Alvin Lee as a solo artist or as a member of Ten Years After is a bad ass!!

One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite guitarists, Alvin Lee. Kudos to George Harrison for the slide guitar solo, as well.

It's so funny you said that about suddenly realizing that maybe this is what you needed. I wasn't really even going to put on headphones and listen to anything right now, and then I did thinking I'll just do this one because this is one I haven't heard nearly as much, although I've definitely heard it four or five times before, and I'm pretty sure he played it when I went to see him live when I was about 18.
So now I am halfway through it and about a minute or two before you said that, I suddenly realized, you know what this is exactly what I needed right now. It just seems to work that way.

Best song Alvin Lee Ten Years After is One of These Days

That one is definitely in my top three. I love that song so much and I've actually performed it live myself, I memorized all the verses because it's actually a really hilarious story.

This is one of my all time favorite blues performances. Alvin Lee was lead guitarist and singer for the undercelebrated band Ten Years After. By the way, the slide guitar solo is by George Harrison! Check out 'I'd Love to Change the World' by Ten Years After....

That's George Harrison of the Beatles doing the first lead on slide. Alvin does the second lead and singing. This song grew on everyone. Many didn't hear it right away back then. Saw him live years ago. He was better than his recordings.

I actually love his recordings and I feel like I know most of them note for note. But I did get a chance to see him live when I was 18 with Mick from the Rolling Stones sitting in on pedal steel guitar, before having to head across town and take the stage for the Stones show. He's just so magnetic.

Well, I've also played for years. I can cover most pretty well but Alvin's style was hard for me. I can cover jeff beck and Hendrix well. Alvin was just awkward for me other than his simple stuff. I have Cricklewood Green and other of his old albums. He was in my top 4 favorite guitarists. @@stevedahlberg8680

Very "Andy Latimer style" guitar solo at the end , which means very, very good . Really great song.

Chatting with some musicians in Montgomery AL I was asked what my favourite blues song was. I said Bluest Blues and there was silence with lots of smiles and nods.

Alvin and George were best friends. Then Alvins common law wife cheated on him with George Harrison. Its interesting that George does the slide solo on this tune. Guess friends trump wives.
