An AC motor with switching circuit to vary speed of rotor. Probably signal fed to ecm with speed.. How clever. Thanks for taking the time to post and teach the world of utubers. Keep up the good work and never lose your curiosity!

Very COoL. Thank you (I'm a little late to the party). I like your technique. Get in and get out... like being behind enemy lines. You do what you got to do to get the secrets back to base. If I had a "extra bad" pump I would do the same thing... Well, except for the whole enemy lines thing Cheers from So.Ca.USA 3rd House On the Left.

You are right. Back in Europe there was not a single part that you can’t rebuild. Like I said, the pump looks and feels like new, but the electric part is damaged. So it definitely can be rebuilt.

I don't think it is / was a useless video. I have this pump in my Mini Cooper S 2003 (really) and so often I hear something is not rebuildable - which is clearly not true. There are many times I have fixed things that were according to the supplier / manufacturer are 'not rebuildable' - and have saved a small fortune. I have to say on this one though - I would have to agree - it looks that a simple repair, is never going to work. It is only by taking things apart like this that we can all see - what is indeed possible. I found the video very useful and informative. Thanks for posting. :-

      Thank you for the support!
Actually, in eastern Europe they are rebuilding them, there is a motherboard, that can be replaced, the moving elements as bearings, and a motor that can easily withstand 200k+ mi, the only circuit board is a failure point.
I did the same thing to the Turbo, which was a success, I ordered the kit which was $50 I rebuild the core by myself then pay another $50 for the core balance and wastegate weld. And It was a fun experience))
      Thank you for the comment!

@@Makhnovets Interesting development. I have a 2003/4 BMW Mini Cooper S - but this BMW pump didn't come on that car. What is interesting for me - is that the water pump on a supercharged mini - is run off the back of the supercharger. The supercharger (also an unservicable item - according to BMW) is corrected directly to and runs the water pump. I wanted to separate the two, so decided to run the Pierburg pump with a tinyCWA controller and therefore have the water pump separate from the supercharger. I have all this on my other car - and just in the process of moving it across. I have gutted the old aircon compressor (not used) and slid the pump inside that - as a convenient place to house the pump. Always fun and interesting using / modifying / changing standard parts. :-)

I would say that’s my main mission of becoming full time video creator or RUclipsr, I want to have that freedom of making things possible, but for time being I need to work a day job, but one day I’ll get there! Will buy a salvage bmw an rebuild the hell out of it))) will be doing pretty stupid things as lift the 3series and install oversize off-road tires, I’m not one of the guys who like to lift or lower the car, but up to me sounds like fun!)))
Sounds like you had great project!))
You can make a nice Video out of it!

I'm Ukrainian, and by mistake transfer the word for the "Microcircuit" from my language, which is 'Microskhema". Thanks for the comment. now I learn new new word)LoL))
