    • @BeautyBird
      @BeautyBird 4 года назад +24

      jenna H The video is literally called ”Brown people edition” because the purpose is to represent brown people in the west. We are happy to finally see our people represented somewhere, and here you are being ignorant telling us to stop ”obsessing”. Who even told you how she identifies herself? You do know that you don’t change dna just because you were born or raised in another country, and u do know that people can identify themselfs with both their nationality AND ethnicity right? And who gave you the right to tell people how to think anyway? Who are you to tell people that they arent allowed to live somewhere? ”Don’t live in these countries if you can’t even identify people born and raised with the country” ehh do you realize how narrow and ignorant that sounds?

Now everyone has insecurities I don't intend to tell you what to do but before taking a major decisions think deeply about it if by doing the nose job are you been fair and kind with yourself, you were so nice to appreciate these girls beauty. What probably happened back then is when people cut nails at night they had no light, so they would end up injurying themselves.

      Chaos _779 those two girls looked super white. I don’t get it either, I’m North African and white, does that make me brown in the US because I’m not blond with blue eyes? Although Arabs and berbers and Kurdish and blablabla all have diversity in their phenotypes. People aren’t either black or white and “other:brown” lmaoo

      Chaos _779 I think middle easterners, desi, and Hispanics are considered brown because MOST are olive or tanned skin and culturally some of y’all are similar due to colonization. Yes that does not mean every single one of you guys are “brown” skin color wise because that is not true there are also white and black people of each ethnic group I just mentioned but majority wise it’s brown. And most of these people have accepted and embraced it. Just as white and black comes in many shades, so does brown!

    • @Sohiawrites
      @Sohiawrites 4 года назад +7

      Lisa Mox thanks for letting us know what our people are and what our people have accepted. Middle East isn’t a country, most people in Yemen vs most people in Lebanon are different. Let’s not even bring up Algeria and Tunisia.
      Since when is tan/olive skin brown? Are you gonna say Kim kardashian is brown? Because that’s what people look like where I come from.
      Better differentiate what people say who are from and still are in MENA vs people who live in the western world.
      btw in the US, you check the box white if you’re from MENA which is crazy cuz again MENA is diverse and isn’t a tribe.

    Asc , Im a Muslim revert from Portugal and Canada Alhamduillah ,alot of the things brought up in this video are typical Portuguese also, like covering furniture in plastic, parents threatening their children with slippers, shoes, the evil eye, feeling like they have to clean the house perfectly, pressure to get married early , being forced to eat nuts because its god for you brain, being told not to do something because of superstition, and mispronunciation of my name. So funny, but it's not surprising actually that there are many similarities because Portugal was ruled by Moroccan berbers and Arabs for over 700 years, I know that if has influenced Portugal alot but I didn't know about these specific things webhave in common so that is interesting and nice.

    On holiday in Turkey, we were in a tour group where everyone got chatting about their ethnicity vs their nationality. There was a cute white Aussie couple with us on tour; and the girl said “oh I wish we could share something about our origins but we’re just plain old boring Aussie.” I wanted to make a snide comment about how they didn’t look aboriginal to me, but my friend stopped me. She said I may emotionally damage them by shattering their reality. Funny enough, the Aussie couple were the ones to start the conversation with the “where are you from originally “ question.
