First, awesome review! Was absolutely enough to get me to log in again lol. Theres a lot to see and do, despite it being "incomplete". My 2 main complaints are 1) it has no "learning curve", its just straight up hard haha. Getting north is "nicer" but the camps are just all kind of ridiculous from the get go. As well, traversing the map without any form of fast travel is legitimately awful. Very very very highly recommend you install pippi (set home) and some sort of waypoint or teleport mod; even if youre in single player, as the map is very obnoxious to get around. Map "ruining" spoilers (click read more to see) --------> . . . . . 1) the dungeon in abbaddrah is *very* cool. You will some sewer grates on the ground, and you can click them to go in. There are multiple entrances, some lead to nowhere. The dungeon is *very* sneaky to get into, and the sewers are NOT the dungeon. (Hint -> you need to jump into the spicy water and take some damage [its not that bad lol] to get into the actual dungeon!) 2) Black ice and ice are found in Yamman (i12) during these "maelstrom" invasion events. Its also where you get fragments of power and other goodies. 3) That "dark spot" on the right side of the map is the "Great mine"... it has gold, silver, obsidian, brimstone, stone, iron, and coal in huge huge amounts. Star metal falls here as well. 4) The road network is very easy to traverse with a horse, *definitely* get one.

You have to make sure it's selected as an active mod on the Conan launcher, then start a new game and choose Legend of Shem as the map, it'll create a new save file just for that map
@@StudioPluche After you click "New game" on single player/co-op , go down to the bottom where it shows "Custom" or something like that (I believe it's right after the "Maelstrom" tab) and click on it. There will be a small box at the top that says" Exiled Lands" you can click on and a little drop down will show with Exiled Lands ,Siptah and any other map mods you have installed. If you never used the custom settings you can change pretty much anything in the game, from xp gain to crafting speed to npc spawn time.
The issue with modded maps now is well, probally the only way we'll ever get any new maps after siptah. especially since the devs have been making ingame events its probally a pain to add in event spots for two maps, let alone any others. But it's also kinda sad, given that at the time at least Ark conans primary competition boasts like 6 or so alternate map dlc?
I do have a separate video coming up about Siptah and the potential of future official maps, but yeah it's something Ark has Conan beat on. Conan's maps generally have more detail, lore etc, but Ark has the numbers. IIRC, some of Ark's maps were modded ones that were adapted into the base game? That's something I've wanted Funcom to do for a long time
I really DO NOT like this mod and here's why. The first 30 levels I played it (for about 2 hours), all I did was run, run, run, run, run, and see camps that had NPCs that would kill me in one hit. I found two major friendly cities (akin to Sepermeru), but there are no loot chests for players to gain any armor, weapons, or any other items. There are traders who will trade items for gold, but in 2 hours I NEVER ran into any chests that had gold - NONE. So at level 30 I'm still in the basic tunic clothes, with stone tools and weapons. The map itself is nice, but it really does not provide the player with much at all except your beginning game level material. So you spend hours doing nothing but running around looking at everything. The only way, it seems to me, for players to get next level weapons is to farm them and craft them on their own. So, if your really into looking at landscape and design, this mod is for you. If you're looking for great gameplay, fair pve (where you actually get items from camps and the NPCs don't kill you in one hit) then I'd pass on this map.
Is this map populated with enemies and such for PvE gradual play, or is it empty and barren, meant for "Role-Playing", just like all the others? Sure, the majestic scale and splendor of these maps is great for about 15 minutes, but if there's nothing to do, I don't see the point of it.
There's a lot of enemies 😂 Friendly NPCs, world bosses, NPC camps etc. It seems more geared toward actual PvE play rather than roleplay, though it could work for both. The second dungeon has just released too
Yeah, just wish that it was an idea from the publisher, with more devs and more resources... Seems to me that the publisher do not have this kind of love for the game and lore of Conan.
The only issue is the current state of the game. I started a new play this week and my experience has been gasthly. Ice Giants disapearing in the mesh, the Brute freezes every time you hit it, the giant spider movements are trembling. You get stuck with the mineral farming position while trying to move, so odd. First year bugs somehow persist still, like logging in stuck in a place and having to log off and log in again to move freely, also, we still get stuck in the mesh of bigger mobs. Stamina while fighting has no sense. Sometimes it does not come back properly. I really don't know what happened to this game. It had bugs, of course, but it seems they are just trashing the game. You fall from a giant moutain and nothing happens to you? Really? Freya's attack cause bleed that never stops and you can literally kill the red mother by letting Freya hit it and leave and after about 15 minutes it's dead. The war Rhyno is completely broken, you can kill everything with it. I don't know what to say. I love this game, but it's a mess now, with no fixing in sight.
@@JgHaverty Yes, i saw that, thanks for the notice, tough. Let's hope they keep their word. I'm kind of in the fence, I don't know if the Funcom that developed Conan is the same as this one today. I saw the Dune Awakening gameplay trailer and the character creation, instead of selecting male or female you select Body Type 1. Who the heck want this kind of stuff?

There's a lot of enemies 😂 Friendly NPCs, world bosses, NPC camps etc. It seems more geared toward actual PvE play rather than roleplay, though it could work for both. The second dungeon has just released too
@@Eradicati0nn Oh nice! In that case I will definitely check it out.
Yeah, just wish that it was an idea from the publisher, with more devs and more resources... Seems to me that the publisher do not have this kind of love for the game and lore of Conan.
It's a great map, just not suitable for my port city build :(
Funcom once again put to shame by modders.
Bro LOVES to hear himself talk.
SHEM SEEMS TO REFER TO SHEM OF THE BIBLE. THE FATHER OF WHAT'S CALLED SEMITES . AKA JEWS AND ARABS BOTH SPEAK SEMITE.
In the Bible, Shem was one of Noah's three sons and the ancestor of the Semites
Interestingly, go have a look at the dev notes they put out yesterday. Its very promising to hear them say the things they said :)
*sad console player noises*
I can only apologize 😩
A other PC mod. You had my hopes up until I heard mod. Funcom needs hire people like this to make maps for Consoles . But the funcum dem are to full of their self's.
Tbis map keeps crashing my game...I'm assuming because of the other mods I've got running.
It could be, my game was very stable with just this and Pippi. If you're in Darth's modding discord, it might be worth mentioning in case there's a conflict or something isn't playing ball as it should
The map is incredibly stable. Of course its your "other mods" you have running dude, maps dont arbitrarily crash your game lol.
