People hate jokes nowadays. He is a comedian guys..... and he says this all in a satiric way. Stop thinking certain things shouldn't be made fun of plz
It looks cool, and it’s a more versatile hair cut idk man I’m not out here rocking a man but I don’t get why people have a problem with it It’s like a beard, wtf do you want to grow a beard. It’s literally pointless, if anything it gets in the way. It’s just a look that some people like 🤷♂️
Actually, man bun is not a "new" thing, the East Asian(CJKV) practice it for centuries even until today. And no it's not a feminine thing, it's called civilized and those who shaved their head or put their hair down were considered uncivilized or barbaric back in the time.
Do you even live in reality mate. Your 10 min google searches does not represent the behavior/political social views of *all* guys with the man bun. The long haired men i've met lift weights and do surfing and sports. This is all just verbal diarrhea in text format from your part. You sound like a suppressed little firecracker with a wet fuse. Maybe make your own decisions regarding your looks and this tantrum will fade away shortly. Trust me.
I wouldn't be too worried about this trend. It just fits in with the pussified mangina hipster theme of the 2010s (aka one of the worst decades in history). People will look back at how godawful the fashion of this shitty decade was. Hopefully things will get better again in the 2020s.
Worst decades of history? Someone needs to go back and re-take a history class. An era with fashion and hairstyles you don't like does not qualify as the worst decade in history. Oh the horrors a hairstyle you don't like! Oh please!
Fabian Pacheco I wear chinos, leather jacket and t-shirts. I don't wear tight trousers if that's what you are wondering. I have long hair too, which I choose not to wear in a man bun.
I have a few suggestions for your next post: "Eating Fruit - DeEvolution of Man"; "Consent - DeEvolution of Man"; "Reading - DeEvolution of Man"; "Evolution - DeEvolution of Man"; "Depth - DeEvolution of man".
Lmfao my hairs in a bun right now & i love this vid. Probably one of the best edited youtube clips ive seen. You still hating on these lushious locks though.
Ever since my mom made me watch Chinese dramas I cant stop seeing a them as Chinese warrior buns around every corner. All that is missing the man bun peoples is a chop stick in their hair.
Hell No to the man-bun, so not hot. However, both the Steven Segal ponytail and the loose and free do it for me, depending on your hair. Men with hair = sexxxxay. I like face-fur too.
I'd rather see dudes go back to a cool ponytail. The man-bun does look gay and stupid. It screams "Look at me, I'm a trendy, 'gender-neutral', liberal snowflake, SJW! Down with Trump!" But most people will defend the man-bun fad anyway with a history lesson on vikings and samurais, until it goes out of style in about 5 years when we finally move on from the lame hipster style. Fashion is basically a reflection of politics, current events, and the majority of young people's attitudes -- And in the 2010's, most are liberal, which explains our decade's weird, androgynous fashion trends like the man-bun. We're all gonna look back at fashion in the 2010's the way we look at fashion in the 80's. The 80's also had unusual, androgynous hairstyles and fashion statements. I'm not saying other previous decades didn't have androgynous fashion trends (like emo/goth dudes in makeup and black nail polish), but the 2010's is right up there with the 80's.
lol historically men always had long hair and slaves were forcefully had their hair cut short to represent submission so yeah I'm not looking to be a slave anytime soon
Fun fact about historic use of man buns, In my country from 15 to 19th century warriors were wearing long hair in a bun hidden under a cap, so if he got decapitated the enemy would hold his head by the bun and not by the ear, nose or god forbid the mustache.
Can't tell if these are supposed to be ironic at this point. In A LOT of ancient cultures (and still continuing on today), long hair has been a signifier of position, military prowess, and social standing. But aight, I guess man buns are just sissy men copying "women's" hairstyles.
+TheUnitedEstates They seem silly and ironic to me. Like in another vid they say how looking like a wizard makes you not get laid, then immediately do an aside listing places where it works out (comic con, scarborough, etc.)
It depends on who’s sporting it.. some guys definitely look good in it.. and I think it depends on their age. A younger guy would definitely fit this style. Once you hit 40, then the man bun should be banned!
+darkphq thanks, but I am quite secure with my manliness otherwise as well. I don't need to wear a suit or whatever to assert my masculinity. Not saying suits are bad, but if something like a hairstyle trend makes you insecure with your masculinity, then you are probably not man enough in the first place.
I know a dude with "man braids". He is usually clad in leather, tatted up and rides a Harley and has about 75 lbs and 4 inches on anyone he's ever met. The braids don't make him any less intimidating, lol. Also, he's legitimately the nicest guy I've ever met.
These guys with manbuns that think they are Samurai, if you dishonor me, would you maintain your honor by committing Seppuku? I’m just saying, you think you’re a Samurai, you got it, and everything that goes with it.
judgemental* ROTFL, how is this sexist? Oh no, he said something I don't like, now I'm going to call him names and run away and cry because I'm offended! Men need to stop being effeminate weaklings. Grow a pair, be a man, and look and act like one.
