    Thank you so much! I was wondering if you knew how to get full algebraic simplification on the TI-nspire cx Ii cas. Something like x√x instead of √(x^3)

      That is a 'tricky' question and comes down to what one means by "simplified' version. The calculator defaults to numerical indices (as fractions), which for things like multiplying terms is much easier than a mixture of 'surd' representations. However, I do take your point that for some expressions, the fractional powers are messy. It is a similar argument when approaching 1 - x compared with -x+1, which representation is better? Would your answer change for -x^2+1 or -x^2+4x+1?
