    I like the first dealer, Asher -- his 75/25 ratio, his warning against graded modern bullion, and his comment about the "logistics of silver" were well thought out. Robert likes silver, but his customers buy gold -- and silver dimes -- at a rate that he cannot keep in stock, and he himself likes his gold Double Eagles. Bridger thinks 1 oz. gold is a stable investment, but silver is undervalued, and his customers buy both; he follows the military-industrial markets as well as the monetary value of gold and silver as a backer for fiat currency, and his comments on platinum and palladium were thought-provoking.

      The other aspect is that a non-graded ASE is being sold for $37.65 each, (paypal/cc), and a 2024 NGC MS-69 is being sold for $42.10 each, (paypal/cc), by the Big Box Bullion people. The graded is only $4.45 more, and it would cost us $30 to get any coin graded. I have some graded ones due to that reason. I do have one Graded Proof ASE...and frankly, it is the most beautiful coin I have ever purchased...which is too much that I have purchased in silver, due to the "Logistics" reason mentioned. I had to evacuate my home for a fire reason one time, (missed us), and It was too many trips for the silver...it shocked me how heavy the stuff was...LOL!

    Gold will quite possibly rise to $5000 per ounce (or more) in 10 years after which there should be a much greater interest to acquire Platinum, Palladium & Silver. These metals will rise in value & become more attractive after Gold becomes increasingly unaffordable for much of the population. Historically Gold has always been a very expensive metal which the masses could not afford. So this trend is likely to accelerate & history will repeat itself when Gold was out of reach for most people 100 years ago.

    • @daviniarobbins9298
      @daviniarobbins9298 2 месяца назад +1

      An ounce of gold historically has always been 1 to 2 month's full time average wages. If it hits $5000 in the next ten years then inflation will have to double in about the same time otherwise as you say gold will be unaffordable for most people. Unless there is a major correction downwards in the markets.

    • @ArneHiga
      @ArneHiga 2 месяца назад

      @@daviniarobbins9298 I think it used to take a lot longer than that to buy an ounce of gold. My Grandad wrote in his diary he made 16 cents an hour and made $10-11 per week in the year 1916. Gold back then was $20 per ounce. So given that he had to pay rent food utilities & miscellaneous might have taken him 6 months or more? Maybe a year?! Not many people could afford to buy gold in large quantities like they do today or hang onto that kind of money for very long. Maybe it was usu found in someone's jewelry or watch. Grandad had this gold watch that he passed down to the family. That was the only thing made out of gold that he ever owned. Silver was common tho & even 60 years ago+ people used to stack silver I suspect against hard times. I suppose that was the savings of many before retirement plans. So theyd stack it & spend it when needed.

That was about 1/2 oz of gold for 1 week worth of wages. $1250 in today's money. Back then gold was $20/oz. However it's doubtful that he could have afforded a gold coin given other expenses like rent & food. It would have taken him several months of savings to buy a gold coin. But as far as I know other than a small watch he never owned gold which was primarily the domain of the wealthy back then. Most people were rather poor tho

    One of the great buy signals for Pt used to be when it dipped below the value of Au. As you say, Seeker, it's been that way for several years now with no real changes in
    value for either Pt or Pd. They are, indeed, much more rare than Au, so one would think that their prices would be much higher than gold. Perhaps it is just central
    bank demand that is boosting gold prices these days?
    I do disagree a little with one of the shop owners who said that it's too hard to barter with gold. Actually, it's not that hard. Gold is a soft metal, so it's quite easy to
    shave of a few tenths of a gram for small purchases. One way to do that is to use a small drill to create gold turnings that can be weighed and used for barter. It's
    a bit less convenient than using 90% silver dimes or quarters but it is workable.

      You really should not store industrial metals but trade paper instead.
      That includes copper, platinum and silver with its ridiculous premiums..

    There are virtues and vices with both silver and gold. I think they are both equally good to stack. On my income I have to lean very heavily on silver. I think it is good thing to have a little gold if you can afford it.

    Gold and silver is the way to go. The spread on constitutional silver is terrible. I like silver Maples, silver Krugerrands (my favorite) and 5oz silver bars. I buy for investment purposes, for wealth preservation and retirement to cash in. . And I like only gold Krugerrands, recognized by the entire world (except the United States...they don't know enough to recognize anything).

      In 1956, the price of a loaf of bread in the United States averaged around 18 cents. At the same time, the price of 1 ounce of silver was approximately 91 cents.
      Comparison:
      - **Bread:** 18 cents per loaf

      How so is collecting certified slab ASEs a bad investment and I too collect slab Morgans so is this a bad investment as well??. So what is your point that you have to ask another person about collecting ASEs and Morgans that seems to lean towards stacking generic rounds, bars and raw 90%ers instead of slabs and if so is seldom ever is mentioned. Haven’t you noticed that twelve years ago very few dealers stocked slab coins and today most have many to choose from versus collectible coins other than raw sovereign bullion coins.
