- Production only want Denali for this storyline to happen the first 3 episodes. After that they were done with her :(
Realized that like 90% of Denali's presence these 3 episodes is this redemption storyline (unfairly setting her up to lose ep 1 so she could have a redemption). I feel like after this (well deserved) episode win, she was done dirty because production already had their redemption storyline. But I'll do that in a part 2.

I'm sorry, but anyone who thinks Denali has a chance of making it into the top 4 of all stars, never mind winning, has to unfortunately realise the reality. Production does not care about Denali, they gave her the chance to lip sync against Lala again and her winning that was their idea of an apology after completely ditching her and her storyline, which yeah it was...kinda. Now I'm not saying that Denali wouldn't have a chance because of her, no, as I said production is in control of that. Just look at past all stars like Thorgy, Aja, Phi Phi, Latrila, Ginger, Alexis and definitely a couple more. They're all fierce competitors that either did well previously or up until their elimination. Production either didn't care (Ginger, Latrila, Aja), or used them for a specific purpose (Thorgy, Phi Phi, Alexis). Denali will most likely fall into the former category. Now they could surprise and she could get the early on Aja treatment or....well, I was gonna say early on India treatment, but India was literally in the bottom every week until her elimination after the 1st episode, but you hopefully get what I'm saying. It's sad, but facts must be faced.

I seriously hope they never do that first episode lip sync thing. I feel like it ruined the flow of the season and it took too long to bounce back from it. And by the time it did, we already knew who production favored. Denali deserved better

What kills me is that Denali was so TALENTED, and she was well-rounded as well! Her runways and makeup were always on point, she could do comedy, she could do music, she KILLED at dance, she could act, and she had a fantastic personality!
Her only poor moments were when she had an outfit that didn’t work for dance (her Pork Chop and elimination lip syncs) and when she just bit off more than she could chew in the acting challenge.
Every Queen in the finale had at least one glaring weak point - Kandy’s runways, Gotmik’s coordination, Symone’s waning confidence, Rosé’s lip syncing. Denali had NONE except a few instances of being unprepared under incredibly specific circumstances.

What happens with Denali, is kind of the same that had happen with Katya TWICE years ago, on her regular season and All Stars. We have to agree that they both were powerhouses, fun to watch and last but not least, very talented.
I think denali's storyline was more like "she is so competitive" and katya was more "she gets a lot on her own mind"
Jan and a few others also had this arc.

I mean, the producers knew Denali was top 4 material. However, everything changed when Denali destroyed the floor and runway with those ice skates
Alphabetically she was also 1st to be introduced to us in the Meet the Queens for this season. Super disappointed she didn’t make the top four - but let’s honest, she had to go home because if she made top 4 she would have won every. Single. Lip. Sync.
Denali is a prime example of how the show cares more about drama and plot twists than real character. I love Rosé, GottMik, and Symone but I feel Denali should have been in the top aside from Kandy.
Kandy absolutely amazing and I won't take that away from her, but she lost fair and square a few times and somehow still ended up staying because RuPaul and the producers displayed a sense of favoritism towards her simply because she had a big mouth and a big personality
They had to put up a riga morris to send her home, she was a clear front runner and no other girl could have sent her home, they even changed the type of song to lipsync against olivia hoping denali would flop but she didnt so they edited the sh1t out of that lipsync
I mean if we’re being honest, against Olivia who had two wins at the time and was also a frontrunner; it was a long shot that they were going to keep her. I really liked Denali, but she only had one win at that time and fairly lost the lipsync. Should she have been up there in the first place? Maybe not I think it should’ve been tina/rose. But she had a chance to fight for her spot and lost :/ all she can do now is bring it in all stars
@@shaktra1563 agreed, rosé and tina were the bottom 2 for that week, the curioud thing is that they tried to save tina, not rosé 🤣 at that point they were still invested in tina but they got bored the next episode and sent her home even tho she did way better than utica in the lipsync (and nobody cared that tina got eliminated)
To be fair after her bottom two placement the literal episode after she won a challenge try most likely didn’t see her fit for the crown, the contrast between the losers premier winner being in the bottom while the winners premier winner was in the top really set the precedent for the rest of the season.

I'm not one to love storylines in this show but they did not know how to complete one single storyline in this season. They would set something up in the first episode and then just ditch it 3 episodes later.
Ladies I have something to say:
I think she was chopped because she was too good of a lip syncer and if she reaches the top 4 she automatically wins cos duh did you see how she lip syncs. So production wanted to manipulate and choose themselves who wins at the end so they cut her off the first chance they get. Like seriously, if Rupaul says to be scared to lip sync against her I expect her to last at least 5 more lip syncs before going home.

I think with the Denali vs Rosé lipsync it was really there to complete either queens storyline of redemption because you could see it set up for Rosé with the Olivia lux drama and Tina Burners comments at the end of episode 1

When production does this, they usually bring them back for all stars quickly. Monet, JuJu, Aja, Mayhem, detox, Katya, chi chi, shangela, etc

I think production miss a HUGE opportunity to build a Great long-arc storyline for denali after the 100% pure love assassination: after seeing denali fail (against lala) we see her redemption in the next episode. Then she failed again in the acting challenge but she completely redeem in the assassination of kahmora, showing to the other Ladies her talent. From here she has a slow growth (with the deserved high placements in sg+rusical) but then her story-arc was BRUTALLY interropted in the makeover (not deserving the bottom2 at all). I think it would have made Much more sense (from a story-arc pov) to keep her at least until the top-5 episode, where she could have been eliminated """"in a more fair way""" after bombing another acting challenge (and finishing the season in 5th place, such as other legends like dela, katya, alexis, cracker or jackie)
Also, the the thing about the skates: I'm sure production did that because the show has never seen someone perform on ICE skates (roller skates yes, a.k.a. Robbie Turner)... so this was something novel... basically a ratings booster moment. The song "Be My Lover" by Le Bouche may seem similar to The Pussycat Dolls "When I Grow Up" but not really. The BPMs (beats per minute) is crazy in comparison. (I don't know how many times that song wore me out during my club hopping days. LOL!) Finally, queens should realize that this DRAG RACE and nothing is ever really over in RuPaul's world. (Honestly, I thought the whole Pork Chop thing was a way ti split the queens up for Social Distancing sake thanks to Covid.)

The thing of it is that... yes... Denali can slay a lip sync... no doubt. But... there are two OTHER FACTORS as to why she won both of those last lip syncs. No.# 1... her lip sync against Kimora was assured, because Kimora definitely COULD NOT MOVE in that tight as dragon gown. That gown was FREAKING BEAUTIFUL, and it was perfect to show off her, her body, and her culture, BUT... it's not the perfect outfit for a lip-sync especially when you have to show off your moves at the same time. No. #2, Denali's lip-sync was against LaLaRi was assured during that opening moment when she did a back flip AND a wig reveal at the same time. When that wig came off, as a viewer you think, "Oops!" But when you see her pop back up wearing another wig... THAT was the gag of the century... not to mention a brand new way to do a wig reveal not seen since Sasha Velour's cascading rose petals. I'm sure that if Denali had made it to the Top 4 and lip synced against say... Symone, maybe... that back flip/wig reveal just may have pushed her over the top & she could have won the crown. #JustAnObservation.
