I've been watching your stuff since frog leap Studios brought you in to RUclips. Your work has grown on me and now believe me I'm one of your biggest fans. Hello from New Mexico USA
I've been playing the guitar almost 10 years. I've learned something from hundreds guitarists, who I've seen by RUclips. But here are two guys who really helping me to figure out myself in guitar playing: Paul Gilbert and Rabea. Thank you.
Just for my own riff reference: 3:48 5:29 12:38 13:05 17:05 19:58 (some chord shapes ascending riff) 21:56 (pentatonicky riff) 23:12 *there's more but will add in later after I watch it for a second time
So awesome, I absolutely love your style and tone Rabea. You are one of my fave guitarists on the planet and that is saying alot as I'm a fan of Page, Clapton, Bonamassa, Mustaine, Bettencort, EVH, etc.
49:04 - epic face!! Thanks for the awesome lesson, Rabea! leaves us all with a lot of homework to do, not just practice-wise, but also thought-wise! Great work, guys! Cheers!
Hi Rabea, just wanna say that whenever I am stuck for riffs I always come back to this video and it never fails to inspire me. Literally within the duration of the video I had four awesome new riffs!
Hi, while playing those open experimental chords on a driven channel, how do I get the notes to ring out with clarity in a chord while playing rhythm and it doesn't sound muddy? How do I set my amp or my guitar? I have been trying to get a good sound while playing rhythm with such chord shapes where I am pressing down two notes and the rest are the open strings and it tends to sound muddy. How do I get the clarity on high gain channels ? It will be a great if you could help me out with this. Thank you. :)
Oh and the two notes aren't really power chords or something like an Asus2 or a Dsus2. Like the way you are playing all those chords and every note has so much clarity and doesn't sound muddy.
Hey i know the chances of your reading this are pretty slim bea, but id really really like to know how youre doing the legato stuff at 23:17 .... im pretty new to the guitar so id really really like to know ! or if anyone else would be so kind, id really appreciate it!!
25:30....that's not exactly 7/8 is it? Count it out on a quarter note, when you do that it counts 4/4 Someone help me understand this, as i watched and learned the riff, but when i count it out the easiest way for me to count it while playing (on a quarter note, which still plays along fine with his riff) i get 4/4, but when i count it on the eighth note it's 7/8 like he says, and also plays along fine with him.is Something going on with his drummer in that riff i'm missing? polyrhythmic stuffs?
Excuse my ignorance but what tuning is he using? He mentions E A D when teaching the Bryan Adams riff but his guitar sounds much lower than standard tuning
I don't even really play anything beyond 'Ever rose has a thorn' and 'wish you were here', but this was chill as fuck, and i feel like i COULD play them if i actually tried. Good work! Oh, and have you ever noticed how 'Glam Rock / metal ' stole the best riffs... :)
Both you and Rob are phenomenal players but you each tend to make every guitar you play sound the same. Oh they sound great and your chops are undeniable but always the same tonality.
+compwnage2 Very true, which is why when I decide on a guitar, I usually care less about how it sounds and care more about how ergonomic it is, and how well it stays in tune.
I would be more inclined to agree with you if they didn't use efx pedals. The distorted tone is not in his fingers it's in the Strymon stomp box he uses. Much of their tonality is aided by efx and amp settings. This is an old argument. I acknowledged their obvious talent but it is tonally assisted by toys. That's why acoustic guitars dont sound like electric guitars. I appreciate your input but your answers are irrelevant to the question I asked.
You have no fucking idea about how real world of music works do you!? Like people are always gonna use at least a couple pedals. You can't have a modulation tone from your fingers. Pedals and amp settings are spices to your playing. If you have ever had to play love you would understand that pedals are rad and just like steroids you can't just play and expect them to do the work for you lol they are spices in your playing. I can't stand assholes like you... People trying to to tell me my 16 years of being a musician come from my pedals only. . That's hilarious, you have to actually have something behind the pedals or you suck, period. Message me back in ten years when you have a valid opinion you fucking moron.
1 hour and 20 minutes of Rabea playing?
That must be my favorite video on youtube.

21:56 (pentatonicky riff)

Thank you!!! One of the things I love about Rabea is his own use of chord shapes
For your own riff-erence if you will
I'll see myself out.

KaleidoscopeEyesTV Tool is awesome \m/

This is amazing, Rabea you're the best.
Very musical and tasteful guitarist.
Hi Rabea, just wanna say that whenever I am stuck for riffs I always come back to this video and it never fails to inspire me. Literally within the duration of the video I had four awesome new riffs!
Keep up the good work Bea!
After the first 20 minutes I picked up my ML1 and wrote 3 riffs, Thanks Rabea!
wow, brilliant to hear about this...very new learner here, so it's all really intriguing
Fellow Pact subscriber checking in. It has enabled many a riff in my life.
Rabea is a riff machine
And an afro machine!
love that "guitarsound" ...
this guy is fucking RAD! great playing as always.
the fast and mental riff around the 13th minute is awesome. is there a song which this is in?
Could somebody tell me if theres a song of this mental riff min 13:05?????????
56:42 I LOL'd so hard I woke up everyone in the house and it's 3 am...

am i the only one who thinks this riffing is at least as awesome as mark tremonti's shit? I dig this so much.
7:15 sounds more like "short memory" by Midnight Oil.....

Turn down the gain and you get the clarity, people don't use as much gain as you would think
As les said, Turn down the gain a bit, and then a tiny bit of reverb really helps.

i flipped when Bea played Cochise
If only he played more riffs
Eb tuning for the first riff. You could have said so a bit sooner than 45m in, Bea! :-)
and it is still the wrong 440 NAZI standard, the right is 432 hz
sounds like pantera to me, is that really from brian adams?
25:30....that's not exactly 7/8 is it? Count it out on a quarter note, when you do that it counts 4/4

15:24 sounds sick
So, the Chapman ML1 is your fav?? Oh I so doubt that!
Excuse my ignorance but what tuning is he using? He mentions E A D when teaching the Bryan Adams riff but his guitar sounds much lower than standard tuning
how cool is that prs 245 in slash style????
Call Tobacco sunburst just for your knowledge, known way before Slash use it
so if one was to study music to get a better understanding of notes and music only on a guitar where would u start?
Omg u replied lol that's awesome. I thought about it but idk if it's for me
KJ21JAy Perhaps learn the notes
Can't believe he didn't mention Tool when he was asked if pentatonic was less valued now a days lol
That one was from Brian Adams :)
what is the tune?(I'm a beginner)
I don't even really play anything beyond 'Ever rose has a thorn' and 'wish you were here', but this was chill as fuck, and i feel like i COULD play them if i actually tried. Good work!
Oh, and have you ever noticed how 'Glam Rock / metal ' stole the best riffs... :)
Rabea. song at 59:47.. sounds like ocean colour scene ruclips.net/video/xIhFpmzRKYM/видео.htmlm45s
I dont think Rabea does enough to promote Victory Amps :') !!
Hello the camera is over here. 👋
Dan
22:55 thank me later

Tone is in the fingers wil

chromathesia...you are funny. not very poignant or particularly interesting but quite funny.
