Flower sales at the farmers market and at our roadside stand have been so good, that we have been falling behind on all our farm projects and chores. It takes a lot of time to harvest, process, arrange, and sell over a hundred bouquets a week, and all that work was being prioritized over prepping new ground for our succession planting. That means that if we don't get some work done on the farm, we will run out of flowers to sell come mid summer. We do not want to have to shut down the farm, so we need to somehow find to time to do the sales, and also get our farm planted and back on track. Can we find time to sell and get the farm back on track and planted for a strong summer season? You gotta watch to find out.

"I'm probably going to be up until about 3 in the morning" (meanwhile I'm noticing her coffee cup is the size of her head) haha..love it
It’s time to hire help 👍
I literally teared up when you showed the flowers in the stand at the farmers market! They were just outstanding!!! Also, I laugh every time I hear Serena say anything about getting to bed "at a decent time" on a Friday night. We all know that it's a given that she will be up until at least 3:00 am.
Basically because she gets going too late...She seems to prefer working at night....
Lol, my normal bed time is 1am, so 2am is my decent, and I don't get tired till after 3am
My mom would say you are a night owl! But I can easily do that schedule.
Serina certainly has a talent for putting together beautiful bouquets🌸
Thanks!
Life is a balance. I had a senior lady tell me once that when you are on your death bed, you will never say “I wish I would have worked more & spent less time with my family”. Enjoy those littles. They grow up so fast!
Totally! We like to take a few hours every day in the summer and enjoy the beautiful place we live. We are 5 minutes from 3 lakes, so we are very lucky
My husband laughed out loud when he saw you working at night with your headlamp---he said, "That's why you like her so much!!" 😁 I do my best gardening at night! LoL I also negotiated with the kids to let me sleep in when they were younger, now they know. You guys are so fun to watch 😎
So many beautiful bouquets. If I visited your stand, I wouldn’t be able to chose. So I’d be back each week so I could try a new one. You are a very talented florist!
Thanks!
I love Serina’s face when she’s talking about the ranunculus multiplying: It’s a touch of “My precious”. But every gardening person knows how reasonable this pinch of madness is 😀 I admire your work and I’m grateful for the luxury of watching the results of your hard work with my feet up. I’m sure I couldn’t do your workload.
It is crazy to think that if that greenhouse with 500 plants turns into 2000 corms, plus the 1000 I've ordered and the 2 other outdoor beds (*my preciousssss)
Your calendula and ranunculus are HUGE! the anemones and snaps are amazing too! They are all florist quality! The difference between last year and this year’s flower harvest is truly inspiring!
I have been following you guys for 3 years and finally made it to Kelowna and met you! You are very hard working, hospitable people. Thank you for sharing your life with your viewers.
Did you get the snapdragons?
Applause for taking the break to do the fun things with the kids. The balance is so hard. Your bouquets have matured so much and are gorgeous. Is it time for a one or two week part time assistant to help with planting so you can continue to grow??
Once the farm increases revenue to justify an employee again we will, this year we are trying to keep costs low so that we can make a bit of money
❤️
You know they wanted to go to the splash park more than the kids did. Using those poor kids as an excuse lol
I’m so glad to see you guys being able to take some fun time with your sweet children and for yourselves. You never cease to amaze me with the stunning beauty of your bouquets. I see what you snap off and I think to myself.. they’re pretty… and interesting.. I doubt I could do much besides just put some in a vase. Then I see your amazing creations and WOW! EVERY TIME!! Serena! Girl! You have a gift! Nurse always watching in North Carolina. Good to see you feeling better. 🙂
Thanks so much 💗
You guys are some of the hardest working flower farmers and RUclipsr's out there! I love that you are from Canada and BC. I can always relate to your weather related issues as I often have similar issues on Vancouver Island! I watch all of your videos. Your bouquets are always amazing. I love all the new recipes you come up with. Wishing you your most abundant growing year ever! Kind regards Lisa 🌸
Hey Lisa, I spent years on the island living in Vic (Serina and I met there) and living on Mayne Island, I miss the coast, it's so beautiful. Thanks for watching
I love EVERYTHING about this. Hard work, beautiful flowers, family time. Seriously, your work ethic is sooooo impressive. It'll all get done.
