- Most of you have most likely never seen an Arrau turtle (Podocnemis expansa), also known as the giant Amazon river turtle. The Arrau is the largest sideneck turtle in South America and thanks to Zoo Miami we've got a gigantic one as well as a bunch of other species in this amazing unboxing!

I feel like reptiles are the most forgotten and abused critters of the planet, (fish a close second) and its so nice to see people such of yourself, your friends and a few other YTers I know of that love these creatures and take care of them while trying to do your part in helping the population, thank you for all your hard work my dude! ❤

Ikr? Anticlimactic for sure, King does refer to the “great wheel” throughout storyline. I think the fact he stopped writing them for years mid-way through and they sat in boxes until he felt “inspired” (by an auto wreck he survived…?) The ending wasn’t great but from what I’ve heard - and what little I’ve seen the movie was flopella.
Loving the new family members & your hat! The big girl...I would have to call her Big Girtha! 😂 She is incredible to behold. The other turtles are beautiful too! I will never forget Darwin & I'm actually feeling her spirit in this video for some unknown reason. Take care and try to stop and enjoy the little things amidst your hectic schedule.
Ive seen people on online forms criticize Kenna's animal care but the fact that a zoo like zoo miami trusts him to take on anianls from ther collection shows Kenna knows what he's doing.
That really shocks me as I really believe he gives his animals even better lives than any zoo I’ve seen 🥺
Yea people forget Kenan or pretty much any other person, who is making videos, is usualy busy all day with their animals, working all day to check on the animals, change things if needed, if he is ending a video with thoguhts on how to improve things, that does not mean it stays as an idea, he is constantly changing things if the animal needs a better enviornment or food source.
And he is learning from his mistakes, and talks about them.
Kennan the keeper of giants. 3 of the worlds largest river turtle species, 3 of the world's largest tortoise species, and at least 2 of the worlds largest monitor lizard species. Keep up the great work♡ love what you do for these animals. Wish I could do the same.

Those turtles have the cutest faces ever!! I'm so glad I found your channel, Kenan, because until I did, I didn't have a love for turtles or tortoises and a greater appreciation for lizards and habitats. Since finding you, I've seen and learnt about animals I didn't even know existed! Thank you for your passion, love, kindness and empathy towards animals (even big barking dogs lol). A massive heartfelt thank you for sharing all that and more with us on RUclips and teaching us how to be better carers for our own animals whether they have scales, shells or furr. I just wish I had the means to have one of my own, but some of the most important things the animal would need is a certain future, and I can't provide that as in me being healthy enough 24/7 to care for it or have someone trained and with the right knowledge to care for them if needs be especially because at some point in the future (fingers crossed) I need to go for a kidney transplant. Also, when I pass, I don't have anyone I could leave the turtle/tortoise or lizard with, and I'd want to know that person would keep it and not sell it or give up to a rehoming place as there are too many animals needing homes as it is.

I absolutely love my aquascape pop up tubs I have around 20 of them that I use for when ever I have to quarantine rescued turtles and gators plus keeping feeder fish in

The turtle...blew me away! I can't wait to see her swim in her forever pond. I didn't hear her name, but I'm calling her Big Sue.
Wow! Those are some very large turtles. I have to say, the first time I saw Red-Bellied Turtles and Florida Softshell Turtles, I was surprised at their size. The largest turtles, freshwater of course, that I would regularly see were Common Snapping Turtles which regularly exceed 40 pounds and a 2 ft carapace. Some of the Florida Softshell Turtles I would see in Disney were huge, around a 2 ft carapace as well. Next to Snapping Turtles, Painted Turtles were the largest turtles and they would max out at around a 7 inch carapace. The Red-Bellied Turtles I would often see in the retention creeks outside the Beach Club Resort in Disney World were pushing 12 inch carapaces.
Really diverse group of reptiles. I was actually shocked to see how many invasive species were here on Long Island and thriving. I know Red-Eared Sliders are a big problem and we have Italian Fence Lizards too. There’s even fears of African Clawed Frogs, so they’re on the regulated species list.
Hoping the new pond is turning out well. I’ll keep tuning in to see the progress.
It's crazy Kenan now has 5 giant freshwater turtle species 2 types of batagurs Orlitia Alligator snappers and now the Arrau turtles gotta love it 🔥🙌

Got a krefft's river turtle as a pet here in Australia in a pond, spends 80% of the time out of the water basking in the sun and can climb waaay better then a turtle should be able to.

Very nice! The Australian Crest River turtles are amazing, they all are. Be careful lifting those big chonkey boys, you must be resting up and it really shows! I’m searching for a decent orthopedic surgeon -mine retired during covid and I need a “50,000 mi tune-up” (yeah, lol.) If I hear of a heart specialist in my travels I will pass on the info. I also have connections by you in Florida but chances are a top-rated surgeon may require a trip up here to “the old home range.” Tbh. it’d be worth a couple cohone-freezing days for peace of mind… *YOLO!* 👍🏻
