Additional to this comment. The old photos on the video are the photos of the band members when they were on their younger age. Ang Parokya - means "The Parokya Ni Edgar Band" Most people here call them "Parokya" and/or "PNE" because the full band name is too long. It's the nick name of the band.
PnE (Parokya ni Edgar) started as Comic Relief back in 1993, but one of their member introduced themselves as Parokya ni Edgar. And they've been together until now. They're are really good friends in and out of the band.. if you want their backstory, Chito, their frontman, have been saying it out loud in their social media pages and interviews. and they've stuck on their mantra that they are doing this not for the money, but for the fun in it. and the band is notoriously known to go beyond their set during gigs. i was on one concert and they were one of the front acts, they've got more time on stage than the front act. their 7-song set became a 13-song set. :-) been a fan of them since '93 when casette tapes were the "thing". \m/
Of all the videos I've watched from your channel, this one was the first time I heard you explained yourselves many times, you don't really need to. Some people are just insensitive and toxic. Sometimes they joke about the analytics, or suggest you to learn our language or think you're fishing filipino subscribers, don't mind them. I always read the comments and often come across comments like that when you're reacting to filipino music. I've already watched many of your videos including the oldest ones, and I really liked your honest and genuine reactions, and also how you interact with your viewers on the comment section. I hope you don't change. You've been doing great, keep it up. 🤘🤘🤘
@@ezraaec3849 What's wrong with that? Parokya has been doing that since they started. Remember Trip(Siopao na Special) which is literally a copy of creep? I love both songs.
@@ezraaec3849 Nanggagaya din naman talaga ang parokya lalo na yung order taker hahaha pero not in bad way but in a fun way na nag titrip lang sila na parody kaya para sakin idolo ko parin ang parokya
Check this time stamp on this video 10:47 That was the son of Francis M. Frank Magalona "Anak ng Alamat " means "The Son of A Legend" . He's on fire 🔥 . thanks @browzer's
One time parokya performed in my mom's company christmas party, that thing ended up being a rave party rather a corporate one. these dudes don't drink alcohol from cups they drink it straight from the pitcher or the the barrel. The supervisors and managers ended up dancing like crazy on top of tables. 😂
I remember that this song was released around the time when many local Filipino bands that are disbanding and it felt like our generation is slowly dying with them. Bands like parokya ni edgar made me proud as a 90's baby and hope that many of those bands that disbanded will make a reunion in the future. This song reminded me of how they started. Where it all began.
The song is basically introducing each member of the band, a short background to their quirky personality and how they came to be as Parokya Ni Edgar band, their bond and the friendship that was established while band go through their musical journey... 😊
Yep! "Ang" is "The"... The song is about the group's success and how time won't be a factor to their continous contribution to OPM as well as none can put them down. It also identifies each member on how they started from primary school till they reach to where they are now. The song has its comedic sense as well and in the end Glock 9 put his signature rap style into it.
its all about of 2 decades and the band still alive and kickkin and counting they are one of the famous band here in r.p.. with gloc 9 .. and son of legend frank magalona.. thanks for the react..😇😇😇
This band is a legend in the Philippines already, they are in the industry for 25 years. And this song is specifically for their 20th anniversary, and the lyrics are about each members of the band collaboration with Gloc9 and the other one is son of the Greatest Rapper in the Philippines.
The song is actually a tribute to their group for being in the industry for 20 years. The chorus says that even though they aren’t good, they are a band that can never be killed, we grow old but we’re still here and endlessly spread danger (this part is referenced from the lyrics “naghahasik na ng lagim” from one of their songs called “Mang Jose”/ this also is a saracastic way of them saying they will keep spreading their silly agenda theough their songs). At 9:16 he is actually saying that when he’s thirsty, he can even drink sewer water 😂 Actually the videos here are not about someone’s dad or anything, it’s just a compilation of their old music videos but they put it in black and white. Basically this song is telling the story of Parokya ni Edgar. The members, how they reached fame and such. Really appreciate your honest reactions to this video 👌
don't mind them haters, you both totally knowledgeable & genuine reactors, you enjoy what you do and it really entertains me a lot. I will recommend you to my friends, so keep it Up brothers!let's build empire together. haha cheers ;)
I love your reaction, its genuine and not trying to please the viewers. Thank you for reacting to our Filipino artist also respecting our original music. Keep it up guys.
Big salute to both of you you are not really filipino but you know who's francis m i really appreciate that big RESPECT TO BOTH OF YOU ROCK ON!!🤘 -Filipino
I really like you guys appreciate Filipinos songs and beat etc. I enjoyed watching your genuine reaction. Will wait for your next Filipinos vid reaction. ✌🏻 💞
Parokya Ni Edgar is one of the best Pinoy rock band locally! Most of their songs are very known even thru ages! They are from late 90sbut still they are kicking!
Parokya Ni Edgar : That was a solid band here in philippines even theyre getting old then the band still standin'like Slapshock. They can collab with other OPM legends like Gloc 9 ,FrancisM. kinda mixed the hiphop, metal, rock "hiptalrock".
@Bowzer's this song is about how they started their band Parokya Ni Edgar. It's basically they presented every band member and how they got in to the band. Last two were not from the band. Gloc 9 was also the one with them when they did BAGSAKAN that you have reacted to before. He's also telling us how he started in the music industry. Then the last one was the son of Francis M. (Francisco Magallona), Philippines King of Rap, that's why Gloc 9's last line was "susunod na sakin ang anak ng alamat" which translates to "next to me is the son of the legend". The chorus for this song roughly translates to: That's Parokya (their band name's short name like LP for Linkin Park). Even though we are not that good, we are the band that no one can kill/put down. We're just getting older but we are still here and we will spread fear (sarcasm to laughter) forever. P.s. those images and videos were all their old footages. The last one was on a school program were they became "Parokya Ni Edgar" in which they just pranked the whole school to let them sing even though they are just trippin' and luckily for them, the crowd loved their antics.
