I think it's about the US perception of India rather than India's actual position.
The US looks upon India as an alternative to Pakistan. Like an outpost to the south and south east Asia. And a base against China.
this is what i was continuously commenting in ur program Chema sir. .. India’s growth is all about education system.. skilled workforce in large numbers.. that’s the reason companies are shifting towards india..
and it comes bcz of willingness of Indians in general to get proper education..
just in my city bangalore we have more than 100 engineering colleges..
not just IT industry but also other engineering industry is booming..

This comparison with India must stop. It’s a no contest. Last few weeks I have been travelling extensively by road in two southern states of Karnataka and Tamilnadu which together have a 130 million people.
The road network is excellent reaching into deepest and interior areas. Along with that comes public transport, railway network, airports and visible evidence of economic activity. Education institutes like graduate colleges forArts, commerce & Science, Engineering, medicine, law, polytechnicsfor vocational training, computer training institutes…..it’s truly incredible!
Agriculture activity is buzzing, local manufacturing is buzzing based on local speciality ( textiles, garment units, light and medium engineering, food processing….). Roads are flush with trucks moving goods across the country.
Kids going to schools and colleges. Law and order good. Poverty levels visibly decreasing rapidly. Branded retail stores even in small towns, new branded vehicles in small towns all point to a throbbing economic activity.
By the way, when SAARC was active, was South Asia relevant in International stage ? I don't think so (its my opinion). 5-10yrs ago when SAARC was active, Pakistan used to torpedo every meeting by including Kashmir eventually leading to end of SAARC when every member was fed up by Pakistan's propaganda was overshadowing the interest of other countries.
South Asia is indeed relevant. The reason why Pakistanis are burning in jealousy and hatred because they are not relevant and nobody is including them in anything. Pakistanis are trying to hide their own irrelevance under skirts of South Asia. Pakistani Army's media wing works very closely with Indian Congress-communist-Jihadi networks to coin phrases that goes against hindus and India.
