3:45 I would like to point out that its actually significantly more expensive to buy more months at once instead of less expensive. For the life me I cant think of a reason for it to be like this, but the players seems to defend it nonetheless.
My only idea is it’s more beneficial for you to forget you’re paying for it as it’s recurring vs if you buy one time BUT when I was looking at it my self I was so confused cause in no way does anyone do it that way 😂
I find it odd too. I'm not defending it, but the reasons I could see it being the way it is is due to potentially making the pass giftable if you buy it like that. If it is to push for people to just do the monthly sub instead, that could just come down to metrics. If someone bought 3 months, but only played for the first month they paid but didn't pick up the game after that. Sure the devs make more money off of them, but for a niche mmo like this they probably want players to sub monthly so if there is a drop-off in sub count, it's reflected asap rather than later on. Last possible reason probably is what was said above about people just leaving it on recurring and forgetting, but I personally think that's a bit too cynical but it wouldn't be the first or last time that sort of tactic was used.
Really enjoying the game. And the QoL updates have just kept coming. For anybody struggling gathering stuff, too, you really want to grind out 32 carpentry and further the Spider's Nest quest in the 2nd zone. It opens up a way to store all storeable materials in multiple locations across all zones. It's really worth the grind.
I've already completed the main story, and leveled up all professions to 20+ in the time that people are still grinding carepntry. That's a good way to get burnt out.
@godmodes Different strokes for different folks, lad. I found grinding for a QoL feature fun, so I did it. And I'm certainly not burnt out after it. If somebody is feeling strain from a specific activity, then they can try something else or even take a break from the game.
For the UI, you can resize the different sections. For the left side, I have mine dragged out to be a bit wider, and have resized the map so it's about 3/4 of the height and the inventory displays 3 rows of 8. This is extra nice with the "click to move" functionality added to the map today! Extra details: Hovering over the inside edge of the panels (e.g. right side of left panel) then clicking/dragging will let you make them wider, then the breakpoint between the sections (e.g. backpack/map) will let you rescale the sections vertically.
@zal4630 Unfortunately, I don't think osrs will never have bots. It's just expected now. However, they are pretty consistent with the bot busting. There are still plenty of real players in the game, but yes, there are bots.
What's up with all the RuneScape boys coming to hate on brighter shores, if you don't like it don't come watch these videos. If ur scared in your life that people will leave your favorite game for this game you have a serious problem to take care of.
I'm currently f2p, with a total level of 248, and I'm enjoying it a lot. 1-20 is basically an extended tutorial, but after that every level of 21-200 takes about the same time to grind, with 201-500 being the endgame grind. Main premium feature I'm feeling the absense of is weaponcrafting (episode 3 skills), since you pretty much need purple or gold rarity weapons for smooth combat grinding, and you're purely at the mercy of RNG. At least with the capability to craft weapons, you can more or less force a gold rarity weapon without too much headache.
I'm ex-wow player (from vanilla to dragonflight) ... this is great - Day 3 now, and I just want to play. I'm just grinding my skills because I'm looking forward to the next level up! IKR - it's fun!
ok, just had an idea. 20 accounts that "storm the gates" and 1 of them is active while the others are passive so it feels like a war game during quests. Probably would rather do 1 active & 3-5 passive for quests.
This game will certainly not be for everyone, but im really enjoying the grind so far. I've progressed to Episode 2 in the story, but so far im mainly just interested in levelling my Episode 1 skills
I think their game design intentions will make sense in a few months. Shame it doesnt really gel with everyone now, but thats the cost of early acess i guess. I like the game so far :)
Im actually enjoying this game, yah it has some flaws but its still in early access and lots of things going to improve and change, they already fixed some things.
for any one saying 32 carp takes ages u just do other stills till u got like 150 silver and spam buy make sell carp to 32 use all knowledge points on it takes like 3 hours if tht from 20 ofc
@epmcgee I got so good at skipping dialog in runescape I can't bare to play this game. lol, and your locked into little squared locations until you listen to every word cuz theres no walkthroughs out yet. hahaha
bro as a osrs vet. brighter shores SUCKS. i am actually mind blown at the fact that they think this is fun although i will admit the theory of how the game prolongs its life sounds very promising and game integrity seemed to be pretty solid during my 12 hours playing

You talk about Oldschool RuneScape in the past sense, but it's still going and it's more popular than ever.
i heard theres a lot of bots, is it true?

So happy to see a fellow RuneScape veteran loving brighter shores!
They added minimap click to move today also 😊 and im also enjoying it sofar and itgets super complex the further u get
loving this game!!! great vid
the minimap was updated to... before you published this lol
Man thats so cool that they gave this game, old school rune scape music. I for sure gotta try it, that soundtrack is epic.
I think the passive xp is best for when you want to hop on your second or third character

The game is beautiful. I fully agree
Im worried about professions becoming redundant after realizing we are being locked to certain armour types after choosing a faction.
