- Todays episode we gather up all the outdoor all season speakers I can find, They were used for years around pools & hot tubs and are now suffering from chemical damages, Lets crank them up and see some smoke!

Hey in obx in a store their are things called octosuround wich is octagon speaker with a 8 inch woofer on the bottom and 8 horn tweeters 1 on each side
I had ones that's called acoustic solutions they where white pretty much the same as those my friend got 50 from school that was throwing out speakers for new ones ha so I can easily get another pair if want more 😆
It's amazing how much support he shows to his older videos in his intro. Most youtubers now-a-days that still create content after many years don't bother with what they did in the past, or delete their previous content. Garret Claridge goes all the way and I love that!

Hi Garret, those Pcbs in the Push Up Speakers are Protection Circuits. The yellow Drops are Polyfuses an normally shortet over the resistors. In Overload State they got hot an opens and the resistors get in series to the speakers. These resistors are lower the power in the speakers and getting warm. In a few Minutes after reducing the volume this Polyfuses switched back and the speakers are in normal mode. Greetings from Germany and have an great Christmas time.
I remember that type of timer being used in my school. Mostly used in gym class or for me it was used to track a 1 hour punishment for yawning.

I had those same small speakers that you just throw out when they go out. They lasted me 14 years. Even after the snow, rain, etc. they were completely fine. They went out after I took them down and blew them up with my car amp. I did get new ones though

wow the ones in good condition sounded really good for the size they would probably do good on a small 5.1 system with a 6.5 inch sub
Check out the little Visio 5.1 surround bar from Walmart (Under $200). They are amazing. I believe it has a DSP subwoofer in the unit; it has very low frequency extension and sound quality is tops for the price. Perfect for a room and will give full sound.
@@gavincurtis I prefer my pair Yamaha HS7. I don't listen to loud music. I like accurate reproduction of sound.

It does sound quite accurate and articulate for such a budget system. I have a high end headphone and tube headphone amp along with a tri amped line array speaker system. My ears are getting to know good from bad sound. ;)
The little $180 Viso 5.1 made my jaw drop when playing a movie in our guest bedroom I just installed the system in. It has a properly tuned DSP subwoofer. Clean, articulate natural sound from the speakers themselves. Absolutely natural sound, no hollow boxy sound. No boomy bass, nice solid bottom end from a little 5.5" driver. Going to get a 2nd system for another room. I like it that much.
I think you would be impressed. It may even sound better than my Sony X99, just not as portable.

@@randomweirdyoutubechannel8955 I despised sound bars too. A cheap compromise to the real deal. Your Denon gear is not fair competition to a sound bar :)
But.... under $200 to make a 5.1 room.. A VERY GOOD ONE at that. This is a medium volume wide bandwidth natural sounding system that wins for sound quality, cost and compactness. If you heard it, you would agree. Wouldn't make you dispose of your Denon by any means and won't tickle your insides from the power. But it will make you rethink how you would approach a small, affordable room theater with sound quality that even your above average audio standards could sit through. Room size being a 12 by 18 ft room or so in my installation. DSP subwoofer included with the setup. You don't get a DSP subwoofer alone anywhere for that price.

Speco makes good stuff. I have 2 of their projection horns for an outdoor siren, I run them at maximum wattage and frequencies they’re not rated for and have them outside in all weather. They haven’t failed yet, and are audible at over 1000 feet. Also where’d you get the reverse beeper (like where is it located on a truck)? I’ve made a reverse beeper for my car for my own entertainment but it doesn’t sound quite right so I’m thinking I’ll go to the local scrapyard and pull one off a truck.
I was thinking about Garret the other day, as I saw both a Dresden Acoustics white van speaker garbage, and a Sylvania DJ Speaker crap thing, both on a Ottawa for sale FB group, lol ( horrible electronic cancer these products lol) edit, 6:52 Amityville Horror Speakers, that will give you a case of HSP "Haunted Speaker Phenomenon" lol

well the six acoustic labs did survive my drinking days, they were running year round even coated in ice for the winter, the ones i blew up were in no way covered and in direct sun and whether the whole time without grills, grills all turned brown after a summer tossed them out haha

Do something with the speco technologies they are well made and the ones that you had were from around 2001 hard to kill speco technologies makes speaker horns but mostly secureity cameras nice cabinets mag I recommend some 6.5 inch boat speakers for it would work ok with those cabinets

in the south we call them Dirt Daubers, There very harmless, despite still being a wasp. You could literally grab and hold them and they wont hurt you, but i dont advise that lol. They make some huuuuge nests on walls if you let them

I'm quite familiar with the speco ones. We use those at the camp I work at, in main camp's dining hall. They sound really nice when paired with a crown brand amp. I've gotten them to play as low as at least 50hz. They sound really good with both music and as a PA. Also we don't have a woofer with them. They are loud enough to be heard outside the dining hall.

@@GarretClaridgeMeerkat what model were they ? They looked to be in reasonably good condition other than the surrounds. Also, is it really true that you can destroy a speaker by underpowering it?
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkat on an unrelated note, I just got my first powered subwoofer. And also killed two hdmi ports on my receiver due to a poor quality hdmi cable.
Additionally for one of your next vids, see if you can get an altec lansing Sonic boom 2. Its quite boomy and a has a nice looking driver but it's poorly built (the driver) one bump on the cone in a certain direction breaks off the coil from the cone..I still have mine.
@@julerobb1 no. you cannot damage a speaker by "under powering" it, as there is no such thing. all speakers are tested with 1 watt of power. i also very highly doubt those speaco's can hit 50hz in an audible range. too light a cone, too small a cone, too small a box, and not enough power. quite simply, the laws of physics do not allow that speaker to go that low.

Well I got your video in my sub box without even having the bell enabled. The solution is to disable and completely clear the viewing history!
You should have a look at Martin audio they make these quite large speaker boxes like for bowling alleys that type of thing and they produce some sweet clean sound and can be quite loud with little to no distortion
