@@jymmirachael4316 tbh I'm in the same boat haven't heard much about her recently don't know if she's just taking a break or something but hope she's doing well!
@@jymmirachael4316 She was going to release an album about 11 or so years ago and had recorded songs with Ledisi and Lalah Hathaway, but for some reason, she did not release it :/ I saw her in concert about 10 years ago and she... I don't know how to say this kindly but she did not seem ok mentally. In fact, I have heard the same from many concert-goers. Unfortunately, she seems to have been going through some stuff, but I hope she is well enough to release an album. It has been like 20 years! I wish her the best. She is my #1 favourite singer ever.
@@sebastianjimenez2211 I've heard this as well but no one ever specifies. how didn't she seem okay? I'm really concerned because she has been silent for quite a while now.
Right, she sings the emotions of her lyrics. Every time I listen to her as she sings, I keep the lyrics in mind. It's like an artist painting a picture.
It's just amazing how precise she is. Watching her perform, you immediately can tell no sound coming out of that gorgeous instrument is accidental. It's like she's fully conscious of everything her voice is doing, and also fully in control of it. It's just wonderful to see
She is captivating! Bobby Mcferrin is the closest artist that I can think of that does emotive, interpretive singing similar to this but without the raw, gut wrenching emotion.
She has even higher range then this! She sing in the whistle notes, (ie...the Apollo Performance)! She just has a God Given gift that no one else has! You would be a fool to get on the stage with her lol...
That was well impressive i think when she opened her mouth at the end she was trying match her high chest notes with the fast playing in key so she was so focused that the only way logic way bc its so dame hard i am telling you Her range is omg Your laughting omg hahaha lol but that c#6 mix is alien
It was a lot but it was done purposeful to show how free to interpret the understanding of pain that pain is sometimes sloppy and not clean it was a great interpretation of reasonable imperfection to interpret emotion
You have to take into consideration that she interpreting raw emotion and life is not always clean that is dirty and you have to interpret it as such so it got to much and sloppy but it was still clean
Rachelle is one of those artists whom I can appreciate how skilled/talented she is, but does absolutely way too much for me, and frankly doesn't sound musically pleasant to my ears; it just becomes noise at a point. Probably gonna get some heat for that, but oh well lol
sometimes she does too much but come on calling that piece of art noise? you must be a pop r&b person. i'd recommend some soul gospel and jazz coz you probably need some
@@chaelan6014 No, I'm not just a pop/R&B person; I love soul and gospel music - The Clark Sisters, The Winans, Take 6, Sounds of Blackness, Whitney's gospel stuff, etc. and some jazz. The woman is talented, but a lot of the overly exaggerated vocalizations she does come off very cringey to me. You feel differently and that's fine!
@@tylermills4812 i guess noise is subjective, but come on don't disrespect a legend like that. a total master of the voice and her tone is otherworldly on the lower to mid range, her high range is just as piercing as majority of the singers that tend to sing that high, but if you close your eyes and not look at her mouth, she's actually pleasant most of the time. it's the microphone being so up close and the studioesque mixing making it obnoxious.
@@chaelan6014 Yeah, maybe I was a little harsh with the whole noise comment; probably shouldn't have phrased it like that. No disrespect intended. I agree that when she isn't doing much, her tone is quite pleasant, so I agree. I actually do like a couple of her songs.
I think we have to take into account what she is doing with her voice. I personally differentiate between a singer and a vocalist and to me she's a vocalist. A singer conveys a message through a song, mainly with words. A vocalist uses their instrument to draw you into an experience. There is overlap of course for example Gospel singers often sit somewhere in the middle. But to explain what I mean if a singer sings the word 'pain' they generally use various vocal techniques to convey emotions through the phrasing of the word. A vocalist may instead paint the experience of the word pain through their voice using sound to draw you into an experience of the word which may include using uncomfortable even "off" vocal sounds on the ear so that the picture is painted in the hearer's mind and experienced sonically. This is why Ms Ferrell was never going to last long in the R&B/pop scene as singing and vocalising are two very much overlapping but at the extremes also different ways to approaching song delivery. And there's no shade in this, I'm much more a singer and could never do all Ms Ferrell does, it's quite an amazing art.
I agree! Her eccentricities and mannerisms are WAY too distracting for me to listen seriously. She makes some truly beautiful sounds, her range is awe inspiring and her control is astounding. She also makes some of the most unnecessarily strident, jarring, bizarre and unintentionally funny choices and mannerisms in the history of singing!
She is a sound/music savant.......never to be replaced
Both of y’all facial expressions got me going still to this day 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Rachelle's voice Is just an Instrument at its finest
yes she's extra and sometimes idk what she is doing but she has 160% control over her voice
Yes. Can someone tell me where she’s been though? I haven’t seen her do any live stuff in so long. Is she ok? I hope she isn’t sick.

Rachelle is A Masterclass Songstress Unlike No Other! She Makes You FEEL! ❤️⭐🌟✨💫💥⭐

Uh...ok 🤣
She never sings this song the same way twice. Every time I've seen her sing it, she puts a new/different/unique spin on it.
No one has the range and control like her , no one
As a SANGER, being able to song her songs.... it wont come out right WITHOUT THE FACES!!❤️🔥🎶❤️🔥🎶❤️🔥🎶❤️🔥
I forgot about this video, lol. One of the few artists who can afford to be extra and then some.
IT's just one of your best review... so funny your reactions!

i love how we have no choice but to accept the madness
This is the funniest reaction I ever seen. She is crazy possessed. So funny and and talented . Music exorcism 😂🙈❤️☀️😊
4:55 😂😂😂😂
She’s a TRUE songstress. She’s going to express and emote a song like no other lmao 😅 They do not make singers like her anymore
Love your reactions so much! Thank you!❤

She also reminds me of Jennifer Lewis' theatrics singing at the piano....lol

I might be wrong, but I think her range on this performance is : C#3 - C#6 - D#6
When you're committed to the music, you care not about facial appearance. That can be said for the likes of Jennifer Holiday.
WOW
Can you react to Tayc-Promis Juré please ? He is a french singer and songwriter, he is amazing
I could use a Betty Wright reaction.
Yesss! No pain no gain live where she hits that super high whistle note!
You reacted to this one before 😢
No it was the live performance with a huger crowd