PNE, one of the best bands here in PH and they've been part our life (90's kids are waving! 👋🏼) Really love watching you guys reacting to music videos specially MV's of Filipino bands. You're really into the rhythm, background music, technicality and quality of the sounds though it's really hard to understand the language. Really awesome metalheads! 🤘🏼
This was my get ready for work song of this morning ...I loved it....the reaction was funny...I hope you guys get a sponsered trip to go see some of these bands live
ANG = THE ANO = WHAT BUT = PERO KAILAN = WHEN SAAN = WHERE DITO = HERE DOON = THERE PAANO = HOW NGAYON = NOW MAMAYA - LATER BUKAS = TOMORROW GABI = NIGHT UMAGA = MORNING TANGHALI = NOON HAPON = AFTERNOON ALMUSAL = BREAKFAST TANGHALIAN = LUNCH HAPUNAN = DINNER
I have no idea about the helmet band but some song of Parokya Edgar has parody song, like Trip" - "Creep" by Radiohead, “Alimango" - "Animal" by Pearl Jam, “The Crush (Bakit Ang Pangit Pangit Mo?)" - "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash, “Papa Cologne" - interpolates "Lança Perfume" by Rita Lee. Everytime they release a album they putting some parody song on it. If you have time guys you can check out all those songs that I just mention. Rock on!
FYI... PNE is also known here in parodying songs of famous singers and bands (local or foreign). However, they do it with their own versions of the songs and with their own lyrics... some of them are: "Trip" - "Creep" by Radiohead "Alimango" - "Animal" by Pearl Jam "The Crush (Bakit Ang Pangit Pangit Mo?)" - "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash "Papa Cologne" - interpolates "Lança Perfume" by Rita Lee "Picha Pie" - "I Will Survive" by Cake (originally by Gloria Gaynor) "Chikinini" - "Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo" by Yano "Nakaw ang Wallet Ko" - "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Guns N' Roses (originally by Bob Dylan) "The Ordertaker" - a mashup of "Chop Suey" and "Toxicity" by System of a Down "Macho" - "Macho Man" by Village People "Tange" - "The Popeye Theme" "Celfone Wallet" / "Celfone Celfone Wallet" - from the "Seiko Wallet Jingle" by Bing Rodrigo "Pedro, Basura Man" - "The Popeye Theme" "Bagsakan" - interpolates "Pollux Diving" by Keltscross and the Contra theme song from Base I (Stage 2) and II (Stage 4) as well as this song...
Exactly.... similar to a cover song. But yeah they are well known with parodying artists songs worldwide. Good list and info to everyone thinks they are liable for a copyright infringement.
That drinking problem is what you called Ice tubig which means a water in a plastic that you can buy in a cheaper price. This is very famous in Philippines
first time i watched the reaction of these guys was a kz tandingan, but after watching a reaction of the 187 mobztaz and francis M. These guys are metal guys what do you expect good job guys rock on! more power from the philippines thumbs up! keep it up!
To make the long story short, the song is about looking back the at legacy of Parokya ni Edgar over the years and that even though getting old their not gonna stop anytime soon.
Cant stress this enough love this song. It shows their history how Glocn9 met the band and how greatful he is for being a part of them. Love this song so much
New sub here, watched several of your videos today. Just a suggestion, you guys need to introduce yourselves cause all Im getting is beard guy and fade guy. Awesome vids tho
This song tells the story of their band. Parokya ni Edgar. On how their band is formed. They also said that they are unbreakable. If I'm not mistaken. They are the oldest active band in the Philippines. On the 2nd verse by Gloc 9. He tells on how he get to collab with Parokya ni Edgar and Francis M. From being a promdi(from the province) rapper to a mainstream rapper. The third verse is Frank Magalona. The son of Francis Magalona.
Hi guys, the song is all about the band PAROKYA NI EDGAR. the first part is the introduction of each member of the band and what are the character of each member the second is GLOC 9 which talking about how they meet and started thier collaboration and the last part is actually not the son of Francis M. who rapped but in the video that is the son of francis m. And the chorus is al about the greatness of the band PAROKYA NI EDGAR and how they do the BAGSAKAN SONG.
Have you done Bamboo yet? They're an alternative rock band that have English songs. Personally, I loved their Tagalog songs like Noypi, Tatsulok and Hallelujah more
Since you're kinda exploring music around the world. You might want to check the following which has already big fan base so you know... More views. 1. One Ok Rock 2. My First Story 3. Band-Maid 4. Pay money To my Pain 5. coldrain 6. LiSA 7. NOISEMAKER and last but not the least. He sing in English. Basically the original lyrics translated to English and still sound good. 8. Jonathan Young The ball is in your court. 😁✌🏻
Ewww ano naman kabilib bilib dun? Kita mo nga ni hindi na fefeature dito. Nauna mga mga rapper na tunay na magagaling. Kung legend talaga yan sana nag react na noon pa ☻☻
To summarize the song, coz translating words 1 by 1 would be time consuming, is that Parokya Ni Edgar (the band), says that even though they don't consider themselves as one of the best bands, even though they're aging (coz they've been singing for two decades now), they're still here making music, and cannot be disbanded. Then as the song progress, they're talking about how they started, about how they meet the band members and their history. About Gloc-9's verse (the second part), he's talking about how he started as an unknown rapper, who idolizes Parokya that time. Then was surprised to got a call from Parokya to join in their song Bagsakan. Also he was talking about how proud he is to be a part of a song that will hit the top and that everyone will be singing and memorizing. The the last verse, who was performed by the late Francis Magalona' son, Frank, talks about how Parokya affects and influence people of their song. Because mostly, the songs of Parokya have simple lyrics, talks about everyday problems of everybody like failing in a relationship, or doesn't have enough money for everyday. So Frank explains that every pinoy, old or young, knows Parokya by heart, and was proud to be also a part of it. Hope this helps:) thank you for taking the time to listen to our songs. More power and rock on!
It's all about the milestones of the band. How they started and how they still rocking even they're not that young anymore. I recommend you to listen on BAGSAKAN and after that listen to BGM of the game called Contra - Level 4.
Parokya ni Edgar explicitly use riffs or melody from foreign songs and put their own lyrics in tagalog, well not all their songs, then they either use the whole song or just some snippets , also they change the tempo and the tuning.

