    This channel is great. You are easy to understand (especially for me who doesn't come from an English-speaking country), you seem to be knowledgeable, the lighting in the videos looks great, the framing is great and the sound is great. The videos feel very professional. Too bad channels like this are not getting more attention.

      Hi Dom, First thanks for the kind words about the channel. Second the Moana Scene crashes the RTX3080 as there is not enough Vram on that GPU. So best to stick to the RTX3090 as a minimum for this scene.

    Hi. May I ask one question?
    I mainly use the Gpu for lookdev, meaning that the materials are constantly loaded in Gpu at every tiny change while testing materials. Sometimes it takes several seconds each time, causing time loss and impatience in the end of the day.
    The actual render time for a whole scene or sequence isn't important.
    That being said, which is more important now that I'm buying a new GPU - memory/vram or Cuda? Thanks in advance.

    • @mikebrown9826
      @mikebrown9826 Год назад

      I would have to say vRAM as you are loading textures into GPU memory. But to process that texture, it requires the Cuda cores. What gpu are you currently using?

    Thanks! Thanks and one more thanks! That is what I was looking for. I use The Cinmea 4d and Redshift in my work. As I understood from your video the 2xRTX 3080 rendered in 36 sec and 2x RTX 3070 in 41 sec. So the different is not so big and the purchase of 2x RTX 3070 is more advisable if the VRAM is not so important?

    Hi, great video and very helpful. I have a query and would be really great if you could help me with the same.
    I currently have an RTX A4000 and a RTX 2080ti on my system and I was only able to run them using Nvidia studio drivers. Can’t use the Quadro drivers as the 2080ti doesn’t detect in that case.
    I did a test on one of my files which has a city scene using Cinema 4D R26 and redshift and found that I was not able to utilise both Gpu’s effectively together.
    For examples one frame rendered in 1.22 secs with just the 2080Ti but with both GPUs I was getting 1.35 secs and then with just the RTX A 4000 I got 1.55 secs so I am little stumped. They were exact same files with exact same render settings with RTX ray tracing enabled and optix denoising also enabled. All other settings were set to default.
    Is it not possible to leverage these 2 gpu’s together do I have to change by GPU. Also another point to note the RTX A4000 is with a water block whereas the RTX 2080Ti is air cooled.
    My base system spec is
    Ryzen Threadripper 3960x
    64 gb DDR4 Ram Corsair
    Asrock strx40 creator motherboard.
    And I am running them both on the 2 16x pice slots.
    Any help or information on this would be really helpful. Thanks.

    I am very much confused between 3060ti and 3060 bcz I want to learn 3D by using apps like Maya, but I'm confused should I go with 3060 or 3060ti? Bcz the ti is 10% expensive than normal one.
    (The graphics card pricing are still 50% overpriced than MSRP)

    • @MediamanStudioServices
      @MediamanStudioServices  3 года назад +2

      Well that is hard to say as I have an RTX3060ti and it is quite fast for a lower end GPU, but the rtx3060 has the 12GB of Vram. So I would have to say, go for the 12GB in the RTX3060 and render slower. When your skills increase and you create more complex scenes, the extra Vram will come in handy.

      its the 12GB Vram that changed my mind and as you are learning 3D this would be my choice for you. For production studios, i would recommend a RTX3060ti as time is money in production. And they would render on the farm for production work.

      1000W can be marginally enough for dual 3090 (2×350W + 300W for the rest of the system). 1200W would be a safer choice.

    I find vram use confusing. If you have a 3090 with 24gb and memory use is 90% and then you try same scene with a 3080’with only 10gb, memory use is still 90% and performance is similar at least in this video. How do you know if the additional memory is actually helping. Or just a waste of money.

      Yes, you MOBO can use two GPUs. But with ryzen and intel desktop systems, there is limitations to PCIe lans with direct communication to the CPU. So your systems will be limited to 8x PCIe lanes on both PCIe slots for dual GPU set ups. Now this will work and all data will be sent to the GPUs but at a lower bandwidth.

    Thanks for the video! I'm currently running dual Asus Geforce Turbo RTX 3080 cards. However I just purchased the Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti Founders Edition... I've heard that using a dual GPU setup will only be able to utilize the VRAM from the lowest VRAM amount (according to a test from Pugent, but back in 2018). So would running a 3090 Ti and 3080 only utilize the 10GB of VRAM from the 3080?
    I'm curious if running the 3090 Ti and 3080 together would be recommended? Thanks for any insight!
