience, 1080x1920 plays better when it passes through Instagram's compression. When viewed on a phone, the difference between 4k and 1080 exports isn't too dramatic, so having to do less compression ends up being better.
@@KellanReck Would you say this is the case for all short form video platforms? Thanks!
@@PierceJordan Shoot in 4k, and Edit it down to the 1920 sequence. This will give you more options with framing and zoom during the edit.
@@george_speaks by edit down, do u mean take the 4K footage and drop it into a 1920 sequence? Or just downgrade on the export window?
@Ben Cassiani Edit it on a 1080x1920 sequence. More flexibility while editing and good size for IG
Gracias por la traducción ✨✨
Hey, what is the best way to transfer it from your computer to the phone?
Goated
Thanks, king!
so when filming video on my iPhone 14 pro max I should not film in 4k because then instagram will compress it ?
Hey brother, I am hoping you can help me! I am having an issue that I've never experienced. My video looks flawless in the premiere pro window, but when I export, it's washed out. I have tried fixing this by adding a gabba compensation cube file but that hasn't fixed the problem. There's no change when adding that gabba compensation file once the video is exported. Again, my problem is, the video looks great in adobe pp software, but looks washed or bleached out when exporting. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
I saw a video about your situation but I can't remember what they said to do. Did you find a tutorial that helped you?
@@jamilgotcher5456 I never figured that one out so I was never able to post that video 😥
Hye, got a question. When I transfer my video to my iphone it says "MPEG-4" and doesn't let me open it or use it 🙃
You say apple's don't handle 4k vids so well. I run androids, do they do better?
Thanks for this!
Been having this particular issue lately where a singing video filmed on iPhone 13 pro (30fps 1080p) , edited on premiere to add captions, goes off sync when uploaded to reels... slight delay but a recognizable one... any idea how to fix this? Been driving me crazy and can't find a solution anywhere. I used your recommended settings and it's still happening.
I’ve had this issue before when clients have posted videos that I’ve had them download remotely. I believe the issue with audio-delay may take place at the stage of uploading them to instagram. “Having a strong internet connection” is important, but this *may* still not be the issue. Instagram has bugs.
Great video. Are these good for youtube shorts too?
Its about the system you are using to upload video on social. If you use Android it will always suck, regardless of the export setting. iPhones only keep the quality of the upload, I tried many times. It's about some strong unwritten connection between IG/facebook and Apple codec.
hi! thank u for the IG settings mention...on my app, it says 'data saver' and not 'data usage'....wondering if it has changed since your post on july 28? now it's aug 10th....it does seem like the same but the description on data saver is slightly different than 'data usage'
In mine too... i can't also see the option higher uploads. Do you have a solution?
Do you use the OBS studio?
Thanks for the video 🤙
Favorite MLB team?
Great video - straight to the point! However... I think I'm still missing a crucial step... After exporting the finished product, how do you upload this to instagram reels? I tried saving the video to my iCloud and used my iPhone to upload to IG reels, but the quality is cut, yet again. Is there a way to upload to IG reels on the MacBook?
I suggest you send it from your MacBook to your iPhone via air drop, there’s no quality loss that way, and just upload it from your iPhone!
@@Noruego great suggestion! It worked! Thank you!
I’ve got a problem. After I choose my video to upload and then click ‘add’. Everything seems darker and higher contrast??
Why didn´t you check the box "Use Maximun render quality"?
What’s the best way to get the video from your computer to you iPhone ?
Hello can you also provide the export settings for fb reel and story and export for fb post.❤
I have issue when I export the video and open on my phone why the video to small? not fit my phone screen
thank u
But can you see the micro shakes in every video what is uploaded in 24 fps? I want my footage buttery smooth how can I do that?
Will this work with YT shorts?
Tried this setting and have been exporting and uploading with this, however it is still uploading blurry on IG. I have upload at highest quality checked on IG and shots I am editing are shot at 4k. What else am I missing? Thanks in advance.
I personally think CBR (not VBR) and a higher than 12 bit rate is better and will improve quality considerably.
I tried this but when I trasfered to my iPhone the video again got pixelated.
I’ve heard some people say VBR 2 pass , what do u think?
what happens if my reel is over 120 mbps where doi set the bit rate
HELLO KELLEN! Seems that you are the only RUclipsr that actually Replies to your Subscribers so let me post a Question to you! 'Prior to installing Adobe Premiere 2022 back in August, I was previously using Adobe Premiere Pro1.5 on my newly built PC! Now I have an internal 256gb SSD Card along with swapping out my old 200gb HHD's with 1tb SSD's! I am constantly running desperately low in space in my C Drive (Win 10 OS & Programs x86 only on a separate partition, no Video files!) and wanted to know besides all of the Clearing media Cache Procedures should I uninstall the older Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 from 20 years ago?
Do you ever use the old version? If not, then definitely uninstall
@@KellanReck HEY KELLAN! UPDATE! After uninstalling my beloved Adobe Premier Pro 1.5, (which indeed also works on a 64bit system, (my older Premier 6.0 only worked on my Virtual XP system) I used Adobe Premier 2022 Media Cache deletions along with all the Win 10 manual deletion methoids and gained only a few Gb's! Then I realized that I still had about a dozen finished Projects in an Auto-Save Folder and once I deleted those I regained half of my SSD space back!!
What is your opinion of using my external SSD in my General and Scratch Disks space versus my SSD C?
Not the same option the "Settings and Privact" wont go to where you show and the "account Center" is not the same either!
