  • Though we most often build a 351C into a 396 or 408 Stroker for our Mad Max Pursuit Special / Interceptor builds, we will do just about anything the client wants. In this case it is a "Better than stock" 351C with an AOD Automatic Transmission. Watch as the craftsmen at Mad Max Cars fire up the engine for the first time off the run in stand and in a partially assembled Australian Ford Falcon Mad Max Pursuit Special / Interceptor replica. In this short video, the engine gets a "Surrogate run" for a short time on "Life Support" with open headers before it is even fully plumbed in or wired up. Enjoy.

      Satin Black. It is indeed what we normally do, as that is what most people want. However we will do whatever the client wants. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

    When I get mine rolling I'm going to throw a MPFI system on it because I'm super lazy and don't want to deal with a carburetor.

    • @MadMaxCars
      @MadMaxCars  5 лет назад +2

      Very cool idea. I'm not so certain that a MPFI would be the "Lazy" choice, but still super cool. Just make sure to plan ahead so that your chosen system does not interfere with the blower setup installation. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

    I watched episode 1, what happened to the build? Or is this another one?

    • @MadMaxCars
      @MadMaxCars  5 лет назад +2

      I am assuming you mean the "
      Mad Max Interceptor Pursuit Special Build" series we are doing. We are currently doing the metal work and rust repair on the body, and putting together EP2 in that series. Metal work is a time consuming process to do correctly, especially when you have panels to hand fabricate, so it will be a while before EP2 is ready. The engine run video here is a totally different car., and is a closer to stock 351C engine build. The build series car is slated to have a 351C built into a 396 stroker. I hope that helps clarify. Thanks for watching and for your comment!

    I didn't know that a GM HEI distributor can be fitted into a 351 Ford Cleveland.

    • @MadMaxCars
      @MadMaxCars  Год назад +1

      They do make HEI distributors that fit Fords, which I get is kind of surprising. Though we generally use MSD systems, which this engine eventually got as well. The video here is just a first test run after the break in run on an engine stand.

    How much is this set up without A/C? Could this work on a 73 mustang with a 351W & 4 spd top loader?

    • @MadMaxCars
      @MadMaxCars  5 лет назад +2

      This system would definitely work on a 73 Mustang regardless of Transmission, however it is designed to fit the 351C engine. We absolutely can custom build a system to work with the 351W engine if you wanted us to. As far as pricing and other details goes, please feel free to contact the team at www.madmaxcars.com Thanks for watching and for your comment!

    that's the first start. No break in time on a camshaft no nothing just fired up Rev it a few times and let it idle for that galled the cam lobes I'd like to see what the bearings look like what these folks got no business building and starting Motors

    • @MadMaxCars
      @MadMaxCars  5 лет назад +3

      Its the first run "in the car". We gave it a full break in run on the engine stand before ever installing it like any sensible builder would. If you read the description under the video you would see it clearly says that. In any case, thanks for watching and for your comment.
