At age 8 my grandfather,a women’s tailor, taught me how to check fabric. Clothing labels make it easier now. Even with making my own clothes it can be difficult. Enjoyed the video Julila. Sorry if I spelled your name wrong- Claudia
As far as upcycling is concerned, everything old is new again. For example, flour used to come in fabric sacks, before I was born in the late 1950s, and I still have five tea towels my grandmother made from the sacks. As for the quality of ready-made garments, I started sewing over 40 years ago because I couldn't afford the quality of clothing I liked. A lot of what was in my price range then wasn't good quality, and it's worse today.
I think it’s even more difficult to find ready-made quality clothes in stores these days… I have a few items I bought 10-15 years ago and they still look good, while new ones would definitely be several times the price I paid back then, and quality would not be a guarantee🤔
Love that puffer vest!
