2 Samuel 23:1-7 (ESV)
The Last Words of David
23 Now these are the last words of David:
The oracle of David, the son of Jesse,
the oracle of the man who was raised on high,
the anointed of the God of Jacob,
the sweet psalmist of Israel:[a]
2 “The Spirit of the Lord speaks by me;
his word is on my tongue.
3 The God of Israel has spoken;
the Rock of Israel has said to me:
When one rules justly over men,
ruling in the fear of God,
4 he dawns on them like the morning light,
like the sun shining forth on a cloudless morning,
like rain[b] that makes grass to sprout from the earth.
5 “For does not my house stand so with God?
For he has made with me an everlasting covenant,
ordered in all things and secure.
For will he not cause to prosper
all my help and my desire?
6 But worthless men[c] are all like thorns that are thrown away,
for they cannot be taken with the hand;
7 but the man who touches them
arms himself with iron and the shaft of a spear,
and they are utterly consumed with fire.”[d]

Oh my goodness! This is EXACTLY how I feel, now that my study group, which consists of our 91 yr old mother and her 6 girls, is on chp 23 of 2 Samuel. I feel like I'm about to say goodbye to a grandfather or someone close like one. I truly love David and his heart. He was not perfect. Which makes me love him all the more. I'm so grateful to God for sacrificing His only begotten Son Jesus. Studying His Word reminds me to stay joyful. Even when times get concerning. Scripture like 2Samuel and the life of David is confirmation that Jehovah God has indeed sent His Son King Jesus to pardon us of our sins and loving us still. How do I know, you may ask. Because He left us with a Comfortor. Hallelujah and Amen!❤

I enjoyed the Bible study. The LORD has always helped me so much with the story of Jacob wrestling with the LORD. Also, I was wondering if exodus 40:38 would be a picture of the Trinity? It talks about the cloud of the Lord that led them. THE Holy Spirit leads us. Then it talks about the fire. Our God is a consuming fire and then, it talks about the Tabernacle which was a picture of Jesus, our Saviour. The last line of that verse Kjv says they were with the house of Israel throughout all their journeys. That reminded me of what Jesus said in Matthew 28:20. Lo, I Am with you alway even unto the end of the world. Even to the end of our journey. Thank you for these Bible studies and for putting your whole heart into them. The Lord bless you and keep you all in His loving care❤
