Torajan Tongkonan resemble a boat because they believed that their ancestor arrived in Toraja by boat from Mekong river basin region south of China. The Tongkonan is still built up to this day facing north the direction where their ancestor came from.
I was wondering if the native of the Mekong river basin region south of China where Torajan ancestors originated hold a similar funeral ceremony like that of nowdays Torajan people.
In old times, this burial ceremony became more spectacular because the corpse walk by theirself to its grave. because some controversy saying it's using a type of"black magic",this section is stopped/forbidden at the funeral ceremony in the future. my uncle who work as a doctor in Toraja witness it once.