***** I'm describing the attribute he is displaying. Freedom of speech is not freedom of criticism. I am free to criticise back. Nobodies crying about anything. No need to be condescending and sexist. Yes you are being sexist. I reject gender stereotypes and embrace individuality. I make no apologies for that.
Nerdy Keith I never said you weren't free to have a countering or critical opinion. I would be hypocritical to hold that view while voicing my own, there are just too many people getting offended whenever someone voices an opposing view. So the guy in the video has a different view than you, that doesn't make him hateful or judgmental. Also, asking men to look decent for once isn't superficial. People will say things you do not agree with, its a simple fact of life. How am I being sexist? Is disliking man buns and skinny jeans now sexist? Give me a break. You say you reject gender stereotypes and embrace "individuality" so I assume you also believe that gender is simply a meaningless social construct that only serves to divide people into subgroups? If you do, then since when did feelings become more important than biological fact and human genetics? This idea that a man switch genders based on what flavor he feels like that day is pure absurdity of leftist social ideology and is anti-factual and unscientific.
***** You can be against anything you want. What is sexist is you enforcing a gender stereotype. It baffles me why you don't understand this simple concept. Gender to a significant degree can be a social construct. However since I am not transgender and a cis male; I identify as male. But the point is my gender doesn't define what choices I can make, who I have a relationship with, what music I like, what my mannerisms should be, what occupation I should have. I doesn't define what types of food I eat, nor what opinions I'm supposed to have. Human biology only provides answers to the biological appearance of men and women. I supplies some information regarding sexuality (not enough though). There is scientific arguments when regarding homosexuality and mannerisms. This is why we have men possessing mannerisms that have been perceived as predominately feminine and why we have women displaying mannerisms that have been perceived as predominately masculine. Its got to do with how the x and y chromosomes are distributed during birth. "This idea that a man switch genders based on what flavor he feels like that day is pure absurdity of leftist social ideology and is anti-factual and unscientific." I partly agree. It is an absurd idea, but it is also a strawman argument. Its a strawman argument, because literally no liberal I have ever encountered as ever made that argument. I really have no idea where you allegedly heard such an argument. You talk to any trans person about why it is they don't fit their biological gender and I guarantee you they will not use that argument. Trans people do not switch their genders by random like that. It is a lifelong struggle based on fear of rejection of society and discrimination. If you want to know the truth about such matters, just talk to trans people and rationally ask them to educate you on their particular situation. Because the entire argument you have against them, is an argument from ignorance. Btw nobody is denying the biological aspect of gender, we are simply saying there is more to gender than biology. The social ideology is also relevant in addition to our biological structure.
Nerdy Keith I have heard plenty of far left liberals, especially the SJW type make that argument, and they generally claim to be "gender fluid" and a few other strange names. I cannot ever say I have heard or been told that because I am a male, then I must like certain types of music, food, mannerisms etc. Those are all aspects of personality. Some men have a more mellow personality, some more rough, while others are more flamboyant. When I say men need to grow a pair, I'm not saying that they cannot have flamboyant or mellow personalities and must all become lumberjacks. I know males with such personalities, but they are also men. Being a man relies on how you act. I'm just tired of seeing so many of my generation being over grown boys, afraid of commitment and personal responsibility, who would rather wear their pajamas all day long. (This is not to say you are that, since I don't know you and thus cannot say anything about that.) I know, I jabbed at man buns and skinny jeans (after all, the point of the video was to be humorous), and those don't necessarily make one not a man. However, most of the males I know that had any desire to sport such trends as skin tight jeans did not have many of these traits. Just a personal observation. How am I enforcing a stereotype? Agreeing with the main idea of this video isn't enforcing anything. Even if I wanted to enforce it, how could I? I cannot, because I cannot control what people do, nor do I wish to.
I think man buns work for some people but deff not in a typical professional office job. If you work at some music place, are still in college, have an artsy job, etc. then it goes with the look.
No I agree, I started sporting a Chonmage like Mifune after I watched Yojimbo again a few months back but this spread of "manbun" is pretty much killing the look...