"Parokya ni Edgar" was a filipino light rock band? They got some English Hits too..Gloc 9 and Francis M. were guests Rap artists of the band just for this jam Bagsakan..
Have your guys heard the song and watched the video of ordertaker from parokya ni edgar. I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised but... it's also in filipino though.
this music talk about the member and the name of the band PAROKYA NI EDGAR even there old they are legends in music the band group is the longest band here in the Philippines
Missing the music from before 2010.. best time for Filipino bands. Even if some were called one-hit wonder, they still enjoyed the spotlight. And with that, please listen to Sugar Hiccup's Five Years.
FYI, metalhead, parokya ni edgar is using tunes or note of a foreign band and changing lyrics but they're not claiming it their own.... anyways thank you for air OPM songs in your channel godbless dude rock in

And we’ll forever ‘spread dread/ terror’ (a figure of speech)
Ang aming back up extra ordinaire
Sa bawat gig handa syang magpakamatay
Kasi nag-iisa yung kanta nya, yung Picha Pie
Si Buhawi, pinakamagulong bahista
Magaling, malupit, para syang karatista
Pag inyong makita, kala mo rakista
Pero gusto nya lang talaga maging fashionista
Si Gab, gitarista namin na malupit
Anak ng teacher kaya akala mo mabait
Pero kung minsan inaatake ng kulit
Nawawala bigla ang modo, banatan sa ****
At ang huli, si Darius Gerard Semaña
Ang pinakamatandang member ng Parokya
Wala kaming mahanap na ibang gitarista
Kaya kinuha namin sya kahit Lasalista
ROUGH TRANSLATION:
There’s Dindin, our cute drummer..

