i would use velcro to hold the shin guards on... and perhaps nylon handles to the tent holders for easy transport. i like the ideas of filling with dirt or rocks at the campsite too...!
I got a great idea for the kitchen, you can make a hanging plastic wrap, aluminum foil, wax paper holder out of pvc mine works great and the woman loves it.
first a question, if you fill the tent weights with cement why would you need a bottom cap? If you glue the bottom cap on and add screws to hold the top cap you can transport the tubes easier, fill them at e camp site with sand, docks or even wanted and attach the cap. the child safe numchuks are a lot like my float, I'm fairly large but a full pool noodle will support me but it doesn't work well to lay back against, I used 3 pieces of pvc, one as wide as my shoulders and 2 about 18" covered them with the float material and tied them together, they let me float like I'm sitting in a chair. For the bed tent we took 2 full lengths of 1/2" pvc, cut them in half and glued in a t for a cross bar then just shoved the pipes in between the mattress and head/foot boards, some rope holds them to the frame. I make temporary outdoor shelters the same way only with 3/4" , slip the pipes over rebar driven in the ground throw on a tarp and secure with 1" sections of 3/4" pvc with a cut down one "side" drill 2 holes for dowels to open the "clamp" or just remove about a third of the circumference and snap on
less bulky but still padded nunchucks can be made the same way, but using pipe insulation. we did this in the 80s when the karate/ninja thing was at it's height in popularity to practice so we could be "cool" kung fu / ninja warriors. :)
You really get the noodle working! We were just thinking how much people spend on sun shades. The tent over the bed gave us the to make one using that same concept. Great ideas! Thanks! Jen
I wonder if it's strong enough to use as a tarp shelter. It would in dry weather, but how would it hold up in snow? You are brilliant, and cute as a button. Your kid is adorable.
Being a square-foot gardener (and a bit too fussy about proper spacing) I made a pair of planting guides that I can lay into the raised bed garden box and get the spacing perfect. Photo here: dougbittinger.com/thoughts/wp-content/uploads/Garden-Planting-Guides.jpg The four-square guide can be used with plants that are spaced 4 per square foot or 16 per square foot. The 9 square guide handles 9 and 1 plants per square foot. I made these out of scrap pipe and spare fittings (from buying them in contractor boxes to get my best price) and I didn't use glue so I can just pull them apart if I need the fittings for something more important. Naturally, each guide is 12" square. Excuse me now: I need to go it and make some string trimmer accessory hangers. Great idea!
Do a Christmas episode, pvc stands to strand Christmas lights to make a tree, a y connection and long pcv pipe makes it easy to hang light high up in the tree
Great ideas! Can you figure out how to make an extra drill handle for heavy duty drilling like masonry?! I think regular pipe insulators would work better than pool noodles for nunchucks, less bulky!
I just discovered your page, love it, was wondering if u could show how to make a walking dog leash stake. I've seen them at disc golf courses and don't know how to make my own. The dog has a regular length leash but in the end has a in ground stake to be staked into ground while the golfer throws his disc, then when they move to next "hole" they unstake their dog from the ground and stake, I think it's a tent stake, goes in a small pvc pipe and they place a round cap on the end enclosing stake so the dog can pull it behind them, without it getting snagged on the ground, as they walk. Any ideas how to do this?
+Specific Love Creations thank you, I wasn't sure how to describe it lol but I have only seen this a couple times and didn't even know where to begin to make one, the only thing I know is there is a hole in a top cap that the stake goes in the pvc pipe while the leash stays out and attaches to dogs collar, and the stake pulls back into the pipe and they put a cap so u don't see the stake at all, just a capsule pipe and then the dog leash attached to dogs collar, but I don't know what fittings I need for it to work. If u find a way I would love to see it in one of your videos. Thank you again. :)