Great video! One question though. I have 3 IG accounts and the highest quality upload setting is only available on one of my accounts. Is there a reason for that?
Is that the newest account?
We’ll had everything right except the IG setting 😂😅 thanks boss
Actually I had created reel n 2 times,
But due to export settings my reels look like maximum glitching on whole video
funny, my iPhone X play and handles 4K video very smoothly. Even editing it in 60fps footage using the phone no problem.
Is there a way to do this on the phone?
Isn't there an additional setting on IG to make sure it's at the highest quality? Got a video on that?!
Guys! Im New using tiktok and instagram, I want to start uploading some real state videos. I'm learning how to do it. Im exporting from premiere pro software, but i noticed, for example, when i use my cell phone to upload the video, the quality looks good, but when I use my wife's cellphone, looks blury and with bad quality. Do you know why? Can anyone help me? Please!
whats the difference between VBR 1 PASS OR VBR 2 PASS?
This doesn't include posting a reel with words/ content that gets cropped when you enter reel mode vs just watching it on the feed. I followed this guide, posted a video and didn't realize my words would be cropped on the edges until far after I posted it. Otherwise, a direct and solid IG reel guide. Heads up for anyone not aware of the IG reel crop.
im in the same boat trying to find a tut on making ig reel/tiktok with subtitles without the black boxes
Hey, this is probably a dumb question but how do I get my exported file to my camera roll so I can post it?
People typically airdrop them
Does video size matter?
Are 24 fps enough for reels?
unable to find effects controls
Why did u set the bit rate that way?
How do u get the video from mac to the iphone to upload?
Airdrop
you forgot to check use maximum render quality
Ok, so I get my videos to come out of premiere looking good and even on to IG looking good.... then I add music and it goes to shit. The video get darker and flatter. Delete the music and you can watch it brighten right up. what is that all about???
What if I'm editing on IG?

12 mbs means 12,000 kbs?
Can you do one for TikTpk?
Does setting the bitrate to 17mbps cause compression when uploading?
It shouldn't be too bad!
Kellan are the high quality settings only for creator accounts? I have a business account.
It should be for all accounts!
@@KellanReck I found it Kellan! Thank you so much! I'm getting ready to upload a high quality reel of my photography.
@@jamilgotcher5456 How do you found it? On my account, I don't have this higher quality option...
Thx to tiktok... now we are force to do videos on Instagram to not disappear entirely on the platform......
Same settings for Instagram story also?!
Yes! Exactly
@@KellanReck thanks man
Wait so why do you export it for 30 frames, why not 60? I’m confused?
It’s not needed. That would make the file to large. So change it to 24 or 30 frames. Ideally, you shouldn’t be shooting at 60 frames. Unless you’re planning to slow it down.
What are the correct export settings for the best quality Reel, when you record the video with an iPhone - not with camera as Sony... (iPhone 13; camera settings: 4K 60FPS, HDR on, lens: the standard 1x)?
Because these settings work well only for the videos that were recorded with camera , but when you have recorded the video with an iPhone - it 's still low quality after uploading it onto IG.
Thanks.
I would stick to the same settings even if shooting with an iphone. Did you try it?
@@KellanReck Hey, yes I’ve tried your settings and also from another videos, but all of them are made for videos grabbed with camera. The bitrate 15 is not working for me.
It goes low quality on IG, and it didn’t work for videos grabbed with iPhone.
What worked for me probably the best so far were :
H.264
Size : 1080x1920 , 60fps
Profile High (5.1 / 5.0)
Bitrate CBR : 30
and checked Render at maximum quality / depth.
And I try that the file size is up to 100MB (not more).
But when I zoomed in the video a bit (Edit: from 100 to 120) and export with these settings, the quality went low on IG.
• I have short dance videos (20-40secs), so there is a lot of quick movement. Maybe that may have some effect?
Somebody told me to use Quicktime - Apple ProRes 4444 codec, but that file is always like 1.67GB and Airdrop cancel the transfer. Also, it was not the best quality when uploaded on IG.
I saw that many people have Reels so cristal clear and sharp, and I don’t think that all of them would have a Pro Camera. 🤔
@Karolhiina did you get workaround this situation ? I am facing the same problem while trying to upload 4k 60fps video shot on iPhone.
@@shubhammahajan9117 Hey, let's say that I've found the best option that works for me, however still it is not as from the camera. However I think it is the best that you may get from a video that is grabbed on the phone:
H.264
Resolution: 4K or HD (both are ok)
Profile: High 5.0 (the 5.1 is making problems sometimes)
CBR: 30 (is the standart I use the most), sometimes also 35 is alright - if it's not too large video.
Thanks! Make sure after exporting and uploading in Instagram, don't add any other feature... peaceee
Best way to get it from your computer to the phone?
Use We transfer
SD card and phone dongle for me
Is there really no way to upload 4K footage to instagram?
You definitely can, I've just found it doesn't handle the compression as well.
It doesn’t work anymore, my videos are compressed
Bruh!!!! Why are you showing how to do this on a computer???? Need to know how to do it from the instagram app!!
Why are you suggesting VBR (which saves file size, but reduces quality where it may not be needed), when there is no need to save file size on a short IG video that can be up to 4g in size. Seems like you are saving space and sacrificing quality needlessly. Why not hold on your video quality even is some machine says you can toss some out and it will be "almost" just fine.
Good thing that you explained nothing on the export settings and just said "this is fine".
IG needs 30fps lil bruh
video is a bit long and draggy
THATS LITERALLY BASIC SETTINGS.
