- Check out this quick recipe video to see how to make pancakes from scratch. The recipe is super easy with standard ingredients you probably already have at home. Pancakes from scratch are easier than you think, and should be part of your breakfast and brunch routine from now on.
Pancakes from scratch:
1 1/4 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup milk
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 egg

I don't have any baking powder this morning raining cats and doggs. Maybe if I added two eggs improvising for baking power fluffy?🤷 baby kk wants pancakes. 🏃😁

1st mixture
1 1/4 cups flour
1 tbsp baking powder
quick whisk
2nd mixture
1 cup of milk
3 tbsp of sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp vegetable oil
whisk until well blended
Pour 2nd mixture into 1st mixture
slowly whisk until you can't see the flour anymore
do NOT over mix, it's okay to be a little lumpy
preheat nonstick pan over low heat
Tip- could use soup ladle to pour mixture into pan
First pancake is example to see if you need to adjust the batter-
doesn't flow easily out of ladle then add a few tablespoons of milk to the batter & lightly mix it in
if to watery add a bit of flour
take about 90 seconds before needed to be flipped
will know when ready to be flipped when the bubbles on surface leave a mark after they pop and the sides of the pancake are dry then flip over and give another 60 seconds or so
most likely end up with 6-8 pancakes

I used your recipe, and lemme tell you it came out light, fluffy and tasty, i added a teaspoon of vanilla essence as well! I tried pancakes once before a while ago and it was so heavy i almost gave up, but thanks to your recipe i have made them 4 times and they all came out perfect!

Made these a few moments ago and these came out sooo good!! Best homemade pancakes I’ve ever had. Better than store bought packaged mixes. I added in some leftover Nestle semi-sweet morsels. It made about 3 decently sized pancakes. I just ate 1 and am so full lol

BEST pancakes I’ve ever created!! Definitely recommend! If you do everything right, you’ll get the most fluffiest, most delicious pancakes you’ve ever had! I’m so bad at cooking so when I saw how my pancakes came out, I felt like a master chef! I gave my sisters some and they said they tasted good, so I tried some and they were right!! Usually when I make pancakes, they’re all skinny, super dense, and taste tangy. I’m so happy that I found this recipe!! Thank you so much for this recipe!!
Just a tip for anybody who messes up a lot in cooking:
You have to reread the recipes and make sure what you got matches the recipe. That’s what’s going to help you with these pancakes and most of cooking/baking in general. Sometimes I mix salt with sugar or the other way around and mess up the food that way. So making sure you have those ingredients and rereading the recipe will definitely help you!
I also made chocolate version! To do that, do everything the exact same way but do 1/4 of cocoa powder and a cup of flour.

I just made them; super good and super easy. I just cut down the sugar to 1 tsp, and the banking powder to 1 tsp (*2), and added coconut oil, and vanilla flavor.

Double the ingredients if possible add a tsp of vanilla to make the aroma
Is vanilla what this is missing. This recipe seems like it’s missing something. Is it the buttermilk and vanilla. Auntie Jemima pancake batter alone tastes almost like cake to me. They must something else.
I used baking soda instead of baking powder on accident but i adda a pinch of baking powder and they still tasted good

I usually try to avoid bleached flour though. And I forgot about adding sugar or oil but cook with coconut oil and a smidge of butter so I do think that helps. With adding the above I’m hoping to get the protein and nutrients with just a few pancakes. Especially when we don’t eat several times a day. So . . . It’s key!
