Lol thats funny. When i was really low level with my alt i went out there to get sky shards and kept sneaking. I wanted to stay outta the battles cuz my build wasn't setup for PVP

If you are complaining about this build, then you are killing/targeting non threat players in cyrodil. This build cant hurt you unless you are stupid. Issues in eso have always, and will always come from coordinated setups/skills between players that allow highest damage with highest survivability. This build is actually completely balanced since it cant hurt anything. lol.
This build can ruin your 1vX 2vX or joy of killing small groups or zerglings.. This build can ruin you when you sieging castle and a guy comes and burn your sieges etc 🤣🤣Do you need more annoying explanations or no 🙄
I've literally watched 10 tanks siege a keep slowly and I mean slowly kill the guards and take the keep. Couldn't even kill the group without a zerg. Stupidest thing I've ever seen. My buddy and I were trying to find some 2vx fights ran into that killed 3 and gave up after they necro res. They couldn't kill us and we couldn't kill them. I did tbag the ones we killed for a good bit though fuck pvp tanks

@@Mei_83Agree. They can keep tanks around. There's nothing wrong with being a damage sponge on the front line but it needs to be reigned in big time.

Health and stam bonus by 2000 which is big. A block reduction and a 333 return on all resources
(The 6% reduction applies to roll dodge, block, sprint and break free. It applies to pretty much everything.
That's right, my char just happens to not be an imperial but it would indeed be a noticeable difference
@@MalcolM. I have tried your build and well people tell me that this is not allowed xD, the build is especially powerful against people who spam projectiles at you at a fast pace. Also it's a huge counter against stealth archers who use the psijic line tree and use an autoattack with the crossbow from fighters guild, if you use it while they are shooting at you you literally return back some 100k flat damage to them, while they sit at 20k health with 20k resistances xDDDD
It's such an amazing build for real and also you can just tank anything in PvE and not die Oakensoul is really handy as well with the free 24/7 buffs!

Been using this build for a while now, it is really fun. Works great in battlegrounds and also after slotting a taunt I run daily rnd's with this build. I isn't a main build but plenty good to get some daily transmutes with. In cyro it works well for manning seige equipment but will fall easily to any group that is coordinated enough to simultainious ulti drop you but then again I don't know any builds that can survive that.
Hah I've used this in dungeons as well (provided that it's something that needs a tank to begin with) so I also like the versatility there!

This build is great. However, as soon as I became a vampire I started taking a lot more damage and die a little easier. I wonder what i’m doing wrong?

I was wondering about one skill. Im a DK and I saw you use protective plate should I used that vamp skill ( mistform ) over it or stay with plate skill ? Id like to midmax this build to the fullest because I used to play tank back in the day. I was wondering for race would say Nord is best in slot ? I heard Mara's Balm was a good set but not anymore, so would that Cyrodiil Chest be best in slot ? Is impenetrable not important anymore? I stop playing a hand full of years ago

Question!!??? Which is your preferred one for this build @MalcolM? I just tried the necro worked awesome and it’s currently a dark elf😅 The necro and Templar are the only class that can remove effects correct?🤔
Warden can also remove effects with the netch skill. But it's not comparable to those other two classes. My favorite class for this is arcanist. My least favorite tank class is sorc.

I have a question - how can you kill that kind of build if you are playing against it?
Have experienced it in BGs and sometimes it's hard to even Xv1 people like this with the whole BG team
well if the player is not doing anything relevant (for example it's a deathmatch bg) then the best move is to just leave him/her alone as the build has no damage to kill players. If the player is holding a ball in chaosball for example then it's more difficult. I mean it's a tank build it's not surprising that it's hard to take down. The things that I fear the most while playing this build is snares & roots (if I don't have mistform), negates and meatbag catapults (but those are only in cyro).

Sometimes you can take them down but sometimes it's way harder - near impossible

I had tried this build a year+ ago when it first came out with my DK, worked pretty well but had some issues with it. I just noticed it again in my feed and saw it mentions arcanist, so I thought I'd try it there... working pretty well so far! Most players give up and run away, unless I get caught by a large group at once then I get hammered down fairly quickly.
I've been trying blood mist instead of lingering flare, although I lose the 10% damage reduction, I can also heal more with it and cause a little more damage to NPCs... still takes a long time to kill NPCs but every little bit of damage to them helps. I still miss that they nerfed blood mist; used to use that for a hilarious fart cloud build that was an awesome troll tank.
Haha yeah I enjoyed those mistform builds as well, it was funny
I think lingering flare and blood mist are simply interchangeable so by all means go for what you like there. As for defeating npcs, it's true it takes a long time but with the changes I discussed at the end of this video it goes a bunch quicker and you still keep most of the tankiness. Plus cyro quest npcs are not high health ( keep guards are another story).
Hey Malcolm, what would be your setup for a dark con / VD or PB bombblade without onslaught or brawler.. maybe dawnbreak or soul tether instead? I dont have access to the cleave weapon atm and would like a possible alternative setup.. Thanks
Yo, I would backbar convergence, frontbar vicious death with markten majesty and 2pc balorgh. With dual wield axes and whirling blades and soul tether or dawn breaker (depends on preference). It will not be as much damage as master 2h, but it's still enough and I've seen others bomb successfully with it.

would this build do well in dungeons and trials? I run a healer but this made me want to make a tank just to give it a shot

I wonder if you could survive siege attacks by adding the support shield. Did you try that already ?
Sure, if you have a spare skillslot or want to try it instead of lingering flare for example. I didn't try that yet because while siege is a big counter (meatbag catapult) there are a lot of fights in which the skill will remain unused as well. You could also just slot mistform and port out of the aoe from meatbags for example.
@@MalcolM. Indeed, the kite will always perform better. But that would be funny to just stand in front of a sieged door not moving and immortal.

