- Coming in September, Season Pass holders will receive our third digital expansion pack, Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star. Players will experience five new maps - on ground and in space - new weapons and Star Cards and two new heroes, the fearsome bounty hunter Bossk and everyone’s favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca.
Board the Death Star and blast foes with the new K-16 Bryar Pistol or TL-50t Heavy Repeater. Take your Starfighters to space in an all-new game mode and even hop into the cockpits of Darth Vader’s TIE Advanced or Luke Skywalker’s Red Five X-Wing. If the Force is strong with you, attempt a trench run to take down the Empire’s ultimate weapon.

samconroy Form ideas. Make a game. Some ideas, let's say B and C, are not incorporated into the game upon its release. Does this mean B and C are cut from the base game? No, they're not. They can't have been cut from the base game because they weren't there in the first place. The DLCs had to be developed after the game's release and this took/takes months for each DLC.
Nathan H. The actual content may not have been cut, but the ideas and plans to incorporate it were. EA with their strict timelines were like "cut those and release the barebones game, we'll be able to sell them for DLC later! $$$"
killthenerd5 I don't remember a Battle Station mode in any previous Battlefront games. Better yet, the only Death Star-related map in any of the old games was the ONE Death Star interior map. That was all there was as for our iconic space station. No, they can't just copy all of the designs and 'general coding' from the old games and paste them into the new one, this game runs on an entirely new engine and is basically a reboot of the Battlefront series, not a remake. And yes, better graphics does mean it takes longer (they even visited the movie locations to get things right), and no, they didn't have everything designed for them already. Stop posting such absurd claims. It obviously took time to design the new maps and to work on the modern graphics to give us a more authentic Star Wars feel. This Death Star DLC has 5 maps revolving around the Death Star, BF2 had... one. I'm glad they started from scratch instead of just ripping all of the map designs from the old games, that would've been bad and given us nothing but one DS map.
samconroy Basically, if you didn't pay the full $60 for the base game, you don't have much to complain about. You can get the base game + the season pass for a little less than that now and the wait has taken about as long as it would've if they were going to include all the content from the DLCs in the base game, so in the end, the only cons remain figments of the past.
Yes, they wanted to have it out in time for the new Star Wars movie, which would bring them more sales from all the hype around it. To be fair, I was never going to get it at full price, but I got the base game for 30 euros in February, and the season pass for about 25 in June. I used to complain about the lack of content, but ended up really loving the game, and now with these DLCs coming out, they're really redeeming it all for me.

The only issues is pc, the game is not fun on pc because it's full of unfairness meanwhile on console everybody has the same controller and the same machine to play with. Equality brings fun.

I'm not saying I wouldn't want to play this but I'd rather buy the next game where all of this is already built in. Battlefront's only fault was that the base game didn't have enough content. The game + all the DLC was what we were all expecting the base game to be. I don't want to spend a hundred bucks to get the full game. (Also some sort of campaign would've been nice.)

This Battle Station mode most interesting. Fighting inside the Death Star while going through the tench run is pumping me up. Shame that we don't have Obi-Won Kenobi instead of Chewbacca. But I'll enjoy it so far.

It's not the proper space combat we saw in SWBF2. It's just fighter squadron with a different backdrop and some new stuff added.
The next Battlefront I want to see a return to the old content. Multiple eras like the Clone Wars for example. Class system, vehicles that don't require tokens. Actual space combat where the player can CHOOSE to storm the cruiser. Maybe mix both ground and space together and make a game mode where the losing teams cruiser falls out of space and lands on the planet creating a Levolution-esque type of environment.
Please do this DICE. You have the resources and the manpower. Don't be lazy

It sure was a good idea to release this on the day Rise of Iron releases too.
I understand why DLC exists and I actually think it's quite healthy for the gaming industry, however when it comes to DLC with regards to EA they are worst. They'll release most of the content in DLC and charge the same price as the base game. Like SERIOUSLY, how can you make a Star Wars game based entirely on the original trilogy and not have the original game feature the Death Star or Bespin? I think there is a right balance between business and fan service when it comes to the mix between base game and DLC, but to give perspective EA are far too business orientated and someone like CD projekt red are, if anything, too far towards fan service. Just a thought EA, try and find the balance.

Not really mate, your probably one of those fellas who criticises games even tho you haven't played the dame game yourself. If EA ruined the franchise they would have ended it a long while back, but you can see their still creating great content that some of us love an enjoy no matter what people say.

I love the trailer, all looks great, BUT I agree with the comments already made.....what have they done to Chewbacca? He doesn't look as good as I thought he would. Fur looks like he's stepped out of the shower! Come on EA you've got to sort it! Bossk looks good, so why where's the effort on Chewie? Let's hope he looks different when it's released. Fur should look like fur, not like a cartoon character. All the other stuff is top quality and movie like, so they've got to change it.....quality control please!

That came out weird
so much hate about the this trailer because it was in a different game for free and the content is not worth it. Yet you are here watching the trailer. I rather you just come clean and say "I just can't afford the Season Pass, so ill pass on this DLC" That would have been more respectful, but bashing it because is not free DLC is a bit dewshi
Exactly, plus this couldn't have been in the base game in the first place because EA rushed the game to release TFA. And lastly, I laugh at how people don't realise how basic Battlefront II's engine is. If you apply yourself to it as you would as a job, it would take a week to make a space map, while this engine is a lot superior it takes a month even maybe two.

EA - When you want a mediocre experience in a base game and then you're forced to buy loads of DLC or a Season Pass to get the good stuff. EA is the reason I quit playing computer games. Hope the folks who developed their business plan of nickel and diming the gamer population get a severe case of crotch rot.