Until now, he still doesn’t know how to commute
Even with drums, but that’s ok ‘chong’ (another term of endearment), salute!
Grade 3 when I met Montaner
Our back up extra ordinaire
In every gig he’s willing to risk his life,
Because he only has one song, Picha Pie (“pizza pie”)
There’s Buhawi, the crazy bassist
He’s very good, brutal, he’s like a ‘karatista’ (a person who does karate)
But when you see him, he’s a 'rakista' (solid rocker
!! \m/)
But in truth he only wants to be a fashionista
There’s Gab, Our brutal guitarist
He’s a son of a teacher, so you’ll think he’s good/nice
But sometimes he’s mischievous
He’s manners will be gone, needs a beat-up in his a**
And the last one, Darius Gerard Semana,
The oldest member of Parokya
We can’t find any other guitarist,
So we recruited him, even though he’s a ‘Lasalista’ (majority of the members are from Ateneo de Manila University, but they recruited Darius even though he’s from De La Salle University, Ateneo’s rival school [these universities are like PH Ivy Leagues).
[Gloc9:]
Ako si Gloc9 batang Binangonan Rizal
Sipag tyaga dugo pawis na may kasamang dasal
Samahang binuo namin wala akong masabi

[let's] Rewind the story, I won a trophy,
I saw Chito at the back
I had an idea and hope,
that a poet from the province can gain something.
1 year passed by, someone called me,
When he told me who he was, I wanted to curse (or bad-mouth) him. (in a good way :) )
I can’t believe it when I got the opportunity to collab with the song the people could recognize.
'BAGSAKAN' happened
.
The friendship that we formed, I’m speechless
[I was] joined by Gab, Buwi, Vinci, Darius and Dindin
Since then, I was not able to sleep soundly
Always giddy to let the people hear the poem

As sweet as a ‘makopa’ (native fruit) like in a ‘toga’ (academic dress)
They achieved their expected diploma
No one can copy what they went through
(I’m) With Aristotle Pollisco and Frankiko Magalona
That’s Chito and the gang, their mischievousness are though the roof
When it comes to gigs, they give their all
(The rest of the lyrics basically means: ) That the band is as strong as ever and are well-liked by the Filipinos. And that the band should promise that they will stay together forever. :)

The old photos on the video are the photos of the band members when they were on their younger age.
Ang Parokya - means "The Parokya Ni Edgar Band"
Most people here call them "Parokya" and/or "PNE" because the full band name is too long. It's the nick name of the band.
👏🏼👍🏼 well done...
Good Job . Hope they can realize immidiately .
👏
Love ur translation🤩
Thanks man it means a lot

Remember the song bagsakan? The rapper at 10:47 "anak ng alamat" means "the son of the legend" is the son of the late Francis Magalona.
this music tells the lifestory of their band that even they are old band they are unbreakable