I run a similar build. I run maras balm, swift and bloodspawn. My ulti refens before it cools down so ive got 100% up time on spell wall. Ive ran his same setup on my templar but i die less with mine.

Please, if you are watching, keep this build out of BGs. Fair play if you want to go into Cyro and survive without having to do anything, you can give this a go. But relic games are already painful enough for real PvP'ers. Having people enter such games who have no intention of actually doing PvP HARMS the future of ESO PvP
A relic games main aim is to capture relics. This build in Death Match, I feel you there. But in objective games...
Do you have a clear idea of how many Deathmatch games a hardened BG player will get from 100 queues? How often we get stuck in complete frustration facing people who will do anything to avoid a fight?
I don't mind objective PvP provided it's still possible to win by doing the objective VIA fighting.

1. Do you go into pvp with 16k health and light armor or do you go into pvp with a build specific for pvp? If you are going into capture the relic the object is to capture and hold a relic, a build that is specifically good at doing that is called.........playing the game!!
2. I love how people that just personally don't like a feature or a build or something cramps their style they try to justify not liking it by claiming it breaks the game and they are just being a white knight to protect the game. Remember don't run this build, do it for " THE CHILDREN!" hahhaha
3. You don't sound like a real PVP'er more like a real CRI'er1
pretty weak in death match but you can
1. make a couple equipment changes in the match lead up time to be able to do some damage.
2. slot guard and between the guard skill and throwing out any heals you have that also heal the group you can still be a helpful member of the team!
3. also in plenty of battlegrounds people that enounter me using this build loose their ever loving minds and forget the objective, they just all pile up and try to kill me while my team takes out the stragglers!

I just put this together on my khajit nightblade just for fun. Sustain is bad because of vampire, you get absolutely demolished in BG's by 2-3 people in a matter of seconds (ok no cp but still) went into CP Imperial city got killed by a couple of people wailing on me on multiple occasions. Haven't been to Cyrodiil but definitely not looking forward to it. Not a complete noob either Cp 2000.
So far I would call this The Shittiest PvP Tank. Going to try on other class/race and see how it works.
I'm afraid that if this doesn't work for you, it's a major skill issue. I simply cannot make this any easier than it already is. This build is already as low-skill level as it gets. As for what exactly you're doing wrong, I cannot tell just from a comment. With 2000 cps and on a nb this should be no problem, and the fact that you think being a vampire is a drawback says a lot too.

Wanted to update just to be fair, I have put this build on a Nord Arcanist and ran it through some content, It can be indeed a lot of fun and I have taken on large groups successfully and have also been taken out by smaller groups of coordinated people. I would say it's all situational and it really depends who you come across.
I was messing with an Imperial city group of 6 who could not kill me, then they all came back with a sorc who was casting Silence to negate my healing skills and eventually they came back with 10 people and you cannot stand up to that.
I eventually got my Cyrodiil Angler on a nightblade and only saw a single person while I was there and he didn't want to fight.
Fun troll build but not really that useful tbh.

the only way you can die on this build is you are not paying attention to stuns (you don't break free) & don't cleanse yourself. If you have struggle with that you can use Mara's Balm with either Expunge and Modify (Necro) or Extended Ritual (Templar). Traits and enchants same, on templar you can swap Restoring Focus, because you already have Major Resolve from Oakensoul. On necro you can play with another morph Hexproof, you will cleanse more negative effects, but will lose stamina and magicka regen, so imho Expunge & Modify is better choice, cause you can restore stamina even when you are blocking attacks
PS Forgot to mention, Mara's Balm + Battalion Defender (you can try to swap Battalion with Swift, but it's light, and it will reduce your resistances, so it's a choice for 2 bar builds, which is much more tankier). Body: all Sturdy + health. Jewelry: Infused + bracing. Weapon: 1h&shield Powered & Sturdy w/ Escapist Poison
Also you can try to make all body reinforced on Necro, buffing your Armor you will be taking less dmg, so it's win win. Because you are restoring stamina while blocking with Expunge & Modify, in PVP there's no armor cap (33k), most of good players using Lover mundus/have a lot of pen lines in armor/using Onslaught (2h ult, especially nightblade gankers in NO-CP, though it will not help you, cause only this ult and Corrosive Armor shreds through resistances for some time), so you will be living much longer and you have enough reduced block cost even with jewelry infused+bracing, but use this method only on Necro, other classes (apart from Dragon Knight and Werewolf) can't restore stamina while blocking.
For race the best blocking tank race will be Imperial (especially on Templar, cause cost reduction stacks and it also applies to block cost, dodge roll, bash etc, rather then Sorcerer, where it applies only on skills). Also maybe you are dying because of not using tri-stat potions (Bugloss+Columbine+Mountain Flower). It's a huge recovery boost, cause it gives you all major recovery buffs and as an oakensoul user you already have minor recovery buffs (and yes it stacks). The mundus is Lady (Atronach considered sometime better for sustain, but in PVP as a tank all you need is dmg reduction, so it's best to overcap your armor, and if you are doing all right, you will not have problems in sustain)

@@mynameisprivate158 hence why I suggest mistform. Not like you're gonna outrun a group with it, but you can kite to a place where it's easier to tank and where they might give up.
This game sucks because it allows participation trophy playstyles like this in PvP
