Making an island is hard. Sometimes you get stuck or feel you need to just create something different. Or perhaps, you want to start with a general direction to begin with. So if you're in need of some inspiration and ideas, here are 5 themed islands to get the ball rolling!

Split it into smaller sections. You could do an eclectic island like me with different sections split off for different aesthetics? I had too many ones I liked and too many villagers I liked so I have 2 that go in each area
because for them, its harder to get to places due to terraforming and decoration

I love seeing the creativity let loose in this game. And the dream codes are a great way of sharing that. I lack that spark of creativity to sculpt my island so instead I decided to keep it as a natural paradise. The most I did was recut some cliffs to better hold the natural ramps and reduced a connection river between the two main rivers to a creek.

Me who named my first acnh island jabberwock
My island’s starting to kinda develop two themes, though one is definitely dominant. One of the themes is an older European city kinda theme I guess, lots of the arched brick pathway and lots of spooky fencing. Further away from the entrance, it’s starting to develop a kinda cottagecore aesthetic.
Finally I thought nobody had he last avatar themed island that series is so good! I just finished it and this vid gave me ideas for my island keep up the good work👍🏻👍🏻
When I get my own switch lite as well as my own animal crossing game, I'm planning to give myself a challenge and make the island gothic. I find the style pretty and I feel like it would be fun to try and theme such a bright, cutesy game around a dark fashion.
The city one had me gagging. It looks so nice and clean.

I'm still working on my island, as I recently restarted from my last Island, Bamboka, a more traditional village.
This new village is called "Mahi Mahi", both named after its more tropical design, as well as a reference to Mahi Mahi Resort in Splatoon. I'm still working on the main layout, as its much more expensive and expansive than my old village, but so far its coming along great. I plan on adding a story to it for when I make its Dream Adress Available, but right now I dont have nearly enough bells for that stuff yet .-.
Hopefully you'll play it whenever I eventually finish it! ^-^

I keep watching these beautiful island tours and I’m just getting un motivated. I thought I knew how I wanted my island to look but now I want to redo a lot of things and I feel like I don’t have the motivation to. I started my island not doing so much terraforming but now I just want to change everything. It’s genuinely making me kinda sad. I also have too much empty space on my island and people always say “Put down some furniture and flowers and you’ll be good” But I want every place to be something special.😔

I’m trying to theme my island like a vintage toy chest/land of make believe. It’s got influences from vintage toys (mainly Raggedy Ann & Andy) like Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite, Hello Kitty, porcelain dolls, etc. but also some characters from classic children’s books like Eloise, Madeline, The Little Prince, and other similar items.
I'd just been thinking today how I look at other islands on RUclips and they all look so much nicer than mine. This video definitely didn't help with my self-confidence, haha. I'd only had my game since August so I should cut myself some slack, but still. It's hard not to get jealous to everyone else seems to have things more together than I do

My islands original theme was forestcore, but I have turned some areas into more rundown urban areas, like an abandoned train station, which fits nicely with the forest theme

I am working on a 50s themed island because I *Love* everything about the 1950s but it sucks because most people don’t have 50s themed islands and I’m not very creative. I just destroyed my old island and made my new one which is called Puppylove. I need suggestions for what to add to it! I’m gonna add a Drive in movie theater, a diner, and the villagers houses are gonna be arranged like Levittowns.

I've been trying to do a horror island, but Lovecraft themed. Primarily Cthulhu. From seeing some horror islands and just in general, I don't know if I have the creativity for it. Especially when I just am such a casual gamer. I have the villagers positioned in a circle around a main raised area that's meant to be the resting place of Cthulhu as if they're all cultists just waiting for the day they can raise Cthulhu. The campground is positioned to insinuate that any campers are sacrifices, dragged out of their tent in the middle of the night. The rest is supposed to be a town that would lure people into a false sense of security. I still have so much work to do, but I'm hoping that there will be some items in October to help bring things together. It's difficult to do because so far it just feels like my island is just a hodgepodge of stuff.

I wish we could make multiple islands . Island building is my fave part of the game but it’s like you build your island and it’s done. Even if theirs now objects and stuff or shops in future downloads or events where can I even use when island is how I want

2. roll with whatever stupid idea my brain suddenly comes up with
3. manage to make it look good 97% of the time
4. repeat
my island theme is mystical in the front, and then when you get to the back, it’s like a modern village!
That second to last one is nuts!
I’m working on building a castle/fantasy-themed island. I already have my outfit and infrastructure done, I just need to finish decorating.
