Michael, thank you for doing this comparison. I have played the P770's since early 2017, and have thought they were a superb set of clubs. I have played them with KBS Tour FLT shafts. I have hit the P760 7 iron outdoors with the same shaft, and I thought the feel was fantastic. I very much like the look, feel , and sound of the club. I believe you found the P760's to be more forgiving than the P770's, and I would agree.

MNG--another great video. These new TM P760 irons are starting to wear on me. I need to go hit them--I have a feeling I will like them. Maybe not the price tag, but the feel of the iron seems to be wonderful. I know a lot of folks out there have bagged on the looks, but they simply don't bother me in the least. As a matter of fact I like the way they look, especially at address as you eluded to in your video. Again, thanks Michael.....appreciate all your content and have sent many of my friends your way as well.

Have you noticed the pre worn sole helping turf interaction? The back is no worse than Callaway's razr X forged from 5-6 years back

Is p760 more or less foregiving than the ap2 and x forged irons?

    Hi Michael,
Great video. Demoed the P760s among many others recently, with view to a fitting soon. Fitter threw them in as a surprise and I hit them really well (16hcp!). They felt quite forgiving. Would you say they're a lot more forgiving than the 770s?
I ask because is $2000 worth of 760s really heaps better than $1000 now for P770s and then having up to $1000 for lessons etc?

Michael, or anybody who has hit them. Is the heel to toe length of the P760 and the P770 the same? And how would these compare to the Titleist AP2? I have not seen all the clubs side by side myself (only the P760 at a shop recently), but from watching several videos, I got the impression that out of those 3 the P760 has the smallest head and the AP2 the largest. Thanks if someone could provide feedback.

Another great looking iron. In real life even more beautiful. I am not good enough to play these in the longer irons but I would love to be.
Which would you prefer the P760 or 919 Tour

I think his be surprised mate. I play off 18, though I am a decent ball striker with my irons, and I found these pretty easy to hit.
I hadn't even considered them, went for a fitting and had them thrown at me by surprise by the fitter. Deceptively forgiving. The hollow long irons really do help.

Yes! That strike I hit in the video where I missed it low heel felt miles away from the centre yet still hit desired distance 👍

So the P760 is more forgiving than the P770 - interesting. I own the P770 and am a much higher spin player than Michael, and I've never seen the spin drop off this dramatically unless I mishit the ball - maybe the P770 is really good for Michael to mask bad strikes - or the old GC-2 unit needs a refresh? But, I will definitely test the new P760 come January.

On another note, how have your irons held up? I have 3 friends rocking the P770 and all of them have complained about the "quality" of the iron? I have also read several complaints from others online regarding the durability of them. I haven't struck the P760, but I am looking forward to hitting them. I liked the way the P790 felt, but it just wasn't a "true" iron for me. The P770 were just an ok feel for me. Nothing great, but nothing bad either--it wasn't the "wow" factor I was looking for. Maybe I need to hit them again......I just don't like the feedback I am getting from others about the durability as stated above. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

@@amgolfer3591 My P770s have held up really well - played over 50 rounds with them since I got them in mid-2017 and there is no unusual wear and tear on them that I wouldn't have expected (I play a lot of desert golf and that's not always the most friendly environment for irons). I don't see any reason why these would not hold up for 100 rounds at least - which equates to about 3 years of golf for me. TaylorMade, at least in the US, has a great product warranty imho - I had an M2 hybrid where the hosel/shaft bonding broke after a particular heavy strike and they fixed it free of charge even though I've had the club in use for over 9 months.
Feel-wise I like the P770 and think they are slightly better than the Mizuno JPX-900 Forged irons or the Titleist AP2 - that were the other contenders during my fitting process at the time - but ultimately I liked the turf interaction of slightly heavy strikes better with the P770 than the JPX-900 Forged. Stepping up to the Mizuno JPX-900 Tour significantly improved feel and looks over the P770, but I don't hit it consistently enough out of the middle to get away with this small a club head.

I have been playing my P770's since early 2017, and they have seen over 100 rounds. I've had no issues, and they have held up very well for a forged iron. They have always felt great when hit out of the center of the face. I have also hit the P760's outdoors, and they feel fantastic. @@amgolfer3591

Good to know. I guess it all depends on who you talk too:) I was asking because people are going to be able to score a good deal on the discontinued P770's. I know I will probably like the feel of the P760's, it's the cost that kills me. You know? Thanks for the feedback, Joe.

Inauspicious Tyrant they can do something called “research”, which everyone should do. One google search will tell you which is newer. Also by your logic I guess Taylormade is confusing people going from an r510 TP per day compared to an M1.

    • @SA-ce7yz
      @SA-ce7yz 6 лет назад

@@BasedHadrian Of course people *can* do research but why make such an illogical decision in the first place? That's like having the 716 AP2 come after the 718 AP2.

You very poor shots. Even as you were swinging, you were saying "oh, I pulled that one," "oh, I didnt get all of that one." So knowing you had bad and inconsistent swings, why wouldn't you nix them? Or at least swing more than 4 times. If you take 4 swings and 2 of them were bad swings, your data is going to be garbage.
Your conclusion was "oh wow, these numbers are very inconsistent - it must be a bad club" is ridiculous. IF YOU SWING LIKE SHIT, THE DATA WILL BE SHIT!
