I first played this as a child on my mother's oak HMV Windup Gramophone. It had louvres behind little opening doors on the front which were level with my head so I used to stand listening with my fingers resting lightly on the edge of the player to pick up the vibrations. In my late teens I bought a twelve inch double album of his complete nocturnes played by Artur Rubenstein.......Bliss. That was nearly 70 years ago and I still love to listen to Chopin. You can listen to all his works and that of other composers on Spotify or Apple for pennies a week together with loads of other good stuff.

When I was in junior high school, I had a pianist roommate in our dorm, and he would occasionally perform this piece in the classroom, which had a piano. It only makes me nostalgic for the days when I could still hear those musical pieces performed live by my roommate. I miss my Junior High days, the environment it provided, and the individuals I met there. Will probably take Nocturne Op 9 No.2 as a to-go song whenever I miss those moments. :')

Mi apreciación sobre esta pieza musical es como la vida misma.
Los primeros minutos siento como una confesión a corazón abierto suave tímido, a la vez lo mas tierno. Los minutos siguientes la melodía se torna madura, fuerte, segura y poderosa luego como una montaña rusa, las emociones con sus altibajos. Transcurre la melodía y siento frustración una promesa rota y rencor, tal vez algún reproche. La parte final es aceptación, la despedida un poco liberador y agrio a la vez.

I think this is the best piece of music ever created, so many emotions. Plus you paired it with one of my favourite paintings too! I've discovered this upload today but I'm sure I'll be listening to it every time now when I need to work on a new book or new illustrations. It's a perfect background music for me. This is obviously a very beautiful piece, but for some reason it gives me a sense of fear while listening. Never have been able to trace why but It almost sends a chill down my spine and soul. The Van Gogh is amazing could stare at it for hours, look at all the tiny details of everything. Look at the piece up close as to notice the little things and from afar to get a sense of the bigger picture and feeling being created. Legendary, it’s almost as if it moves on its own.
You are not alone, for, I do have a similar feeling. You have put it brilliantly.
