Thanks for the insight. I high key forgot that even being promoted to Captain, you are now at the bottom of that seniority list and not yet able to hold a line...but you are correct, many people paint being on reserve and the worst thing ever so I am glad to hear a differing opinion on it.

Hey Garrett, great video! I’m new to your channel, so I don’t know if you’ve covered this already, but maybe you could do a video about how you got to your airline? I just got my commercial pilots license, and I’m working on my multi-engine rating. One of my goals is to work for a major airline and be based out of NC. When looking at regional airlines, should I focus on ones that have flows, or should I just go with any airline at first and then apply to the one I want later once I have more hours? Thanks in advance!

I am just starting pilot school and you seem to have your life together pretty well, so I'm curious about how you manage your time on a more or less normal work day, including morning routine, gym time, family time, making videos etc. Also, are you currently focusing on anything else besides these things? Like educating yourself, starting a business or getting a degree... you seem to aspire more than just being a pilot, so please let us know :)

My mind is set. I'm living in base. I would much rather wait for a trip at my home than wait at an airport.
Do you get paid anything for these different types of reserve statuses? Is being on reserve optional (you have to sign up) or mandatory? When you go to work do you park a car at the airport? Do you have to pay for parking?

To some bush pilots around my town and I get three reoccurring answers 1. Go through the armed forces 2. Do a flight school like ATP 3. Just go through the steps and save 30 grand instead of the flight school. I was wondering what you would suggest

Do you get paid on reserve for the hours that you are “on call” even if you don’t do anything or don’t get called?
There is a 75 hour rule for pilots on reserve, you are guaranteed at least 75 hours of pay whether you fly 0-75 you get 75 hours of pay, if you fly more then that you of course get paid what your due but if you end up not flying you are still making 75 hours worth

What happens if you get called on reserve and say they put you on an out and back and on the flight back, after you push from the gate, a delay occurs in taking off enough that before you take off you know that it will no longer be legal for you to fly 3/4 of the way into the flight?
