Both the same split stroke but different ways of thinking of where they start. Both end up with the same hand motion in the end. Some folks learn it better feeling where the accents are (big down) and some where the downbeat is (small down). The split stroke is really anything that deals with the double down stroke to create syncopation

In the other video on the split stroke, you showed it as DUD: (full) down, up on A, bounce down on G.
