Beautiful work. Your butterfly wings are gorgeous. I have a set of soft pastels that I haven't used yet...I'm not really sure how to use them but I know I want to play with them now! Thanks for the inspiration, Amy. :) I look forward to more of your pastel videos. Have a great day! :)
Hi, I'm enjoying your art videos. You say you save the pastel dust. How do you store it? How do you use it for future art products? Isn't the dust a mixture of multiple colors? I always end up with a pile of dust at the rim of my French easel and I've just been taking a paper towel and running it along the edge with a waste basket at one end. Have you ever used Inktense blocks for a pastel underpainting? I bought a set and don't know how to use them. I wanted them for this purpose because I've heard of other artists mentioning them in the Society of Pastels in America's FB group. I tried them on Sennelier pastel card and learned very quickly that water does not mix with that paper. So I'm wondering what kind of pastel paper will take a watercolor underpainting. I want to buy a set of those Unison pastels. They look luscious.
Amy, Do you have a method for sealing your soft pastel projects? Or when displayed, do you put them behind glass? I love working with soft pastels, but don't know of a way to seal them. thanks!
Wow Amy what nice comments from the art Sherpa and studiosilvercreek! I just started watching you and her and a few others. Got real Lucky🍀 My daughter and I are beginners and we just happened to find yours and a few other professional artists and we are just over the moon that we found you. +debeern1 Thank so much! Yes, you can order these on Amazon. You can also order them on DickBlicks.com. The paper I used was Canson 80 lb pastel paper, with no prep, other than taping it down. Hope this helps! I do hope you'll share your projects with me on my Facebook page! Cheers!
Beautiful! You've inspired me to do some pastels, which I've always stank..stunk.. stinked at. LOL! Those Unison colors are amazing. I must have them. Also, is that you on the piano? That is sooo relaxing.
