I use round copper wire for all my products.I used to round copper wire - magnet wire , it's the only kind I found where I lived for many sizes. I do not know exactly what type it was, can be normal copper wire, it have plating layer, and not dark by time

Why did you hammer?
With 2D products, I hammer flattening to increase the hardness. With 3D products, wire knitting together will increase the hardness. you can change to suit the material you have or your purpose
