  • I-D BASE presents the first in a series of Base Jump tutorial videos to help jumpers execute skills properly. It's always best to get live training from an experienced mentor/ instructor, however, these videos can help you improve your skills and safety. In this video Sean teaches you some important things about doing an unpacked jump known as a TARD (Totally Awesome Rapid Deployment). To learn how to get training from Sean Chuma visit seanchuma.com
    * THIS AND ALL BASE JUMP TUTORIAL VIDEOS ARE FOR PEOPLE THAT ALREADY KNOW HOW TO BASE JUMP. THESE VIDEOS SHOULD NOT BE USED UNLESS YOU ARE AN EXPERIENCED JUMPER. TO LEARN TO BASE JUMP YOU SHOULD HAVE OVER 200 SKYDIVES FIRST. AFTER YOU HAVE DONE 200 SKYDIVES THEN YOU MIGHT BE READY TO TAKE ON THE HIGH RISK SPORT OF BASE JUMPING. IF YOU ARE NOT A BASE JUMPER DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT TRYING BASE WITHOUT THE PROPER TRAINING OTHERWISE YOU COULD SEVERELY INJURE OR KILL YOURSELF. The Kavu Line of sight video was so sick! I had no idea you could fly a wing suit like that! The Death Star was the most insane exit ive ever seen congrats on flying it!

Interesting. Paragliders can do the same thing with mini wings and speed wings except getting the canopy ready is not quite as complicated. Good stuff thanks for posting

There are other safety measures that we have learned, that can help, so we do them. Its been a long process of doing them over many years. Realistically you could just throw the thing out there with no prep, but it is risky, because it seems more likely to malfunction if everything is not in order.

Cool Shauny, just be sure to pick a safe spot like the bridge. No solid objects.

A static line tutorial would be freakin sweet, especially at the perrine. I dont know how to safely rig a static line while getting over such a tall railing

ThNks I was thinking of doing that but it is very opinionated territory.

Great video! Thanks for it. What's your opinion to stow the lines in the tailpocket instead of in your hand?thanks 🎄

Yeah some people do that. It’s called a smart tard. I don’t see a problem with it.
