Park on streets where there’s already lots of cars parked…quite built up areas & apartments blocks or places where there’s house without garages & parking on streets. It might be a bit more challenging finding spots after dark or later at night, but you’ll blend in more if it’s normal for residents to park on streets. I’m coming from the perspective of stealth living in cities or large towns. I’m a 56 yo woman & not a young adventurer interested in travelling to remote areas on my own.
Great tips! I’ve been full-time for nearly 2-yrs now and except for my own home town, have never received “the knock” because I paid close attention to vids like this BEFORE hitting the road….Great advice!
Interesting tips and views, and very enjoyable to watch. Great vid. My number one rule is actually never park in front of a house. With so many carparks, ovals, beaches and lakes I always prefer to avoid parking in front of houses. Also because of the potential for noise in the middle of the night or early in the morning. Good on you getting out there and sharing with the community.
@@tashsikkes Actually, even with security patrols they can be okay. I'm just straight up honest and say I'm sleeping in my van, don't worry, I'm not here to cause problems, just sleep. Most security guards are okay with that. If they even bother to notice you.
@@tashsikkes I see. I guess I’m coming from the perspective of living in a vehicle. So I’m always looking for those details 😄 Good on you for being so adventurous!
Stealth camping might not be on the books for me. I have very severe sleep apnea so without my cpap machine sleep with the sound of a roaring freight train! I could get a surgery to help but all my doctors say its pretty drastic. I have boney growths under my tongue which pushes my tongue up into my throat blocking my airways (mandibular tori). I still haven't bought a battery in case I'm without power, they are super expensive and I"m a pensioner.
Hahaha ikr! I think because it's not a stealth van, I've had to learn the hard way to be stealth. At least most people can look at it and think, at least mine looks better than that 😅
@@tashsikkes I'm a bicycle traveller and it is obvious to everybody when I stealth camp, that's why I also abide by the rule "arrive late and leave early" by 6 am I'm already gone; never been fined. loved the video, makes a lot of sense. Ferruccio from Venice, Italy
@ferruccio4531 wow that's so cool! How long have you been travelling for? I'm so glad you enjoyed the video, I'm sure you have so many more tips with your style of travelling! 😊

Great point! 👏
Great tip I agree. I’m also in my 50’s solo living in my van. 🚐

That's so fair. I try to avoid it as well but I find ovals and carparks tend to get patrolled more depending on the area. Glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Interesting, maybe NSW is a bit more relaxed than VIC?@@tashsikkes All the best, safe travels.
not sure, I actually had bad luck while in NSW at an oval so my perspective is probably skewed lol
Gday lm also in Vic down the peninsula, thanks for the info ,lm heading off soon so any advice is invaluable thank you stay safe.
That's so exciting to hear, good luck and travel safe!
Great video!! Safe travels 😊
Many thanks! 🩷
Good tips. Sometimes an industrial estate can be used, providing they don’t have night security patrols.
That's a great idea! Thanks for leaving your tip 😁

@RomanaStarfield that's great to know you've had that experience. I suppose it'll depend on the area and who's on patrol 🤔
I like the Zombielandness. 👍
thanks for noticing! It was what inspired this entire video! 😁
Leave no traces 😊
Exactly! 🩷
Thete is nothing quiet about those doors 😂. Great list of rules!
hahahaha I knoww! 😅 I started climbing from the drivers seat to the back because of them, they are such a giveaway! Thank you ❤
Good tips stay safe & keep smiling 😁
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Park in front of another vehicle for a bit of protection against being rear ended while you sleep
Wow. Great suggestion. Never know when someone may be driving around eratically 😲
@@tashsikkes yes. And sleeping head first to the back window has worried me.
@@vandelayindustries5814 yea especially with what you just said i can see your line of thinking
She seems to only have abed. No cooking facilities, fridge or esky etc. Does she only do very short trips?
I would go for a month at a time. I had an eski and some cooking facilities packed in the back 🙂

your van is the complete opposite to a stealth camping van and your giving tips 😂
