Guys ! The decrease in wavelength is called hypsochromic shift not hypochromic. Please do the correction.

    I have some queries
    1. With increase in conjugation the energy of ground state of a molecule decreases,so greater energy is required to transfer an electron from HOMO-LUMO.SO how energy is decreases and weave length increases?
2.Why we consider only maximum value of wave length?