Damn, I'm addicted watching your reaction videos! Keep it up! Forget about the f***ng bashers. You guys rock 🤘🏼 . Happy 100k btw. :)

Parokya were known for making cover of different songs. Buy changing the lirics but they to have their own compoaition
The song is basically introducing each member of the band, a short background to their quirky personality and how they came to be as Parokya Ni Edgar band, their bond and the friendship that was established while band go through their musical journey... 😊
Stay healthy and safe you two and to your families.
I like your reaction channel, one of my favorites (I only have a few favorites).
Yeah! Since 90's band parokya ni edgar still loving you guys.... keep running dude \m/
its all about of 2 decades and the band still alive and kickkin and counting they are one of the famous band here in r.p.. with gloc 9 .. and son of legend frank magalona.. thanks for the react..😇😇😇

parokya ni Edgar one of the famous band here in the 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
This band is a legend in the Philippines already, they are in the industry for 25 years. And this song is specifically for their 20th anniversary, and the lyrics are about each members of the band collaboration with Gloc9 and the other one is son of the Greatest Rapper in the Philippines.
Love it men Keep up the cool stuff From Philippines....!!!!!
You guys are the best love you guys
okay wolfgang, francism, now parokya.
i didnt just clicked. i subscribed
At 9:16 he is actually saying that when he’s thirsty, he can even drink sewer water 😂
Actually the videos here are not about someone’s dad or anything, it’s just a compilation of their old music videos but they put it in black and white.
Basically this song is telling the story of Parokya ni Edgar. The members, how they reached fame and such.
Really appreciate your honest reactions to this video 👌
it's about the band - their beginning and their journey and the collaboration with gloc9 and francism

FYI Parokya ni Edgar also did cover/parody/adaptation to Pearl Jam's Animal. The song was called Alimango (crab).
I wish this guys can understand filipino so they can really feel the song hahaha
The chorus for this song roughly translates to:
That's Parokya (their band name's short name like LP for Linkin Park).
So happy to see you guys enjoying this! Warms my married to a Filipina heart!
im a Filipino and im proud 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
We are parokya,
Even though were not good,
We are the band that noone can kill,
Were getting old but were still here
Till death do us part
Theyre singing about the history of their group.... how they got together and who they are as individuals
The song and the music video is about the culmination of the bands 20yrs in the industry.
I like it.... 👏👏

Parokya ni Edgar is one of the awesome band in the country... They are so flexible in their beat!!!
However, they do it with their own versions of the songs and with their own lyrics... some of them are:
"Trip" - "Creep" by Radiohead
"Alimango" - "Animal" by Pearl Jam
"The Crush (Bakit Ang Pangit Pangit Mo?)" - "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash
"Papa Cologne" - interpolates "Lança Perfume" by Rita Lee
"Picha Pie" - "I Will Survive" by Cake (originally by Gloria Gaynor)
"Chikinini" - "Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo" by Yano
"Nakaw ang Wallet Ko" - "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" by Guns N' Roses (originally by Bob Dylan)
"The Ordertaker" - a mashup of "Chop Suey" and "Toxicity" by System of a Down
"Macho" - "Macho Man" by Village People
"Tange" - "The Popeye Theme"
"Celfone Wallet" / "Celfone Celfone Wallet" - from the "Seiko Wallet Jingle" by Bing Rodrigo
"Pedro, Basura Man" - "The Popeye Theme"
"Bagsakan" - interpolates "Pollux Diving" by Keltscross and the Contra theme song from Base I (Stage 2) and II (Stage 4)
as well as this song...
Exactly.... similar to a cover song. But yeah they are well known with parodying artists songs worldwide. Good list and info to everyone thinks they are liable for a copyright infringement.
That drinking problem is what you called Ice tubig which means a water in a plastic that you can buy in a cheaper price. This is very famous in Philippines

Parokya ni Edgar is one of the best band here in the Philippines.
music is about the instruments🤘🏽😎
I used to love helmet back in the 90s... Hearing your intro, now I wanna look back my Helmet tunes XD
Parokya ni Edgar explicitly use riffs or melody from foreign songs and put their own lyrics in tagalog, well not all their songs, then they either use the whole song or just some snippets , also they change the tempo and the tuning.