Thanks so much, it's a grind but being able to make videos that people enjoy keeps me motivated to get moving every day
I never get tired of seeing all this beauty! Your flowers are beyond awesome! And, of course, kitties!!!!
We can't seem to film a video without lots of cat footage, next video has a bunch of our kitten Dusty in it
@@YouCantEatTheGrass Love it!!!!
I love the little introductions at the beginning of each episode. And of course the dynamic duo can do it
Lol, Thanks!
It was cool to see you have ranunculus, peonies , sunflowers and zinnias all at once! That was like a flower farming miracle!
Lol
Ooohh how I love the harvesting part 😍😍😍 so satisfying seeing those beautiful colors and hearing the clipping sounds 💞💞💞
Just had a random thought, but it would look incredible, if on the roadside white fence, or somewhere, you had a lot of your flowers planted out front - so the people driving by, will have that visual of your gorgeous flowers - along with the sign advertising.
I look forward to your videos all the time. Everything looks glorious, guys, especially the fillers! I just have a soft spot for the whimsical fillers. Yarrow, Feverfew, Strawflowers and Calendulas are my favorite. Very excited for some Sunflowers! Much love from the Philippines 💖
I'm very happy for sunflower season to be back
I love the harvesting part of flowers, Serina it's just so relaxing how I wish I live near your farm.
Watching from Philippines 🇵🇭
💗💗💗
Wow, your bouquets are looking amazing, incredible how much work you both put into your business. Good luck with the rest of the season💚
Thanks!
You grow the most absolute lush and gorgeous flowers. Everything looks so healthy and beautiful just like the pictures in seed catalogs! I always enjoy watching your videos and hearing the crunching, satisfying snips of cutting flowers. 🌸 ♥♥ 🌸
Lol, Ian loves all the clip noises when he edits
You are both amazing! Serena, your flower arranging is an absolute work of art. I have to ask, when do you have time to do laundry, clean the house, cook dinner…..? I enjoy your videos very much. 🌸🌺🌼
We don't, lol. Ian does the majority too, while he is working on videos inside
So, I know we don’t know each other from Adam. But I feel like Serena underestimates her health struggles. Someone your age should be overall quite healthy. Just looking back at all your videos I can document some pretty significant health struggles. You guys do a beautiful job. But you must have sleep. You must have restorative sleep. Even at $15 an hour it would only be 120 bucks for you to have a bouquet maker come in once a week. Your recipes are beautiful, but anyone that enjoys making bouquets can come up with beautiful bouquets because you’ve given them the most beautiful constituents with which to work. Your flowers are phenomenal! That’s a very small price to pay for Serena getting the restorative sleep that her body needs to heal. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. But as a holistic RN, I worry myself over Serena‘s health struggles we’ve noticed over the period of your videos, her lack of restorative sleep, and her being challenged at self-care. You deserve an employee to give you a break on the days that you need sleep. You deserve an employee that will give you what you need to heal. Another option would be to do it similar to what Nicole does from flower Hill Farm. I love how she lines up eight or 10 bouquets on a table and just adds in the constituents and basically makes 10 bouquets at one time versus one bouquet at a time. Maybe something like that would help. Take care. Please.
Serina stays up late, but she gets a big sleep in on Sunday to recover. I agree though, we can't do this forever, and we are trying to prioritize sleep
@@YouCantEatTheGrass actually...when your in sleep deficits actually takes your body 3 hours for each one.hour
Science..ya know
Wow! I didn’t think it was possible but you out did yourself…the bouquets were more beautiful than ever 💐 Serina you truly have a talent for this 😉
Thanks!
Rewatching your videos...need more, please.
I root for you guys so hard! Thanks for sharing your lives with us.