Your tent holddown can also be made by filling them with water so you don't have to carry the concrete around with you. You may have to glue the bottom and pin the top.
The tent weights are bit overdone... Keep the tube hollow and, if feasible, just fill it with water (sand, rocks, ect) before hanging. When the tent comes down, dump the weight. Makes them *so* much easier to lug around.
Love the videos! But I need some help from anyone. I want to make a bicycle hangar out of pvc. I have seen them online but you can only buy it. It looks like it is made out of 4-5" drain pipe with a cap and then a slot for the bike top tube to slide in. If anyone has made something like this could give me som directions?
Im only just watching this now. In 2017! Haha. Anyways, you should totally get some like 6 inch, (or whatever the biggest is size is), and mount them to the bottom of a large wood board. You could make a raft out of this. Then if you wanted to you could add a pvc mast. :)
once again, great video and really cool ideas!! I thought of a way to make diving sticks from pvc, diving sticks are a pool toy that you throw in your pool and they sink to the bottom and you can see who can get the most ect. now all you have to do is get half inch pvc and fill it half way with water or sand (so when it sinks it stays erect on the floor of your pool) and glue two end caps on both sides. I have never tried this so you would probaly have to experiment with it to see if they stand erect under water. And thank you soooo much for including my idea in your video you have made my day☺☺
+Specific Love Creations I was swimming today and thought of a few more hacks with pvc, the first one is a snorkle you could even make it longer than the ones you buy at the store, and the second one, I got the idea when I was walking in Walmart and I saw these water sprayers, and to give you a better idea, they basicly function just like a giant syringe that kids can use to spray water and I think you could think of someway to make one out of pvc. at first I was like naw that would be kind of hard to figure out how to make one, and then I was like well this is the same guy who made that gattling rubberband gun out of pvc I think he can think of something. Sorry if my desription of the second idea was not great, just google water squirter and you will see pictures of them. thanks again for everything, your the best.☺
I thought about doing a water squirter, but after looking into what it will take to make one, it is much cheaper and easier to just buy a cheap store version. Keeping thinking, that was a good idea.
Hey Specific Love (don't know your actual name sorry), I was going to recommend that you even go as far as using plastic buckle straps for your shin guards just for the sake of convenience, cool idea nonetheless
+Colby Tart I only have the fishing pole holder as of yet with pvc, but if you put your cell phone or other touch screen items in a ziplock bag, the touchscreen will still work and you will keep the sand out.
oN #8 You made the fort for kids. I made something like it but I made the headboard and footboards triangles and had the long pole going from head to toe but it's still the same concept. I did add additions to your idea. I had 45 degree angles on the base of each corner so legs can be added and to make it even stronger I added T's rite under the 45's so a cross bar could keep the 45's from stretching and getting out of shape. The funny thing is that I use it in the winter time with a strong quilt over it and a 4" thick flexible dryer hose coming in from a plug in heater so I don't have to spend money trying to heat up the house when it's just two of us. I just heat up our little tent. and in the summer It gets switched and goes outside where it's used as a greenhouse with longer "extension" on the legs and a cover made from clear *shower curtains and packing tape. I keep the greenhouse additions in the closet and out of the way when I don't need them but when I take those things out of the space I keep them, I replace the winter parts in its place. It's the same cubic space used for either one. If I find it I'm going to be adding a small 4" fan and keep the drier pipe on so I can cool down the greenhouse when it gets too hot. When summer is over you just need a hose and a brush and then you leave to dry before taking it down and switching back to winter mode. * If you're thinking that the cover won't last... I'm in the middle of summer # 5 and other then looking a little cloudy in some spots it's still going
if you add concrete to the canpoy weights there to heavy to carry around. we do big shows and use the same idea but empty we fill them when we get to our spot either with dirty around us or water this way you empty and carry back to the car and its free to fill and dump.
Are you a seller of pvc? You have used a lot of it. Do you have those corner 90 degrees 3 -way joints that looks like the 3 axis of the 3 dimensions x, y, z axis?
sorry if this was mentioned. On the shin guards, instead of tying it on, use a key and a carabineer, it other small clip/hook and you have a clip on buckle.
when are you gonna build a 90 ft yacht out of pvc, Jk. but I definitely know a stick of some 6 inch with a couple end caps can make a mean pontoon, also a stick of 4 inch with survival gear inside capped at each end can double as a floatation device Incase of tsunamis and what not.
Pipe insulation might be a little less bulky than the pool noodle for your (gonna butcher the spelling :) ) nun-chucks. Just a thought...I'm not SURE it's less bulky, btw, but it might be

The drill holder could be used in the bathroom as a hair dryer holder too

+Tom Cote (The Food Snot) Thank you. I still have a few more to do in this series.
I'm binge watching. Some wonderful ideas.

AWESOME shin guards there! Use Velcro for the fasteners with those shin guards...quicker for on/off.
Good idea
my old Ryobi multi tool came with plastic hanging deal similar to the pvc hanger. works great.
Lol. You seem like a great dad! And creative too! Love those hacks man.
+NoBullFitness Thank you, that means a lot.
#6 is awesome. I'm going to try it for my gazebo on me patio instead of bolting it into the cement.
You have good ideals ,thank you😀👍🏻👍🏻
Great Ideas!
I would Love some more idea's for the pool/patio area. Wind is a big problem.
I liked that last one the best
Love the shin guards
I ALWAYS enjoy your videos! Thanks so much for your efforts, they are deeply appreciated. You're good at this!
+Patrick PhippsPA Thank you very much, that means a lot.

+agold2125 In #23 I shared a pic of a viewer who did this
Nice hacks. You could use velcro tape instead of strings to attach PVC to you legs

I have made a gate to keep dogs out of area, a door jam brace/stop, and a recycle can to hold my plastic bag.
Useful 👍🏻

#1 shin guard,..........use velcro glued to the front of the shinguard then wrap around the leg and snug it up.
I love your vids