No matter how hard I tried to find the wit in it, this high production video is just alpha white male being "funny" in the sexist and stereotypical way we all know, by degrading what isn't in the norms of "being a man". Satire is about criticizing negative behaviors, so that would implies that men growing hair are wrong to do so? I get it, everything is contrived to look funny and therefore not to take it seriously and allows douches to be all "It's a joke, man, they're being ironic, get a grip, act like a man". But to me it still sounds like praising judgmental and egotistical manners hidden behind "the joke". It just emphases labels, ethnocentrism (to some extend) and degrades individuality. Maybe the whole point of this video is to actually make fun of the alpha white male, in which case you guys didn't do a very good job. I don't usually get political on RUclips, especially for a lowbrow video, but in time like these with the Trump p*ssy talk scandal, the refugee crisis, the insensible Brexit process, etc.. (I know this was posted a year ago but I just happen to come across it today) I'm pissed off that one would put money on hiring a famous actor and great production in order to diffuse such a dumb message, as benign as one might claim, when one had MANY other current trends (the social kind) and issues to mock. If you guys wanna help "low-income men to become role models for their families and communities" with your #FormalFriday trend, I think you should better show them how to follow what they really strive for, how to put passion in a cause that matters and they believe in, regardless of how they dress and/or look, instead of implicitly telling them that wearing a suit for work will be their goal and success, cause we all know how much good for humanity the ones that wear it have done... Gentlemen Up is a good idea and I respect the good intention greatly but reconsider the notion of "being a gentleman", it's much more than looking smart and speaking well ; it's how you treat others. That escalated quickly, I'm aware, I might have gone a little overboard, and I don't mean to sound like the person that gets offended by the smallest of joke and jumps to conclusions, but today was just not the day to watch a video that spreads the message that men simply growing their fucking hair is against the evolution of man.
He didn't diss men who grow out hair. I grew out my hair before, but I never put it in a gay ass man bun. I either let it all out, slicked it back with pomade, or wore a cap on days when I didn't feel like having it get in the way.
This whole "DeEvolution of Man" series is actually ridiculous, people don't have to fit any form of archetype and the idea that men need to be "real men" (a whole stupid fucking concept anyway) is seriously ridiculous. It's hilarious these people think they're "man" though and yet are so insecure about their own masculinity/gender role that they have these rules they need to follow to apparently feel like/be a "real man".
Leave the man bun men alone. Leave them and the small percentage of women who like it alone. Leaves the majority of women for the rest of us who don't sport douchey hairstyles. Want proof? Just google: "what percentage of women find the man bun attractive?"
+Hector Lopez You know what, you're absolutely right. While we're at it, Ladies; keep that hair long and luxurious. Also stop wearing pants. Skirts and dresses only plz. Can men also start wearing the full-body one piece bathing suits again??
Aedan Mccarty lol way to assume that just because some of the millennial fads are dumb to me that I'm just some grumpy old man who wants to revert back to the black and white era.
+Hector Lopez You don't think your grandparents thought women wearing pants was just a fad? My point is, no fashion style should be gender exclusive. Whether the individual can pull it off or not, is debatable
Aedan Mccarty maybe they did maybe they didn't, it's irrelevant either way. But if you wanna dress like a woman then go for it. I'm just going to make fun of you for doing so since gender exclusive clothing has existed for thousands of years in thousands of cultures and no amount of bitching about how unfair you think it is you can't play dress up without getting made fun of by normal people will change that.
Short hair used to be reserved for the slaves/serfs. Long hair was for men independent of a master. A bun is an easy way to tie hair up while doing arduous work especially with the head facing down and could also be used to cool down. I'm dissapointend with you Dangle.
People hate jokes nowadays. He is a comedian guys..... and he says this all in a satiric way. Stop thinking certain things shouldn't be made fun of plz
The Samurai wore it best.
The guy with that tiny shower drain bun. That's god darn hilarious.
You don’t see real men with no man buns! Think about it. Imagine Clint Eastwood or John Wayne with a man bun.
Miyamoto Musashi
There is literally no point in having extra hair if you're going to hide it away in a "man-bun".
It looks cool, and it’s a more versatile hair cut idk man
I’m not out here rocking a man but I don’t get why people have a problem with it
It’s like a beard, wtf do you want to grow a beard. It’s literally pointless, if anything it gets in the way. It’s just a look that some people like 🤷♂️
@@LeightonMorris You could use a ponytail, even a half ponytail, they are even healtier for your hair, why the man bun?
Let's all just stay focused on what's on our heads and not everyone else's 😐
Actually, man bun is not a "new" thing, the East Asian(CJKV) practice it for centuries even until today.
And no it's not a feminine thing, it's called civilized and those who shaved their head or put their hair down were considered uncivilized or barbaric back in the time.
In the west, where it counts...it is feminine. Period.
or a slave
Haha I love my long hair and wearing in a bun it's Lots of fun lol
glad to see this series return
The butthurt in the comments section of these is nothing short of glorious.
And here I thought it was just me who thought man buns were offensive to men. Thank you Made Man!
Man buns are the worst thing ever.
I love a good man bun
+dilemma may You're lucky you find it attractive, because you've just vastly lowered your percentage of competition from other women.
James Clarno
I think you're underestimating the man bun love among females
Do you even live in reality mate.

