    I think God hears us and wants us to “keep in touch” and letting Him know what our needs are too. Ultimately God uses our connection to change our world by His relationship with Him.
    Thanks Rabbi.

    Well said rabbi. But then what's the point of praying for someone ?

  • @MrBrunoGI

    Beautifully said but what about when we pray for others, are we changing our perception of those we pray for and in essence becoming advocates for others?

    We pray to change of thoughts, emotions and purify our Body. We don't change God's mind. We change our *perception* of God's Will.

    Prayer can be looked in this way: when we pray we are in a boat, and HaShem is the shore. When the anchor is thrown ashore is the shore brought to the boat, or does the boat move closer to the shore?

    I'm no rabbi, but Torah tells us that several times Moses, Abraham and MANY others have prayed with the exact intention of changing God's mind about something. So why is this rabbi telling me that prayer can't change God's mind?

    • @MrBrunoGI
      @MrBrunoGI 3 года назад +14

      Because G-d isn't a man, G-d doesn't makes mistakes, and everything that happens to us is carefully calculated for our own benefit, whether good or bad, because in reality we only see fragments of the whole picture, now what we can do if things are too painful is to do an instraspection of how we can change the conditions of our own character, because ultimately things that befall us is for us to react, when we pray like the Rabbi says we aren't asking Hashem to correct his mistake but rather help us correct ours and in doing so the remedy changes, this is when we pray for ourselves, but when we pray for others we should act as an attorney for others behalf and point out the merits and the good, all the prophets prayed on behalf of others very seldomly for themselves to the contrary they accepted what ever Hashem decreed for them because they know G-d knows best.

    Amen Rabbi! Prayer brings about a change of mind for us. A self judgment which connects us the the reality of Gods mercy. It's also crucial for our relationship with our maker...

    Prayer Is To Praise God And Stay United With Him. "The Lords Prayer". Do Not Constantly "Ask" God For Things. Prayer And Meditation Are Similar. When We Please God, W e Ask What We Can Do For Him.

    Interesting thought, here is my question, if pray is the action to renew prayer to be a "new person" so that God will treat you differently from the previous "old person", does this still mean your action of pray change God's mind which is impossible?
