It's nice to see someone recognize that guppies are inherently inbred and have a relatively high premature death rate. So many stores pretend the only reason fish could die is they were sick or the fish keeper kept them poorly and just ignore the fact that highly line bred fish are going to have these problems
You seem to be the best guppy resource I can find. I would really appreciate an advice you can give. I have two blue dragon guppies that came with a male. I have had them since January of this year, and they seem perfectly healthy. They are in a very clean planted tank with perfect parameters. They have been VERY pregnant looking for many months, yet have never given birth. What is wrong with them? It has been almost a while year and no births yet. They swim energetically, they are friendly, and they eat plenty. There is duckweed in the tank, so they eat that as well. I would really appreciate ANY professional opinion on this. Also, they do look VERY pregnant, but they looked that way for months.
Hello thanks for watching really appreciate it, actually most of guppies will become like that esp when they are new to the tank, some of the females will hold their fry for long esp when they are new to the tank,,, just give them some time to do their thing, just add some hiding spots or any plants for the fem to drop their fry! And trust me when they succsfully drop their fry, they will do thesame on the next cycle,😇❤
And also try to separate one of the female to other tank alone, sometimes they will drop their fry when they feel safe and much better to keep pair 1male and 1fem in one tank, because females likes to eat their own fry or others fry! And when the fem drops on that day she will not eat her fry unless 1 day have passd😇
