Shades of the old Rio Grande speed lettering. We had nothing but solid overcast up here in Rhinelander so no eclipse. I've never seen a full one in 64 years and probably never will. Love the Greenwich action, thanks Scott!
The Wheeling and Lake Erie locomotives are incredible looking! They are definitely on my list of best ever paint schemes! They were leading a short mixed manifest and a curve straight at us which was quite awesome. They also had a new untagged blue GATX box car. This was an amazing train Scott. Thank you and thanks for catching the Halloween colored locomotives. 😊😊😊😊😊 ❤❤❤❤❤
Nice catch of those Wheeling and Lake Erie locomotives and if you're wanting more pics of them, head over to Akron and you've got a real good view of them off of the Interstate sitting in the yard. Glad yall had a great day go fishing for some Live action as Jaw Tooth says and that you were able to catch the eclipse... 😊
We appreciate the road trip to get trains during a once in a lifetime event. I feel like im going to have to take one to get away from the Philly/Baltimore Terminal subs. Train traffic is virtually non existent here after the bridge collapse a couple weeks ago. I love it when there is track work nearby. You dont always hear trains calling out signals but you definitely hear every train asking for clearance to go through the work zone! Great stuff as always!
I figured that bridge collapse would affect rail traffic. You can`t have something as tragic as that is and not have a lot of things change in the blink of an eye. I bet it will take 5 or more years before they get a new bridge built. I like the track work for the same reason you do. The radio chatter is a godsend sometimes when you are out in the middle of nowhere and aren`t close to signals!
@@1960gambit You got that right! The Army Corps of Engineers are expecting the cleanup to complete by the end of the month and the channel to be redredged to 35 feet. It was originally 50 feet so not as many vessels will be able to come in but it will be open. It will be intersesting to watch for sure.
This was most likely an I&O train using CSX equipment. CSX crews bring grain trains from Columbus to a spot called Haines between Mount Sterling and Bloomingburg. I&O then takes the train, often with the CSX units, to one of the large on line elevators such as South Charleston, Bloomingburg Mechanicsburg etc. Usually the loaded grain goes back to CSX to route through oColumbus, but it can be sent to Cincinnati. CSX did technically retain trackage rights on the whole Columbus to Cincinnati line, but I know of only one time that they used it for a rerouted train.
Thanks for the info! There is a huge grain elevator in Melvin by the gravel pit where the stone trains originate. That`s only about 5 miles or so South of where we filmed this. I grew up by this line in Loveland, Ohio and it is just a ghost of what it once was back in those days. We would get 25 to 30 a day through there. Hopefully when the new battery plant in Jeffersonville opens this line will see a lot more traffic!
Yes, Scott, I think that first train was a CSX grain train, because those two engines look like Gevoes to me so they must have track it right down to them grain elevators to load grain because it was empty I believe but anyway, my friend y’all stay safe out there and watch your back and I’m glad you made the trip up there and we’ll see you on the next one
Another fab video Scott, great catches well worth all the travelling a nice entrée before the eclipse. Its a great place for railfans. Wheeling lovos were cool! 😊👍
Thanks for another professional video Scott. I appreciate it very much. I got so far behind the last few days I had to delete some videos I hadn't watched. I've been having lots of eye problems and can't see to watch for more than 10 or 1 5 minutes until I need to stop for 30 minutes or so. Having a hard time remembering things too. Please don't take a lack of comments personally. It's not. I was just getting overwhelmed. I feel so bad about doing it. Please forgive me 😢 Scott. 😊❤
yeah Scott we;re seeing more and more new york city trash trains through here anymore Mike on wide world of trains out of Dunkirk ny catches them headed for Columbus all the time but it looks like they're sending more to Indiana of late!!
Good made video, mr 1960 Gambit. A good place in the middle of nowhere but trains in a directions including a diamond. But today not, sorry.🚆👍🚆 Greet from Zandvoort the Netherlands.

A mixed manifest with several cars of plate steel on board (Thanks Scott) was awesome 😎! It followed a short intermodal on a different track. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
We had a great day there on Monday. More tomorrow! 😁

Very interesting video today. Loved all the different locomotives. Weather was kind again. Many thanks.
Thanks Robina!
I looked on Google Earth to see where this town is located. Looks like it is all countryside.
It is and it`s Amish country too!
Good trains. Especially loved the Wheeling Lake Erie
Thanks Greg!
Live Action!
You know it! 😂
You certainly got your money's worth for the long hours on the road! Great video!! Now I am ready for the eclipse train! 😎

Thanks Kent, I`m glad you liked it!
Need to go there sometime Enjoyed the video
It`s a great spot!
Like those Tiger stripes
I do too! Thanks Khy!
Great video, but different. Nothing wrong with that. Where does all that trash end up? The different locomotives were cool. Have a safe trip home. ❤
Not sure where the trash came from. It looked like debris from a large building demolition.
Will you tell jawtooth howdy from the dodds
I sure will!

I can believe it. That landfill South of Columbus next to 71 is massive and getting bigger every day.
That is indeed a garbage trash train
That`s what I thought. It had all the signs of being one. Lol
@@1960gambitNew York Metro & New England garbage.
Awesome train video from Scott. Were you able to film a train 🚆 during solar ellipse?
Yes. Video out tomorrow! 😁
@@1960gambit I will watch it when it comes out tomorrow, Scott.
Scott was that trash train heading towards Columbus? I couldn't remember.
No, it was going West towards Willard.
@@1960gambit oh okay then that wasn't the M 635
