Id like to say im scared of going to church because im scared of being manipulated into believing something or following someone due to my lack of biblical knowledge and understanding. I grew up watch joel olestien and believed he knew what he was talking about then later saw how big his house was saw how he treated people and stuff like that. To be honest I love watching you guys because i agree most with the points you bring up and how you discuss my religion. I know I cant just watch videos and say that its going to church but my question is how do I find a curch that teaches the right stuff.
You will never and should not attempt to find your God in any building or based on a group of people. Find your God in your heart first. Once you establish a relationship, then go on to find a church.

Praise God, just like when we make a purchase, whether it's small like groceries, or big like a home or vehicle. We get a receipt, or title/deed. Same way with us putting our trust and faith in Christ, God the Father, seals us with God the Holy Spirit Who will remain for the rest of our lives, and then throughout eternity. I believe Jesus, God the Son, gave us, (who would like trust Him) a challenge or dare, if we will. In John 7:17, if anyone willingly seeks to know if His teachings are from the Father, they will find out. How? after we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and reading the Holy Bible, that seal will begin to radiate and until the day we die, we will experience jaw dropping moments and will praise God ever more. Yeah after a over 20 yr marriage it broke down with addictions and never survived. Had to forgive even I was not at fault but I healed nicely. Unfortunately the mate was not able to forgive me but we are Divorced now and we are very civil toward each other.
Faith is supposedly "the substance of things hoped for AND the evidence of things unseen." Hope does not depend on anything concrete. It is essentially a subcategory of preference. "I want this to happen" or "I want this to be true." What kind of evidence is unseen?

Ironically, contrasting with what you said, this makes God completely just. Everyone has sinned, everyone deserves punishment. But God fulfilled his own law by paying the penalty of our sin by taking our place in death through his death on the cross. This is a gift he offers to everyone. However, like any gift, you can choose to reject it. You can choose to reject the payment he made on your behalf. You can choose to reject him. By doing so though, you also reject his payment for your sins and the only one left to pay for your sins at that point...is yourself.

Contrary to what Stuart says, atheism says nothing about pain, anxiety, depression, divorce, death etc. Atheism is concerned with the question as to whether God exists or not. That's it. i hope you guys head out there with some form of security (in simple terms: a bodyguard of some sort) because I've seen some pretty violent responses to "street preaching" (for lack of a better term) I would imagine you guys have experienced that at least once. But it only takes one time for someone to overstep boundaries to physically attack someone they don't like or that they feel persecuted by, and then death becomes a real possibility. I know that "to die is gain" but there's also common sense God gives you, he doesn't want you to get attacked or murdered, so taking simple precautions can mitigate that danger

The Bible is not just a book
It is a revelatory book, meaning you need to understand it
Today, something I learnt from Stuart really made sense to me

Id like to say im scared of going to church because im scared of being manipulated into believing something or following someone due to my lack of biblical knowledge and understanding. I grew up watch joel olestien and believed he knew what he was talking about then later saw how big his house was saw how he treated people and stuff like that. To be honest I love watching you guys because i agree most with the points you bring up and how you discuss my religion. I know I cant just watch videos and say that its going to church but my question is how do I find a curch that teaches the right stuff.
You will never and should not attempt to find your God in any building or based on a group of people. Find your God in your heart first. Once you establish a relationship, then go on to find a church.

Praise God, just like when we make a purchase, whether it's small like groceries, or big like a home or vehicle. We get a receipt, or title/deed. Same way with us putting our trust and faith in Christ, God the Father, seals us with God the Holy Spirit Who will remain for the rest of our lives, and then throughout eternity. I believe Jesus, God the Son, gave us, (who would like trust Him) a challenge or dare, if we will. In John 7:17, if anyone willingly seeks to know if His teachings are from the Father, they will find out. How? after we are sealed with the Holy Spirit and reading the Holy Bible, that seal will begin to radiate and until the day we die, we will experience jaw dropping moments and will praise God ever more. Ironically, contrasting with what you said, this makes God completely just. Everyone has sinned, everyone deserves punishment. But God fulfilled his own law by paying the penalty of our sin by taking our place in death through his death on the cross.
This is a gift he offers to everyone. However, like any gift, you can choose to reject it. You can choose to reject the payment he made on your behalf. You can choose to reject him. By doing so though, you also reject his payment for your sins and the only one left to pay for your sins at that point...is yourself.

Contrary to what Stuart says, atheism says nothing about pain, anxiety, depression, divorce, death etc. Atheism is concerned with the question as to whether God exists or not. That's it. My views about pain, anxiety, divorce etc etc are personal to me, another atheist may well have totally different views, those are separate issues.
I think what he means is basically following the atheist line of thinking of how it would tackle those issues

i hope you guys head out there with some form of security (in simple terms: a bodyguard of some sort) because I've seen some pretty violent responses to "street preaching" (for lack of a better term)
I would imagine you guys have experienced that at least once. But it only takes one time for someone to overstep boundaries to physically attack someone they don't like or that they feel persecuted by, and then death becomes a real possibility. I know that "to die is gain" but there's also common sense God gives you, he doesn't want you to get attacked or murdered, so taking simple precautions can mitigate that danger