💗💗💗
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
Beautiful product plus Serena's talent equals Amazing bouquets! Ian, consider having another level of bouquets in buckets down low in front of the tables..it will catch people's eye a lot better from that point of view 😉as they walk by.
Agree! They are so beautiful!
Thanks!
Wonderful farmers and parents ❤ so happy for your success!
Those bouquets were so beautiful!!!! Love all the different color combinations. Stunning! God bless y'all 😊
Thanks!
Wonderful bouquets, Serina, as always. I can’t believe you went to the splash park on a Friday! OMG! It is always nice to take a break and you certainly deserve it. If you haven’t seen Nicole’s latest video, she mentioned something new she is trying this year….a product to add in the water when she cuts her flowers that keeps them from opening further in the cooler. Thought you might be interested in that. Also, I saw another video this week that made me think of Leah……pressed flowers, herbs, grasses, etc. they would be great on her cards…Maybe make some blank note cards. Pressing flowers sounded like something that might interest her and be fun. Thought I’d mention it. Your little entrepreneur is so creative. 🥰🦋🕊
Great idea! Thanks for sharing
@@YouCantEatTheGrass It's a Flora Life Product. I'm guessing Flora Life 200 or Flora Life Clear 200.
@@YouCantEatTheGrass
The video was Linda Vater DIY Crafts for Hottest Summer Days. I think Leah would find it interesting. She popped into my mind immediately and I knew I had to tell you about it. The young woman who did them starts them in a book and finishes in the microwave, but really they dry pretty quickly in a book and the microwave could burn them. I used to do it when I was a child with just wax paper so it didn’t stain the book or stick to the pages and weigh it down with another heavy book. You have lots of flowers for her to choose from and she could use some of the blossoms that may be a little too open for bouquets. It’s always interesting to see how they look when they dry. The possibilities are endless. 🥰
Serina is me! "i need to get some work done around here!" *immediately starts snuggling a cat*
Priorities...
All the bouquets were so stunning! If I went to your farmers stand I wouldn’t know which bouquet to pick cuz they are all just so gorgeous!!!
One of everything lol
I love seeing your smiling face as you show off all those beautiful blooms. Your joy is contagious! 💐🌞
Erin at Floret Flowers has videos on how to make mixed bouquets quickly and efficiently using the assembly line method. She learned to do that when they were making many bouquets for grocery stores years ago. Erin still likes the assembly line method. After harvesting, she puts them in water for a couple of hours for conditioning. Then takes them out of the bucket and makes piles in the order she is going to use them. Maybe you could try this technique so you can get done quicker and get some sleep. Love seeing your beautiful flowers and bouquets! 🌻
For us, the arranging is the quick part, the harvesting and cleaning/processing is the most time consuming. There are definitely more efficiencies to be had though, we are trying to get better every year
Proud you guys got a sponsorship! Y'all really deserve it. I was thinking, since you guys do the HDTV type intro id love to hear "and now a word from our sponsor" in the same dramatic voice. Just feels thematically appropriate.
Lol, totally! That's a great idea
I love those pink and whites 😍. Well i was until i saw the yellow and white, then the peachy mixture. I think i just love them all 🧡🧡
So what you are saying you want one of everything lol me too
It's hard to pick a favorite
Watching you both work makes me stop feeling for myself because I have so much to do. I just need to get off my butt and work. Thanks for the motivation.Great job guys!
Get it!
Oh, my, your flowers are just stunning. Thanks for sharing your hard work & videos. Glad you take time for yourself to rest too. That's important too. Best wishes. 👌
We try and prioritize some family time every day
Love you guys so much, continued success! I had a little stupid medical person moment - as a pharmacist, one of the basic things we tell our patients is to not store medicines or supplements in your bathroom - the humidity causes accelerated degradation. Just put them in your kitchen/pantry or however you would store dry goods like flour. Your flour and flowers look amazing - thank you for sharing it with all of us and spreading some joy 😁
So happy to see that your business ii growing so well, wish you could have more help. As an older person I know eventually all this will wear you down but best wishes for you to continue to succeed and make a living at this passion of yours.
