A word of warning: Ultra darts do tend to decapitate at 3S velocities and also when they hit hard surfaces. Pretty pricey for not being all that sturdy.

If nerf can’t make it feed with the offending jam tooth, they shouldn’t release. No one should have to mod a blaster just to get dependable feeding.
Nice mod guide. Extra tip for people who don't have those handy hands: a blob of blu-tac holds stuff really nicely for soldering
This is a pretty good tutorial..especially for someone like me who has been interested in modding flywheel blasters..but 1) I don't know the first thing about soldering 2) I don't actually own any of the equipment for it and 3) I'm downright scared of screwing up and junking a blaster I paid good money for. Especially since the blaster I wanna mod the most is my Star Wars Erso blaster..I love the looks of the thing but lordy was it expensive since I got the blue one..the Andor blaster that came with the attachments since I REALLY wanted that full set up..I got it when it was brand new so that's 70+ bucks right there.

You gotta mod this for elites or half lengths, Ultras are being decapitated left and right with 3s's
ya know what i really appreciate about this, its a revolver, it looks nice!, but the fact that the cylinder is in the rear unlike the hammershot or other revolvers of the same style, meaning 1. its reload speed can be increased, 2. if it matters to the user, its a lot more realistic and in a way similar to how certain real steel firearms function.
This blaster would be prefect for a mcree cosplay

Awesome video Brad. Question was those chronograph numbers from before or after you found the flywheel melting that cage cover. Also maybe put a piece of PVC in side to help guide the darts, I think that would really help with the accuracy
now what would be real hot is replacing that gaudy, chip-prone gold with a nice piece of frosted/sanded acrylic and a small LED package

Especially at higher velocities. I’m doing a video on some homemade ultra darts that will hopefully perform better.
Calling that a flight pattern is kind of insulting to birds, bugs, bats, planes, helicopters, and anything else that can fly in any sort of a straight line.

Sir I would like to make a couple engineering points to you and honestly I would like to see you make another gun like this but with my ideas Incorporated and test them side-by-side. If I'm right you will see a difference. I believe removing a circuit board in these mods is a fatal flaw because I believe the circuit board provides vital stiffening to the motor structure. And having just disassembled my ultra 2 for modding myself, I can tell you that this flywheel assembly is none too stiff as it is. Frankly I'm looking at ways to stiffen it before I reassemble it. I believe the removal of the circuit board is what cause your original alignment problem which caused them to start rubbing on the housing. I believe we're moving material only exasperates the fact that this housing is not stiff enough to maintain alignment with the mass and RPM level of these darts and flywheels has everything moves together. Using a digital caliper I am able to measure several thousandths of deflection between having a dart inserted and not. and this is at rest and with the circuit board in place.
It is my belief that maintaining the circuit board but removing all of the electronics is the key, as well as adding a little bit of additional stiffening to the outside cage half by bridging that gap. I feel alignment would be more consistent and it should destroy fewer darts. From an engineering standpoint I know it's Distortion that kills speakers, power spikes that kill Electronics, detonation that kills engines, and vibration/deflection that kills things like this. I would like to see gun modded like this put against yours directly and see what the difference in shootability is.

Great vid! I am trying to improve accuracy without too much work ... do you know if someone is selling barrel inserts for the Nerf Ultra 2? I tried making a smoother barrel lining using rolled up cellophane ... and it works great, until the cellophane starts losing its tight curl. I saw Elite mods for Ultra 2 have a reduced caliber barrel liner - can I get one that is just big enough for actual Ultra darts?

so the wheels are concave. If they were replaced with flat wheels with the same outer diameter, do you think it would tighten the gap enough to work for elites? I was thinking of getting one, doing that, and sleeve-ing the chambers with something to make it use darts that are worth using.
Does the chip that you take out ensure that the same voltage is applied to each motor? I feel like removing the chip and wiring the motors one after another on the same wire means that a lower voltage is applied to the last motor. I don't know if it's a big deal, but it would be cool to figure out how that chip works so that maybe you could make another chip that could handle the higher voltage coming out of the lipo.
I'm wondering how well a MagnusGrip will suit it, proportionally.

Just one quick question. What voltage is the battery and can the stock motors handle it? Can I match the same battery with a stryfe , hyperfire, rapidstrike ? Thank you

I think they are 380 motors the same one's used in rival.
@@BornArcher8 That's what I was and when I seen the 1st video of the review of the blast there looking through the jam door it looked like rival fly wheels as well.
@@andyfoammaster2286 I think we are wrong as in the foam blast video Andrianna was telling they are new motors. They are apparently much smaller than 380's.
Maybe 280 or 230 size?
Once again, good video. The real question still remains... Should anyone even buy this thing? I'll wait to pass final judgement until I have tested one myself, but suffice to say it isn't looking good.

Only if they don’t have an issue with Ultra ammo. Which is asking a lot, I think it’ll be more liked by the modding crowd than the general public for better or worse.
@@AmericanFoam I don't even think most of the modding community wants anything to do with this. I know of a few that like me are going to experiment with this, but many many more are just avoiding the Ultra line completely. The shells themselves have more interest, but that's once sales, clearances, and thrifting starts to produce dirt cheap options for shells to get chopped up as integration fodder.

You’d need new cage and wheels to fire elite caliber.

I bought this gun used and I tried it and I wouldn't work so I replaced the batterys because maybe the batterys were low and it didn't have enough power but that didn't work so then I would this video and removed the first part and it works fine!

That works too. I’ve never really bothered with motor breaking on my blasters though I can see why it’s appealing.

I don't know what it is about this mod that wants me to stop being a baby and learn to solder and put a gavinfuzzy 9 shot kit into this! Do you think that this would be an alright project for beginners? it doesn't seem too complicated.
Soldering isn’t hard really. Just find some scrap wire to practice on and you’ll be ok. Find a thrifted Tommy 20 or some other crap blaster to reword. Don’t even upgrade the components. Just replace the original wires with thicker wires at first. It’s a good learning experience.

They should yeah. I haven’t had any issues with it.

Yellow was positive. Blue was negative.
Is there anyway to mod it so it can fire normal darts???
It would need a new flywheel cage and wheels and a new cylinder. I’m sure there’ll be some kits available soon.
So in short(i only want to remove te jammer), you open it up, take out the little part and reassemble it. Am i correct?

Can you mod this to shoot elites instead of ultras?
Yes. Rad Blasters is selling a conversion kit in there Etsy shop. It rebarrels the cylinders to fit elites and also has a flywheels cage that is a tighter crush to grip the elites better. But you need to buy wheels, motors, and know how to solder to install it. I’ll review the kit when mine comes in soon.
Great work, but I think you have missed an important piece, the one with L shape, yellow, so your shots do not aim well.
And it is tricky to asemble that one. the spring goes in the lower part.
Radblaster has gone the extra step and cranked out a cage and insert kit for elite darts within 12 hours of getting the blaster check em out on fb or etsey

Guys, if you’re modding a spring, don’t pull the spring or it will all fall apart and take at least a half hour to put back together.
