This would not have happened if Carol Siemon (D) was not elected. She was the leftist prosecutor that pushed to limit the use of felony gun possession charges in hopes of "reducing racial disparities", which caused the Ingham county police to call for her resignation. The MSU shooter had a felony gun possession charge in 2019 during her tenure, and Carol Siemon personally fought to downgrade the charges to a misdemeanor that allowed him to purchase a firearm LEGALLY 2 years after his felony charge was pled down. The cause of this was not a lack of gun laws, but soft-on-crime leftist ideology that is hyper-focused on race that's being seen all across the US. If there was a republican prosecutor in power at the time (that only got 44% of the vote), he would have been given a felony with NO GUN OWNERSHIP ALLOWED and 2-5 years in prison. Did you vote for Carol Siemon or straight ticket democrat in the last few elections? If so, you're part of the problem.
@@reliablereindeer If you're a 2A absolutist, yes all gun regulation is unconstitutional. Forcing people to pay the government and ask permission to carry a weapon for self defense is surely infringing on the peoples right to bear arms. But we already have the CPL laws in place in Michigan and the governor will veto constitutional carry, so for the time being it is a felony to carry concealed without a license.
@@bayersbluebayoubioweapon8477 So? Misdemeanor crimes are nowhere near as serious as felonies, and it's standard practice nationwide to not ban gun ownership for anyone but felons... You're going to defend your cult of Democrats because the wanted to let a felon buy a gun?
Rest in Peace 🙏🙏🙏

Be quiet. Republicans voted against preventing people with misdemeanor gun charges from acquiring firearms.
Aren’t gun possession charges against the second amendment?