Every year gets a little easier. Maintaining the farm takes a lot of work, but building it up while maintaining it feels like a struggle sometimes. We are getting there though, we only have a few more big projects and we keep investing into efficiency tools every year, that really help. I know it doesn't seem like much in the videos, but having the wheel racks to move flowers this year has been really transformative to our time and bodies.
You both work so hard but your flowers are incredible! Love you're videos. So glad you are feeling better! Love and happiness today and always
💗💗💗
Wow! Everything looks so full, abundant, healthy, and GORGEOUS!
This intros are so good that I go back and just rewatch the videos for the intros! Love it!
It was great to see the hard work that goes on in the background when growing those beautiful flowers.
Outstanding!!!!! The flowers you have grown are perfection and the combinations are so very very pretty!
Thanks!
Serena you got the best job ever,I just love it ,you never have to work a day in your life when you love what you do. The smile on your face says it all .
You guys are just so awesome. You work very hard and it shows. Your farm/garden is beautiful. Definitely one of my fav gardeners! Greeting from zone 7 Delaware, USA.
Thanks!
I absolutely love watching you and your family!! Thank you for all that you share! I'm a flower farmer as well in PA. Can you please share where you purchased your metal buckets? I love the look of those so much! Your bouquets and farm are so stunning!! Your passion shines through when you're talking about the different bouquet combinations!🙂💐
Serina, I really think that you have to have help on regular basis if you want to expand your business without absolutely destroying your health!
Hopefully next year, but we do get some help from friends and family
Yay, you finally got one of those stem chopper thingamybobs.... 😁😁😁 it was hurting my soul seeing you snip each individual stem by hand every week
Serena thank you for sharing your beautiful flowers 💐 ❤. Later on you will make for blogging your flowers.
Such beautiful flowers! I wish I was near you but alas I am in the USA. I have a suggestion for the guillotine tool that you use to trim the stems. If you can mount it onto a long board and then set the whole thing over a large garbage can and somehow secure the board onto the can, the cut pieces would then fall right into the can and save you clean up time and mess on the floor. And the guillotine would be more solid and not move around when you use it.
Someone mentioned they basically have theirs on a saw horse, so they can do the same thing and move it around, and that is the plan. Though it will most likely be a fall job
I stumbled upon your channel and I’m loving it! I love seeing your bouquets ❤
Lots of hard work! Beautiful flower bouquets I've ever seen 😍 someday the kids will be able to help out.
🤞
You are giving us some very good ideas, I have chard I can use on my allotment, would never have thought to use it in a flower arrangement nor kale flowers. I am looking at things with a new eye. We are going to grow some renunculus so we can make our own rainbow bouquet. Thank you for the ideas.
Love seeing your videos. You make the most beautiful bouquets. So happy you got your comments back!
Oh my gosh!!!! I LOVE ALL those bouquets. They are BEAUTIFUL 🤩❤️❤️❤️you guys are the best!
Thanks!
Lol, Was watching on my iPad and when your friend said hey Siri open camera, my Siri opened too! Lol 😂✌🏻🙏🏼❤️🐝🌻🌸💐💕
I knew there was a good reason I'm watching RUclips at 4am PST. A new video from you guys!! I can hardly wait to see what's happening on the Farm! 🌻
Lol
I am just amazed at the incredible beauty and size of your flowers!! They look like photos from seed catalogs! What amendments do you use in your soil? Or is it naturally very healthy?
The flowers are just amazing and awsome. Your plan seems to be working really well!
Serina really figured things out well
I love that you do nice long videos. Keep them coming!
Thanks for the feedback!
Yes, I find myself watching them multiple times.
I have a lot of respect for you and other farmers!!!
Thanks!
If I could grow just 1/4 of what you two grow, I would be so delighted!!
I hope you get there some day!
I loved this video! Great job on everything you're doing! And, is great to see all the fun you have with the kids!
Thanks!
Those bouquets almost made me cry, they are so beautiful. Well done!
It's fun that our bouquets can get appreciated in person and online, glad you enjoyed!
