@@PopcornH3 Well the original ratio for the stock transmission was about the same ratio, so this one won't change the top speed or amount of torque you should see from your model. The gear pitch being M0.8 mod, is just that. The pitch is M0.8, sometimes it looks like 32 pitch gears, which is why I called is 32 pitch. Cross actually calls it M0.8, simple.
nice quick tutorial...cheers lads...not like most youtubers who give their life story before, during and after the vid!! All i want sometimes is a simple (like this) 10min vid. 1 shot, no editing and hit upload,....except (bloody hell ol son...In All That Is Simplistic did ya miss The AM/PM Ya boof....lol..Bwhahahahahaha)..cheers for the beers!!...and the vid,.. from a m8 downunder (Queensland m8)
I cannot see why not. All motors 450 or 550 sized, brushed or brushless have the same bolt pattern for mounting. In fact we have a demo VR4 with a hobbywing 550 in it at the store.
Given the larger pitch and number of gears, yes it is louder. However given its increase in strength and durability, I'll take the noise. That does raise a question, did you replace the stock gear lube?
@@tlmnnmlt8918 I just replicated your video, holding the truck up, slowly applying throttle. Wow! Have to admit I never noticed it. Mine, with plastic housing is just as loud! Although given the age and number of hours on the motor and transmission, most of my noise seems to be motor.
Just a quick update. For those wondering the transmission has a 16.82/1 ratio, and the pitch is actually considered M0.8.
what does that mean?

@@Xoarkitty thank you for such a detailed response

So is there anyway I can mount a hobbywing axe 550 to my demon fr4

Is it lot noisier than the stock trans? I just installed the gen2 trans and it is a lot louder

@@Xoarkitty i didn't replace the gear lube since it was greasy enough when I opened up. Did I had to replace with transmission fluid?
@@Xoarkitty I have uploaded the short video of the noise on my channel. It would be helpful if you could diagnose from the video.
@@tlmnnmlt8918 No need to replace, I was just curious. For me it's thick and water resistant, both are a plus in my mind.
