The Mavericks and the Suns were not in the same situation. The Suns had an entirely new team except for Book and KD and a new coach. They had way more they had to adjust to then the Mavericks but I agree; the Mavericks would not trade.

The problem with Dallas and phoenix is that Dallas decided to go for depth and phoenix decided to go for another all star caliber player getting paid like a top 10 player they both only needed to build around 2 stars
Please don’t get fooled by this role players over superstars thing. I respect what Dallas did and thought they made great moves but they definitely went after Siakim first and wanted that move over the players. Once that fell through and pacers got him, then they side stepped. Respect to them for getting it done but stop lol

Phoenix suns James Jones got look at his starting line up and say can they play at a high level defense but right now the answer is no booker don't play no defense any guard will beat him and Bradley play defense but against bigger guards he struggle and Kevin Durant play defense but get lazy because he trying to keep his offense at a high level so do you trade one of your stars to get some pieces

As a Mavs fan, all I wanna say is I'm jealous of how fenomenal this podcast is. Been watching for about a year now but I watched some of the pod members longer than that and I wish Mavs had anything remotely on the same level.

This panel is delusional that Book is a superstar and at level with those guys they've mention (Ant, Luka, Haliburton, Tatum). At best, he is on the same ilk as Towns, Lavine, and team mate Beal who are gifted scorers, can score 40+ in a given night, but will predictably disappoint in big games and will not be useful anywhere else on court when their shots are not falling in.
Likewise, I was flabbergasted when Saul said after that Game 3 loss in Round 1 than Book is a top 10 player in the league. If he's being honest, Book is not a top 15 player and can barely make the top 20. For reference here are the top 20 players this season disregarding number of games played due to injuries:

Suns nation has to admit that KD is the true Batman and Booker is the true Robin, and ride KD while he is still a top 10 player. One reason for Dallas' success this year is because Kyrie has stayed within his lane and allowed Luka to run his team and be the system. Kyrie instead has focused more on play-making and defense and has simply picked the opportune times to score and take charge.

Last year, Durant getting hurt delayed a lot of playing time and this year Beal delayed playing time as well.
Phoenix is one of the worst situations in the entire league, the owner is destroying the franchise