I would go stark raving mad trying to decide which ones of these glorious things to take home.
💗💗💗
Hello 👋 how are you doing?
As a mom of four, it is a rare parent who can get quality work done during their children’s waking hours without someone watching their kids. About 90% of the work we do from home happens post bedtime.
I'm definitely lucky to have Ian free up childfree time for me. But the after bed shift is definitely essential
Beautiful flowers, thanks for sharing your video clip
The pink and white bouquets! OMG Divine! 💕 🌸
Thanks!
yeahh new good vibes video again for the perfect couple and partner,, with their incredible farm..love you serena😘😘
💗💗💗
Serena, your beautiful at creating the most lovely and interesting arrangements! It’s breathtaking! You found your sweet spot! Wish I lived in BC, I would be by weekly! ✌🏻🙏🏼❤️🌻🥦🌸💐🥰
Be well. Be safe. Your bouquets are outstanding.
Thanks!
Your flowers are stunning!
Hello from Slovakia, I really like you, your channel, your flowers, plants, you are awesome and sooooo beautiful bouquets, very talented are youuuuuu!!!! Wish you alllll the best and joy, peace, and love :)
Thanks!
Nailed it with the bouquet combinations this week
Serina your flowers are amazing!
Your bouquets are absolutely gorgeous!! I don't know how you do the late nights. Hoping you get lots of sleep somewhere along the way:)
I always sleep late in the mornings, so I still get sleep
Good to know!! It's so important!
I know this is the least relevant thing, but I absolute melt everytime your cats show up. That big tuxie is just the most precious thing. (Also Ohgod I feel for you on the sleep deprivation thing. That’s so *hard*!)
The cats are part of our story so it seems right that they are in the videos
Who can resist those flowers I wish I was closer so I could buy 2 bouquets
Gorgeous colors today. I’m loving the new recipes!
Thanks, Serina keeps upping her game
Your flowers are incredible and the bouquets are beautiful!!
Thanks!
Serena, I know ur free time is limited, but look into the local high schools for any teens interested in "adding some experience and community service hours" to their college resumes 😉Extra hands are all around you, asks and ye shall receive ❤️
Great channel always look forward to your next video. Quick question is it a good idea to have a portable hoop house so when early flowers are over it can be moved to later crops? Great to see how your evolving the farm very interesting.
It’s got to be almost Heaven with all those beautiful flowers 🌺 .
I love your roadside stand!
Also, your tunes are awesome. I really like the one with the clipper sounds.
Can you give me the title?
I love your Ranunculus beds they look amazing, tell us how and what you did to make them look so great!Love you and your channel!
I had weird cold dry spring weather, lol. It was basically the perfect year for them. I don't expect to ever have a year like this again
excellent videos! from where did you buy the still buckets?
The snaps looking amazing! Wondering if you guys should experiment with RUclips shorts -- feel like the flower harvesting would do well in the format and might be an easier way to get out content when you can't do a live or need to take more time on a vlog?
I can’t wait to visit your flower stand this summer! 😍
See you soon
What a paradise!!!
Flowers are beautiful...please take care of yourself.
💗💗💗
Your flowers are a feast for my eyes! Might you consider ‘hiring’ your children to fold the paper bouquet wraps? They might need a template to get them folded correctly, but I think they would be happy to earn some “reward”. It would save you a bit of time per bouquet to have a stack of pre folded wraps. Keep the farm updates coming.
We had them picking strawberries yesterday and next week they have to pit cherries lol
Always look forward to my favorite flower farmers videos :)
Thanks!
Great Video ! I love your videos and the music was dope. Thanks !
Thanks, the passion I feel for putting together unique and interesting music and action sequences is a big part of the creative drive to make content
God Bless you! I don't know how you do it ? I have problems just planting a flower bed. You amaze me. 🤗
We are always tired and busy and have no social life haha, that's our secret to success
was that a jang seeder or what? Also what did you plant with it?, THANKS!!!
I really like your bouquet design .. ❤
Watching your video while making empanadas!😃😄
