It's so weird to me that just over a decade ago, a montage of people forgetting the words to "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley was actually put on television. Thank you for bringing this to light.
Omg brings back so many memories watching this show religiously as a kid. I also love how the top 2 of this season are literally in the first 30 seconds of this video.
That Leah,Elizabeth,Dinah audition must have been EPIC to watch if they were the first female group to be highlighted for that episode. They were SO good...
17:05 Fantasia, the winner of this season forgets the words lol but I love how she committed to her ad lib unlike the people who just mumble lol I also remember that Carrie Underwood in her season forgot the words on a solo in Hollywood week and some other girl there actually comments on it and says something along the lines of "everybody here sucks, that first girl didn't even remember the words, she should be gone" lol watching it now knowing how famous Carrie is is so hilarious to me 😂
The cockiest ones are always the most insecure. That Michael Kowen dude as well, so much cringe when he kept interrupting to tell the judges not to take any of his fuckups into account lol. “Yeah but remember when I was good that one time?!”
@@davidhiltner7288 to be fair he (Michael) messed up once and got cut whereas someone like John Stevens (who I have nothing against btw) had nothing but mess ups and was always being put through.
Meleana Brown could've been a great addition to the final 32 but for some reason she messed it up in the group auditions. I wish we could get the full story of how things went down between that group.
I understand Michael Keown feeling SO confident going into the Hollywood rounds espescially after Simon's comments but he didn't bring it during Hollywood rounds.....Michael could have been a great addition to the top 32.

Can you believe Dinah Lopez came back another season and DIDN'T make it to Hollywood? She didn't get enough credit for being incredible in that group audition.
What were they thinking with the song lists for these group auditions. lol 14:20 That was some cheap musical audition stuff. There were much better songs for this show to use....

My main complaint with this show was we never got to see all the auditions. Especially during the front line/back line cut scenes....