One of the least gentlemanly things someone can do is to dismiss his peers just because of their hair.
Sentay0 Its a joke. Stop being a super sensitive bitch.
Well it's not very funny. So either it's a shitty joke or it's a dumb message, pick your poison.
+Sentay0 One of the least gentlemanly things someone can do is to dismiss his peers just because of their sense of humor.
+Sentay0 Do you have a man bun?

Fabian Pacheco I wear chinos, leather jacket and t-shirts. I don't wear tight trousers if that's what you are wondering.

+Nerdy Keith that's cool to each their own. I wear tight jeans and short shorts. My hair is a short combover.but I like the slick back look too
Fabian Pacheco cool
Jeepers creepers people, stop taking this vid so seriously dammit.
Sorry… ._. I just took it a little bit too personal because I have long hair…
.....and no dick.

Anyone want some onions.

Hilarious 😂 7 years later I too am sporting bun whilst reading this too funny! 😂
This is comedy - satire; for entertainment purposes only. The target of the satire isn't hair, it's men.
Man Buns are the worst....
>being this insecure about your sexuality
*watches video then proceeds to read through the comments to see all the butt-hurt manbunners* xD
The manbun is my generation's mullet

i like to see man buns.. i wouldnt want everyone wearing the same hairstyle its appealing to the eye not to see a common pattern
lol i rarely see them.. maybe on tv.. but not so much in person.. i see way more side parts
samurais were greater men than you ever will be
I just want too look like Jesus or John Lenon 😂
lol historically men always had long hair and slaves were forcefully had their hair cut short to represent submission so yeah I'm not looking to be a slave anytime soon
Fuzzy Ideology Back in the old days, people thought smoking was good for you.
100% true now in 2021 men r becoming more woman with makeup n skinny jeans

I call it the gay bun.
nothing manly about bun. WoManbun

Jared Aguiar same thoughts right here :D i bet he wears skinny jeans, vapes all the time and has glasses although he doesn't need any
darkphq Actually, wrong. I am bald, skinny jeans can't accommodate my big legs and I have asthma so I have never smoked anything in my life. So yeah.
How about this, recognize that some things are gross and douchey.
v1v43 Here's a more revolutionary idea. Stop being a sensitive bitch who takes jokes and gets offended by them.
In ancient Java man ALWAYS had man buns.
this the reason im growing out my hair :(
This is hairlarioius! Lots of tears getting shed in the comments. Beware.
Yeah, wear your hair however you want, or however is most convenient or useful to you. It's unmanly to make a big deal out of someone's hair.
Except if you're Ibrahimovic, then you can do whatever the fuck you want
Opinions are like ass holes.
Everyone has one. Few are edible .
Haha, I want a man bun for a start but this video is so funny, crumbs, so good haha :)
Sadly, man has devolved to the point where we now have achieved "Man Braids". For the first time ever, I'm actually glad I'm losing my hair.
lmao i hope you keep your hair on the sides and just loose the one on top...just like me

How about offering a couple of other style suggestions instead of sounding like my alpha-male, passive-aggresive stepfather "Man up, don't be a sissy"
how about listening to your step father instead of acting like a lil bitch?
Daddy issues much?
"Toshiro Mifune" in "Yojimbo"...Basically a Topknot but the man was indeed a badass!
Come on now, totally different story bro. That Mifune we're talking about.
No I agree, I started sporting a Chonmage like Mifune after I watched Yojimbo again a few months back but this spread of "manbun" is pretty much killing the look...
the reason so many men are wearing their hair in a bun now is because it looks really good
Agreed, my guy hates long hair (it curls). I wish he'd get a man bun. :(
It looks really stupid.
It looks like crap. Just like broads who shave their heads 😂😂
Thank you.
Meu cabelo quero que fique assim
not gonna lie i do rock ze bun but i thought this was hilariouse thanks for the vid!
so, only women can use long hair,go back in time and see, all men used long hair
I have to wear a bun for work, should I just quit so as to remain more gentlemanly?
That escalated quickly, I'm aware, I might have gone a little overboard, and I don't mean to sound like the person that gets offended by the smallest of joke and jumps to conclusions, but today was just not the day to watch a video that spreads the message that men simply growing their fucking hair is against the evolution of man.
this is too real
Tomas Petkovski Oh look white men are somehow responsible for the sins of mankind.
He didn't diss men who grow out hair. I grew out my hair before, but I never put it in a gay ass man bun. I either let it all out, slicked it back with pomade, or wore a cap on days when I didn't feel like having it get in the way.
But girls are demanding that I wear a man bun, it's not my choice.
First man bun was ragnar's man bun
first.
This whole "DeEvolution of Man" series is actually ridiculous, people don't have to fit any form of archetype and the idea that men need to be "real men" (a whole stupid fucking concept anyway) is seriously ridiculous. It's hilarious these people think they're "man" though and yet are so insecure about their own masculinity/gender role that they have these rules they need to follow to apparently feel like/be a "real man".
ok so let me get this straight.. A man with a receding hairline and a hungry ego for authority is going to tell other men how to style their hair?
These videos are DISGUSTING
fart
this is so sad, this channel is made by boys not men
Okay, Boomer.
sad to see you do something so heteronormative, Tom
+Cassidy Billet Found the SJW
Leave the man bun men alone. Leave them and the small percentage of women who like it alone. Leaves the majority of women for the rest of us who don't sport douchey hairstyles. Want proof? Just google: "what percentage of women find the man bun attractive?"
im sorry but if you never grow your hair out past 3 inches then you cant give me hair advice.
boring
Also, be funnier: This is bad copy. Also, also: Aren't you worried about investing in a shrinking demographic/ saturated market?
How about a video that inspires men to dress the way they want to? Didn't really find this one that funny
because there's styles that are ridiculous for men to be attempting at and one way to get them to listen is by lots and lots of ridiculing
How is hair conected to deevolution youre not funny
Short hair used to be reserved for the slaves/serfs. Long hair was for men independent of a master. A bun is an easy way to tie hair up while doing arduous work especially with the head facing down and could also be used to cool down. I'm dissapointend with you Dangle.
Nooooooo man buns are amazing
+John Perkens I identify as female so I can't possibly be butt hurt and 2 the term "fag" is unnecessary
This is kinda funny but it’s still an ok hairstyle
i like mine
These videos just simply are gay bashing and sending hate messages nothing cool about that!
i dont judge .. but some of these manbun hairatyles are just AWFULLllllll
I have a manbun
